The Konti Knight listened silently to both explanations, her bare hint of a smile not even twitching at Jokor's mention of Runas using magic. As they both finished their words to her she gave a small nod.

"Well, it seems we have a few misunderstandings here," the Konti finally spoke, her voice still calm though containing just a hint of amusement, "Young sir," her violet eyes turned to Jokor, "This woman was most likely reaching for you to take your arm and bring you out to dance. It is certainly a common enough sight to see during these celebrations. I would think most other young men, standing alone outside the dancing, would be happy to accept the companionship of an attractive woman."

The woman then turned her gaze to Runas, and this time her ghost of a smile did fall, leaving her with a more neutral expression, "You, miss, seem to be confused as to how things work here in Syliras. While you might have acted out of kindness there are no small amount of Knights that would haul you off to the Tank for what you have done. Forcing someone into something against their will," her words and face briefly took on a sense of gravity, "especially when involving magic, is not something that is acceptable in Syliras. In the future it would be best to use words, rather than actions."

The woman fell silent for a moment, passing over them each one last time, and then gave a small nod as her faint smile returned, "Now, if there is nothing else, you're welcome to return to the celebration. Please refrain from causing any more disturbances though. I don't like to see my kindness wasted."

Jokor held his tongue as the woman spoke, though his rage was slowly filtering into his expression again as he knew that he wasn't in to much trouble.
“I ain't got a problem with a woman trying to bring me to the dance.” Jokor retorted. “I just got a big problem with people I don't know sneaking up on me. She is lucky I didn't stab her in the gut outa habit.” Jokor bit out, his thick sunberthian accent sneaking out into his sentence. But as soon as the konti knight he held his other comments to himself for as long she was talking. Though he couldn't help but getting a small grin on his face and his anger was slowly draining away as he realized the trouble she was most likely getting herself into, not to mention the fact that she was a mage that used magic to influence other people's thoughts would probably all over town in a few days and he would gladly help those rumors a hand with getting around.

“Yeah I got a simple question.” Jokor said as the konti was done with her lecture. “What are you guy's celibrating? Never had anything like this where I was from.”

A devious smirk curved Runas' lips, but didn't spark in her eyes. What was getting lectured on magic to her anyway? She lived a life bathed in djed, her entire being bound to Leth as securely as a squid could attach itself to a face. If there were to be rumours floating around, she could profit from the chaos it would draw. But it would also let the oh so sweet half-blood Symenestra know who she was. Well... Mayhem was an amusing thing, and if the rumours from using magic ruined the game she was currently playing, she'd try to have fun anyway. There was always Victor to use.

The currently Eypharian woman bowed elegantly to the Konti Knight, before straightening and looking at the offended human critically as he spoke.

"Would you now, foreigner? How sweet the men of your hometown must be. I pity their women. Now, excuse me, Sera, but I shall go and rejoin the Summer Solstice. Have a good day." With that, she turned and swept off loftily into the revelry, allowing herself to be swallowed by the people.

Jokor

"That would be a good habit to lose," the Konti's smile remained in place as her violet gaze lingered on Jokor, "As in Syliras it would only serve to cause you trouble. If someone is stealing from you or attempting to cause you harm it's better to let the Knights take care of it. Some would rather just assume all involved in a fight are guilty."

A touch of warmth did enter her smile at Jokor's question though, and she stepped a little closer to him as the crowd began to move back in around them, "The celebration is called the Summer Solstice, as the Eypharian said. It is the day that Syna is longest in the heavens, and so it is dedicated to her and all that she does for us."

By that point the crowd had completely engulfed them once more, and the Konti smiled down at Jokor as she lightly placed a surprisingly strong hand upon his shoulder, "Now, you said you wouldn't mind a woman taking you to the dance floor? Would you care to dance then?"

Runas

At first the crowd cleared a bit of a path for Runas, but as she got further away from Jokor and the Konti the people began to close in. Not long after she became part of the crowd again a hand reached out and grabbed one of her left arms, "You'd best watch yourself, Missy,"

The grasping hand, which was extremely well muscled and colored a pale blue with silver veins, was attached to a particularly dour looking Isur with bluish tinted dark hair. His clothes were more simple and utilitarian than most anyone else out celebrating, and his ruby like left arm was clenched tightly at his side, "People 'round here don't take kindly to magic users or non-humans. If you're both then it just makes things worse."

