A city floating in the center of a lake, Ravok is a place of dark beauty, romance and culture. Behind it all though is the presence of Rhysol, God of Evil and Betrayal. The city is controlled by The Black Sun, a religious organization devoted to Rhysol. [Lore]

Whistling and eyeing the dead girl on the floor, Flynn murmured in regret, she couldn't pick up the dead girl and drop her off to a burial site. Not in this form. Here in Ravok, it was an everyday thing, death left and right. She thought the girl's death was rather classless, what with all the screaming and blubbering. She hoped her own death wasn't like that.

Didn't the sullen guy say he was a Ebonstryfe?, she thought absentmindedly. It didn't look like a normal fight anymore. Now that the shady looking guy had marked him, he was definitely dead. Fights like these were always fun.

Flynn materialized for a moment to wipe off the blood on the girl's face and carry her to the side of the alley, then systematically fell into a trance. She began to spin and weave her djed. Draw it into your origin. Anchor it. Expand it. Webbing the web around the Ebonstryfe, she began to chase him.

Zaniss had escaped, barely, and if he had a functional heart it would have been beating out of his chest. Eventually he stopped sprinting and adopted a brisk walk in hopes of keeping quiet as he made his way through Ravok's alleys and side streets.

It was the dead of night when he decided to take yet another risk. The Nuit had contemplated returning to his home and staying out of sight for some time. At least long enough for the Ebonstryfe to forget their encounter. "But the slave boy is quite a prize," he mused. Zaniss dragged each side of his switchblade along his thigh, wiping it clean of blood, before retracting the blade and stowing it in his jacket pocket.

At length, Zaniss decided to return to the docks. He thought of nothing in particular as he wove his way through the alleys. The Nuit had survived for centuries and had foiled many pursuers and accusers. Eventually Zaniss turned onto a street in front of The Silver Sliver. A gaggle of drunks burst through the tavern doors and stumbled down the steps into the street. Zaniss watched them cautiously and then noticed movement behind them. From the shadow of a large tree knelt a boy, scarcely clothed despite the cool weather. At once Zaniss recognized him as the slave from the market.

As he ran after the man, Solomus contemplated on how he was going to kill this man. Sweat rolled down his forehead, mingling with the blood and causing a painful sting above his eyes where his wound was. His legs ached, never born a runner nor graceful, and his right arm was numb as he ran carrying his warhammer. At this point he was repeating the commands in his mind. Right foot, left foot. Right foot, left foot. And all the while he contemplated which foot he was going to stick up the man's ass when he caught him. Tis the mind of Solomus Revon.

Solomus never did lose his prey for more than a few moments, and as he ran he learned they were heading back to the docks. It was the dead of night, and this man was going back to where Solomus first spotted him. He was taking a risk, but that earned a tid-bit of respect from the follower of Rhysol, even if it didn't even come close to the infamy from murdering that woman earlier in the day. Remembering that reminded Solomus of how long he had been chasing this man? It had been a while. But how many bells?

Only the thought of failure swimming through his head kept the man going. Rhysol was watching even if his commander wasn't and the god of chaos didn't respect failure. Members of the Ebonstryfe often suffered greatly when they failed, and apprentices were easily forgotten. Who would care if Solomus just disappeared? His father wouldn't, deeming his own son a failure and moving on knowing how he couldn't make a good follower of Rhysol.

So when Solomus came upon the man he was chasing outside the Silver Silver, the apprentice was relieved. But he didn't reveal himself, crouching in the shadows across the street. He watched the man stare at a vagrant sitting under a tree. Solomus didn't know it was the slave boy. Solomus only knew he wasn't going to let someone else die this day. Well, anyone but the killer himself.

Flynn serenely smiled at the disgruntled faces of the passerbys she went through, still out at this time of night. The Ebonstryfe was near invisible, concealed, but with the Webbing magics on him it was easy to find him hiding in the shadows, looking sharply in one obvious direction. Following his gaze, she made out the silhouette of the same man who had wounded the Ebonstryfe. He was near a tree that cast a darker shadow on a boy. She considered, very seriously, the previous events.

The man had proclaimed he was one of the Ebonstryfe. It was probably true, there was no other reason to chase after the other man that hard, and if he was any less disciplined, the poor man probably would've been wheezing from the chase. It looked like the Ebonstryfe was an apprentice, judging from his clumsy way of navigating the alleyways and the almost stricken look on his face whenever he lost sight of his target. Which made sense. That militia was a strict group that allowed no failures.

