[Konti Pride] We Know What You Did Last Summer

Oh, I definitely have no plans of using it, ever, nor of regaining it. The reason I wanted to define the gift is so if she ever speaks of her old gift that she had in life, there wouldn't be duplication even if hers is no longer active. If that's unnecessary since the gift is no longer active, then that's less work for me!

[Konti Pride] We Know What You Did Last Summer

Postby Lynnea Timandre on December 29th, 2011, 9:21 pm

Hey all!

Lynnea here is a new Timandre, and a new Konti in general. She'll be starting elsewhere, but lived on Mura for a couple of years, so if any of you want to flashback there, I'm all ears! I'll be entering Lynnea's gift into the lore myself (once I get her CS up, that is!), but I'll also post it here just so you guys know what it is:

Djed Sensing: Lynnea's gift allows her to read the djed of others through touch. Merely by laying her hand on someone's skin, she can tell if the person she's touching practices magic or not. Prolonged contact allows Lynnea to tell what magical discipline the person practices, if any at all. It starts with the discipline they use the most often, then goes to the second most important one, and so on and so forth. It takes only a couple seconds to discover the magical abilities about a minor practitioner, while she needs to be in contact with more advanced mages for longer periods of time to discover the full breadth of their abilities.

Credit for the awesome idea goes to Wrenmae. It's also been approved by Gossamer, so no worries there.

Can't wait to thread with you all!

[Konti Pride] We Know What You Did Last Summer

Postby L'orlei on January 6th, 2012, 3:53 pm

Okay, so obviously this character is still in development, but I'm working on my gift and wanted some opinions. So the name I've come up with is NameSeer, or something like that. Still working on it. I have a couple versions of the power.

Original version is she knows the name of anybody she meets, instantly. She hears it in her head when she looks at them. Sometimes this can be overwhelming in a crowded room of strangers or something, and if somebody has two names (in the case of an Akalak) or multiple aliases it can be a bit confusing for her. The next part might be too much, but also if she touches someone she starts seeing the names and faces of everybody they have ever met, starting with the most recent and going all the way back. It happens very fast, is difficult for her to control, and can overwhelm her very quickly.

The other idea I had for this power was she knows the name of everything. This might be too much of a power though, but basically if she sees something she knows what it is called. She knows the name of people, she looks at a flower and knows what its called, sees sparrow and knows its called a sparrow (or if it was a pet and had an actual name she would know that), looks at a weapon and if it has a name she would know it. I would probably leave out the touch aspect of this, but I could throw that in there too. Again, this version is probably a bit much, but if it isn't I would like to have it instead of just people.

Any opinions?

[Konti Pride] We Know What You Did Last Summer

Postby Rhune on January 6th, 2012, 11:16 pm

Hey Lovelies! So I've been troubleshooting a Konti gift for a few weeks now, when I decided I wanted to create this character. So... I'd love some people's advice, ideas, criticism, and so on. If you're willing, of course.

What I'm trying to create right now is something along the lines of "Scent-Recall":

"Of all the senses, the ability to smell is one of the best memory triggers. R'Lene's Konti gift is related to that concept. When she is with someone who remembers something important to them through a certain scent or scents, R'Lene knows. Sometimes it is as simple as knowing that, the person, has a memory connected to the scent. While other times she can even even see fragments of the memory or the memory itself. After every encounter, the scent intensifies. This means that every time she is with the person during a scent recall, she sees more and more of that certain memory. R'Lene is able to recall every scent trigger between people every time she is with them and sometimes when she is apart."

What are your ideas?

I like the name ability. But I would almost say you would have to restrict it to living things, either human or animal. That way you could keep the ability under control. If she knew the name of everything it would be a little overwhelming don't you think?

The Scent Recall ability is unique as well. I like it and it seems to be well balanced as well.

[Konti Pride] We Know What You Did Last Summer

Postby Nira'lia on April 2nd, 2012, 10:10 am

Hi guys. Sorry if this question can be answered somewhere else on the site, but what exactly happens when a Konti receives a call?

Does she just wake up one day knowing what she has to do? Does she feel the urge to go some place without fully knowing why?

Thanks!

Depends on the call. It can be vague or very specific. But a call is indeed an urge to do something somewhere. Maybe go to Riverfall and be somewhere at a specific time; it's almost like a sixth sense of kinds. But a Konti knows when they receive their call.

Hope this helps

[Konti Pride] We Know What You Did Last Summer

Postby Beryl on April 17th, 2012, 1:23 am

Hey everyone:)

New here but I just swung my Konti gift idea by the HD to make sure it was okay for the go and it is! And now I was wondering if anyone would do me a huge favor and stick it in the wiki? If not I will get that done as soon as I have a moment to make a wiki account @.@

Plant-empathy:
Beryl can feel what plants feel to a certain extent. She cannot speak to them as one would with the Gnosis of Phylonura but she can feel when they need to be taken care of. For example, if she is sitting in a tree she can feel if the tree is thirsty. She can also feel when they are dying or ready to bloom and to a certain extent she can pick up their perception of when it will rain or their happiness that it will rain soon. Of course, it is not an exact science; though she feels the thirst right along with them something more vague like displeasure she will have a harder time deciphering because she does not understand the reason for the displeasure.

The level of her gift does not run supremely far though it is limited by physical contact as well as size. She could, for instance, feel if a tree, rosebush or shrubbery is hungry but she could not tell if and large plot of grass needed to be watered or was dying. As a general coverage limit she cannot feel anything that extends over five feet long. Since her gift is run through contact she will only empathize with the plant until said contact breaks.