The short man's brown eyes gave Runas a look over, an appraising look like one would give a tool, and he gave a soft grunt, "You've not been 'round here long, have you? What's your name, Missy?"

Runas was pretty good at ignoring cold looks at murmuring. She'd been antagonized by a tigeress Kelvic before, and these people, humans, had nothing on that particular ball of fire. The Ethaefal could have used the Kelvic's company, though. She still felt uncomfortable. What would the reactions be when she came as her true form? Horror or awe? Her dark green eyes rose to observe the position of the sun before a firm grasp on one of her arms caught her and stopped her dead.

She looked to the man and hid an annoyed scowl behind a faint smile just like her usual ones. She'd already decided no one else today would see what she was really feeling behind her eyes, and they were blank to feelings.

"They'll think worse after Syna sets," she said ominously, glancing back at the beautiful orb in the sky. She sighed quietly before looking back at the Isur, a race she'd heard of but never had the pleasure of meeting. Too many people had left the original group of friends she'd been with, and she had no desire to travel too far alone. "My name is Tawna." The thought 'for now' tickled the edge of her words but was bitten back with another smile.

"What is your name as well?" The charm she'd tried on that stiff man rose again in her, but without the djed-laden influence of Hypnotism.

“Oh I hope doctor petricious gets his claws on ya.” Jokor spat after the disappearing woman. Not able to resist throwing a barb for her implied insult.
For the rest ignoring the woman he just nodded at the konti's observation, having calmed down visibly “Yeah thats what Jaelyn always say's when I lose my temper. Saying patience is the code of the knights... or at least something that sounds like it. But the knights are high on dreamsmoke if they think I'm just gonna let some moron attack me without me retaliating though.” Jokor said as he relaxed himself a bit, the strange witch gone and the rest of the crowd slowly forgetting about them, leaving them be.
Carefully filing away everything the woman said about that solstice thing and why before piping up with another question.

“Well I ain't really a faithful person aside the few gods I say a prayer to and I get that she is the goddess of the sun or something like that but why would you guy's go and throw a festival or something like that in her name?” Jokor questioned, though he was a bit surprised when the konti suddenly asked if he would care to dance with her. Quickly mulling over that for a few moments before just shrugging.
“eh, sure why not? You can explain that question of mine while we are trying to dance then.” Jokor responded, hoping that the konti wouldn't laugh her gill's of when she knew about his lack of dancing experience.
"You can call me Jokor by the way." He quickly added after a few moments. remembering jaelyn's lessons on basic courtesy.

Jokor

The Konti, just a couple inches taller than Jokor, smiled warmly at his acceptance of her offer, and her hand slid down from his shoulder to lightly grasp his hand right hand, "You may call me Irine. I look forward to getting to know you, Jokor."

Deftly Irine lead the way through the crowd and towards the open space where everyone was dancing. Once they arrived at a spot clear enough to dance in Irine stopped, and then, as if aware of Jokor's lack of dancing experience, she guided Jokor into a simple dancing stance. Holding his right hand with her left still, now up and a little away from them, she guided his left hand down to her waist, and then brought up her right hand to rest lightly upon Jokor's shoulder. As her right hand moved Jokor caught a glimpse of a dark spiral pattern on the palm of Irine's right hand.

"Syliras is a city of open beliefs," Irine began to explain as she guided Jokor into the circling and swaying of a simple dance to the music, her own movements as smooth and refined as one would expect from a Konti, "Have you been to the Temple of All Gods yet? All are welcome to worship who they will here, as long as they don't break the law, and so we celebrate important or relevant times for many of the Divine. Not all, mind you, or else we would never get any work done," she gave a soft laugh and a warm smile, "These celebrations not only honor the God or Goddess they're dedicated too, but give everyone a chance to relax and have some fun."

Runas

Runas glance at Syna's position showed that she had a good three or so bells until her change would happen, and the Isur scowled at her comment. Still he answered when she asked for his name, "Maenon Stonecarver," a bit of his gruffness of his voice fell away as he continued, her charm apparently helping, "What, you one of those Ethaefal?" the Isur gave a soft scoff as he released his grip on Runas' arm, "People have seen your kind before. There's even one among the ranks of the Knights. Unless you become a petching Zith or Symenestra when Syna sleeps I doubt they'll be anymore upset."

Maenon fell silent for a moment, looking Runas over again, and then he stepped a little closer to her so he could speak with a lower volume, "Tell me, Tawna, what brings you 'round Syliras anyways? Just passing through, or looking to make a home here?" the tone with which Maenon spoke held just a hint of ominousness to it, as if Runas' question could lead to something deeper and possibly a bit dangerous.