The ruffian seemed to be no more than that, just a ruffian. But there was a lucid, calculating look in his eyes during the hostage situation. She wondered what kind of secret he was hiding.

Drawing herself up from her slouched position, she grinned with all her teeth and Blinked behind the tree, directly out of the man's line of sight but not the boy's, and Possessed the slave.

Zaniss made a wide arc around the drunkards and ruffians that had come to congregate around The Silver Sliver's entrance. He focused his gaze on the cobblestones at his feet in an effort to not draw attention. The tavern's din drowned out much of what was said among the group of ragtag adolescents, but one of them stared at Zaniss as he passed.

"Oy, Poppy," he slurred. "Past your bed time inn't?" One of the boy's companions yanked him back into the circle. He stumbled past his friends and began to vomit in the street. The smell of soured ale and bread clouded the air immediately. Zaniss ignored them and continued in a straight line toward the boy.

"Aha! Look at 'im!"

The boy began to moan softly and then collapsed in his pile of vomit.

"Ahaha," his friends laughed. "Oy, Poppy you showed 'im!"

"C'mon, lads, pick 'im up. Can't leave 'im here in 'is own filth. Ahaha!"

The boys' laughter faded away as Zaniss considered the scene. He wondered what the Ebonstryfe was doing. He wondered how he liked the little gift he had given him before they parted ways. He considered, briefly, the possibility that the Ebonstryfe had followed him back to The Silver Sliver. "Impossible," Zaniss mused.

The night cast complex and, at times, ghastly shadows across the boy's frail figure. As Zaniss approached he thought, for just a moment, that he saw the boy twitch but the notion was soon banished far from his mind. He knelt before the boy and held out a pale hand. "Hello," spoke the Nuit in its most charming voice. "What do you know?"

Solomus could only watch the murderer shy away from the drunks as he walked up to the boy. The drunks were yelling, and one fell into a pile of his own vomit, but the apprentice had eyes only for the boy cowering in the shadows that the topknotted man could see into. But really, he had eyes only for the man walking over to those shadows. He had eyes picturing his hammer crushing the man's bones . He was sure to make the man feel it. For the woman and for him. More for him than for her. She was dead, but Solomus lived to say an old man wounded him.

When his prey crouched, holding his hand out, Solomus made his move. Crouching, the apprentice stepped foot after foot out of his hiding spot. He hoped speaking up behind him wouldn't alarm the man. Would the drunks reveal his position? Or would something else that Solomus had no idea was there. It truly was a bad time to not know what was going to happen. Death in Ravok was normal to Solomus, but his own death was not. When he could handle the death of others, he was sure he couldn't handle his own death.

Know? Know what? Was this boy an informant? Flipping through the boy's mind, Flynn could only grasp at a weak and distressed subconscious. Oh, maybe he was being blackmailed? No wonder the boy had been easy to Possess. But this boy knew much less than she thought. She put on a terrified yet brave face she had seen on him earlier. As Flynn was about to speak in a trembling, questioning voice, she felt a sharp bloodlust. Before, it was a keen and eager sort of air. But now, everyone in the area seemed to feel it. The intent to kill, something the more dangerous citizens of Ravok quickly learned to sense. What a strong bloodlust... Flynn thought she might've underestimated him. The Ebonstryfe was making his move.

Okay, I'm going to be honest. This thread has promise.. but there are just so many things wrong here, I just cannot award any xp for this. If I remember correctly I did talk to at least one of you about this thread, but it hasn't been corrected. I've locked the thread. No xp will be awarded. Here are just some of the reasons why:

1.) A Nuit is physically weak. The girl could have escaped, considering you also have no combat skills.
2.) There is nothing staring there is a back door in the location entry. While not a big deal.. still.
3.) You are not allowed to kill an npc without moderator permission.
4.) According to it's entry, 30 soulmist projection only allows for the moving of about 5 lbs. You couldn't have moved the body.
5.) Ghosts cannot use magic in their ghost form. Their djed is dead and cannot sustain personal magic. You must first possess something.
6.) 5 points in possession is not enough to casually possess someone and flip through their thoughts like reading an open book.

I'm sure I could list more, but that is enough for now. Thread permanently locked. No xp.
Forecast for tonight... Dark
