508AV, Spring 12 Walking along, Clyde found himself in a small secluded area. Sitting, he tried to clear his mind of outside noises, and distractions. Meditation had never been one of Clydes strong points, but for a strong mind it was of vital importance. Breathing deeply, he saw the clearing. There was tree a bit away, some rocks, and a boulder over the other way. It was a quiet area, without even any grass growing, just some loose dirt that moved around when he walked, leaving a small cloud of dust in your path. A good area to practice reimancy, with little to be damaged or to get in the way. Breathing once more, he mentally prepared himself, if he was going to use is djed for his magics, he would have to exhibit self control, as it was easy to go to far and use to much magic. Magic tended to be addictive, it had a habit of doing damage in strange and unexpected ways.

The outskirts of Syliras contrasted greatly with the notoriety of its booming cityscape and to some surprise, as he had traveled outwards from the boisterous clamor of cobblestone streets behind him, placid rolling hills awaited him. Like water, the golden wheat fields rolled in unison with each gust of wind and the sun was warm, kissing his blanched flesh. It was energizing and aroused images of Eyktol, a place that he had wished to forget. Nearby he could already see the visage of a man sitting idly, engulfed by ferns. Those interested in the Arcana were numerous whether their curiosity is derived from fear or a craving for power or just an innate desire to unlock the mysterious of the world. As he approached, he wondered what this particular Mages driving force was. Irrespectively though, it didn’t matter. Teaching his craft to others felt uneasy as if he was giving freely what he had worked so hard to achieve. This time, he’d make an exception, there was room to learn with this one. “Quite lovely wouldn’t you agree?” The underbrush beneath Graffius’ feet signaled his approach with the sound of muffled whispers and with arms pushing away warm ferns, he entered the clearing. His acquaintance had picked an appropriate spot. Guards were uncommon and almost nonexistent in these parts and any unauthorized use of magical energy would go unnoticed. In the rare scenario that one would witness his spellcasting however, he would easily be disposed of. The distance from the city offered little opportunity to call for others. “You know of our arrangement, yet its fitting to repeat it. I will assist in your Remanatical explorations as payment for what you have shared of Glyphing in our previous encounter. Afterwards, we will be on our way.” There was little kindness in his voice and in its place was a stark, commanding tone of business. This man was merely a tool to progress in his studies; he knew that he himself was no different as well.

After sitting quietly for a while, Clyde noticed someone approaching. Looking up, he saw he had met him before, Graffius. He had learned shielding from him, and he had taught some glyphing in return. Though they had not gone over reimancy any, since they both had learned it already. "Hello Graffius, how have you been? Long time no see?" Though they had a lot of similarities, they also were different on many counts. Graffius was much more cut and dry, seeing things as a business transaction. Though Clyde also wanted an equivalent exchange, he was more open about what was a trade. While Graffius saw an exchange of one skill for another or of both training together as equal, Clyde also saw teaching as in exchange. For in doing so you would sharpen your own skills, and understand them better from repetition, along with them gaining a skill. However he doubted Graffius would see this as an even exchange. Not to say he would teach someone a skill for nothing if they knew nothing of it or magic, but if they already knew it, helping them expand there skills did not hurt anything. Coming to his feet, Clyde looked over at Graffius. "So Graffius, what would you like to do exactly? Did you have something in mind, or did you just want to throw magic at each other willy nilly?" This last bit he said with a false smile on his mouth, just saying it to stir the man up. If he was going to be rude to Clyde, Clyde could do the same in return.