Now, that brought interest into Runas' eyes. She hadn't heard of another Ethaefal in this region for a little while, and immediately a desire to find this creature and see what her or she looked like burned in her. It had been very long since she had seen one of her own kind -visibly, at least. There was no telling who was what when an Ethaefal's patron wasn't watching- and she had almost forgotten there could be more here. The Suvan was right there, all ready and waiting for something to drop from the sky in a spray of saltwater.

"Actually, I am an Ethaefal. Tell me, would these people take kindly to an Ethaefal accused of using magic to force someone to their whims?" Despite her words, a small smile once again curved her lips as she discarded Syna's position for a few more bells. No matter what an Isurian assured her, she still would seek privacy to change forms.

Her thin, black eyebrows rose at his gruff question and she contemplated the sense of foreboding accompanying the question before she shrugged. "I am passing through. I've come through Syliras before. I try to every year. This year, I decided Summer could not be missed. I've only seen the Winter Solstice recently." Recently, in the terms of her time spent in Syliras, would mean about five or six years before, or four visits ago. She might have seen Summer before that, but she couldn't be bothered to remember. "What about you, Maenon Stonecarver? Do you live here?"

Jokor easily found his way through the crowd, his small size and years of experience as a thief in sunberth helping him not to bump into somebody or step on somebody's toes, as he was leaded through the crowd by the knight, as soon they arrived at a spot with enough space the konti stopped and slowly began to help him into what he thought was a simple dancing stance. His left hand on her waist and she lifted his right hand up and a little away from them. As she was moving her right hand he noticed a dark spiral pattern on the palm of irine's right hand. A strange nagging feeling in the back of his head that presisted, even when the strange mark was outside of his vission. He didn't doubt that thing wasn't important in some kind and if it wasn't, information was still information. It could always come in handy later.

Focussing with his auristic vision as good as he could on the mark of irine's hand, confident that he could at least get a general idea of what it was with his magic vision. Trying to split his concentration between listening to what she was saying and what he could actually pick up from that strange mark
“Open beliefs within limits ya mean.” Jokor said with a grin on his face. “I doubt the knights, or anybody else here, would like that one of those nutjobs worshiping rhysol or vayth suddenly stepped into the city. At least I would slit their throats if the knights don't beat me to it.” Jokor threw out as he tried his best not to step on the konti's toes. “But yeah I have been to that temple before. Had to deliver a book there for my old job. Never prayed to any god there though.” Jokor doubted it would have done any good, kelwyn didn't seem like the types to like pious types and yshul? Every little theft was something of a prayer towards her.

Jokor

To Jokor's auristic vision the dark swirl was quite different. Made of brilliant light and color it seemed similar, but definitely distinct from Irine's aura, and it seemed to be extremely strong hope contained in the swirl. As he focused on the swirl Jokor also caught a glimpse of two other vague points, located on either side of her neck and upon her collar bone, but with his focus on the swirl he couldn't get much in the way of detail about them.

Irine smiled softly in response to Jokor's grin, but the smile faded as Jokor mentioned slitting people's throats, "As I said," she replied, her voice a little more subdued from before, "They are free to worship as long as they don't break the law. If a worshiper of Rhysol came to Syliras, did nothing to break any laws, and kept the peace I don't see any reason why they should be attacked."

Irine danced with Jokor in silence for a little time, but eventually she spoke again, her smile back with its soft warmth, "You seem to have grown in a place far from Syliras, Jokor. Not many here, even among the Knights, so casually talk about murdering people. Where are you from?"

Runas

"I doubt it," Maenon grumble in response to Runas' question, "Lucky for you one scrawny boy yelling 'bout magic isn't enough to turn the whole city against you. Some might be cautious about you, but not enough to call the Knights when they see you."

Her answer to his question in return brought back Maenon's scowl, and he gruffly replied, "Aye, I live here. Work in the Ironworks," he looked up at Runas with a hint of contemplation, and his scowl faded again, "Would you care to dance? I'm good enough not to step on your feet at least," against the subtle tone of his voice indicated that there was something more to his request.

As if uncaring for her actual response Maenon took hold of one of Runas' arms, this time being a bit less firm, and started to walk with her out towards the open area where everyone was dancing. His grip was light enough that she could easily break away if she wanted, but the Isur seemed to think that she would be willing to come along with him.
