Stupid Dogs! (Leviathan)

Postby Bob Barton on August 31st, 2011, 8:13 am

Bob stood and stretched himself. Just teaching a dog some things were tiring, even if all that time he was on the ground. At least now with the ground rules Bob laid down, Jinsen would be more...manageable. Bob would not have to see Jinsen killing himself over bad eating habits or have the dog messing up his shirt.

Once Bob had finished loosening his limbs, pushing and pulling them it was time for Jinsen's reward. No, not food. Because Bob wanted to be rewarded for teaching Jinsen as well. The reward had to be something that the both of them would benefit and enjoy from. Bob stooped lower to look at Jinsen. "How about we play something. Games are fun you know." his hands were at his back as he stretched his back backwards. "And we both could use a break from the work." or Bob could be the one to use the break. All Jinsen did was eat and fool around.

So playing with dogs. Lucky Bob had been playing with his uncle's one back in Zeltiva so he had a rough idea how to do it. He chose to use a stick. Those things are cheap and common. All he had to do was grab one from a tree. He tapped it on his knee to make a knocking sound getting Jinsen's attention. "Here Jinsen, Jinsen. The stick is for you."

The dog probably think Bob was still bad to it or wanting to use the stick to hit it even and started to back away. "No, no Jinsen. You are supposed to get the stick." Bob held the stick up in the air and waved it around as he waited until he was sure Jinsen's attention was fully on it. "Now Fetch!" Bob yelled, throwing the stick far, far away on the other side where it landed on the grass.

With the supposed punishment tool far far away from Bob, Jinsen started walking up to Bob. "No, no Jinsen! You don't come to me until you at least get the stick." What was Bob supposed to do to make this dog understand. Well...there was that way... Bob's head turned left and right to make sure that there was no one in sight to watch what he had to force himself to do next..

No one around as much as Bob could tell, he moved towards the stick. Jinsen was following him for reasons unknown to Bob but it was easier that way. Then Bob picked up the stick from the ground and spun around to face Jinsen. "This thing, goes in your mouth." and he tried to push the stick at Jinsen's mouth.

The dog straightened its head and started to back away again. "Just take the damned stick..." Bob thought to himself. Even to play this dog was making things hard. If one dog is that hard how is it that Hannah can train so many? That itself is a commendable skill and needed respect Bob felt was due to the woman.

Bob looked around to make sure that no one was looking again. Then his eyes were trained right on the stick. His whole body shivered as he was thinking of what he needed to do. "One time. I am just going to show you this one time Jinsen!" and Bob put the stick into his mouth.

"Yuck!" The wooden taste was stuck in Bob's mouth. Disgusting. Wait, actually chewing on it a little bit, it tasted pretty good in a way. "Chomp, chomp, chomp." Bob bit into the stick to try and get a little of that unique taste into his mouth. No wait...it was Bob's mistake. He was handling the stick while there was still some food on his hands. So what Bob was tasting was actually little bits of food. Dog food! "Yuck!" Bob spat out the stick once he realized this but it did give him a little idea.

The bowl was filled with a little food again. And with the stick on one hand and the food in the other he shown them to Jinsen. "Alright Jinsen, watch this." Bob took some food in his hands and squeezed it. He only needed a thin layer of it on the stick so he squeezed it out to get rid of most of the food. Whatever which was left over was lathered all over the stick. He moved his hands all over it to make sure he does not miss even one spot.

"Now do you want the stick Jinsen?" Bob asked again. Moving the stick which smelt of delicious dog food in front of Jinsen's nose. Before Jinsen could snap his jaws on the stick Bob already had it in the air and tossed it across the field. "Then go fetch it!" Hahaha. Look at Jinsen bolting for the stick. It worked. It worked!

Jinsen waited on the spot which he got the stick and started chewing on it. "Yes Jinsen, bring the stick here. Bring the stick back to Bob!" But Jinsen was too busy trying to taste the stick. After a while Bob finally had it and took back the stick. Rubbing foodstuff all over it again.

Until sundown Bob kept trying to play with Jinsen. Or at least teach the dog how to. Rubbing food on the stick, throwing it across and then getting it back over and over again. A quarterway through, Bob didn't even have to go and pick up the stick himself. Jinsen finally got it that he was supposed to bring it back so that Bob can put the tasty food on it. Halfway through, Bob no longer even needed to use the food. The dog finally realized that somehow along the way it was fun. By the time they were done, both Bob and Jinsen were tired. Bob from the throwing and Jinsen from the fetching.

"Alright Jinsen its time for a break. You did well." Bob tried to pet the dog again. "So lets go look for Hannah to see whether she should be teaching me more stuff about dogs. After that I am going to bed."

Bob cleared out the stick and leftovers of food before he started hunting Hannah down. Of course Jinsen had to follow too. Very, very hard work. But fun towards the end.

At Bob's words Hannah walked in towards the place where Jinsin and bob sat, and looked at them both with a smile. "Hey there, so how did it go?"

"Oh swell..." the small man said before Hannah ignored him enough to kneel down and gesture to Jinsin. The dog it seemed came to her readily and for a bit of a time she scratched its ears as it started to pant happily. Very slowly, she began to look the dog over, inspecting its fur and its ears, and took a long look into its eyes.

Finally she stood and walked a good distance away. "Okay Jinsen, Here Boy."

For a moment the dog stood and looked towards her, and then back towards bob. Slobbering a little it turned itself in place as if making a decision. It barked happily once at Hannah and wagged its tail before going to lay it's shaggy drooling head on Bob's knee, it's slobber staining his pantsleg a little.

Seeing this, Hannah straighted up and gave a small smile and turned to leave without saying another word. When Bob left to leave for the afternoon. Jinsin followed after. Happy to find a new, if albeit strange dogfood loving human, as its newest friend and Master.
