With the torch handed back to him Antar cooly and calmly snuffed it out in the dirt as the lacquer burned at a good pace. When he judged the fire hardening ready, he took a step towards the camp's water barrel and quickly overturned it above the training dummy they were making.

The water flowed down the construction, taking the burning pitch with it as a bit of steam doused the errant flames, though the majority of the burning oil would stay alight as the lacquer became suspended above the water. From there to finish putting things out it was as easy as taking a camp's shovel and smothering the mixture with soil. This was one of the dangers of working on a large construction with fire burning. At other times one might simply begin to douse the object completely so long as it was small enough and held in tongues.

However, even this process did not net the total desired result; a small bit of pitch lay burning on the trundle. A bit of reimancy would serve to serve that its due rights. No, not to create more fire but to attract it.

And so he did, bringing a small ball of res to a point just off the burning flames, before the flames began to bend, then became apart from the pitch with a hissing snap. The newly made ball of flame went to the earth and another shovel full finished the job.

Smiling a little he looked at Darian, "I do believe a bit of hunting would be fine later, since we're rather done here save for wrapping it in ropes and the leather scraps we took. Care to finish this first or shall we move onto the hunting and the killing of furry rodents so you of all people can teach me how to carve a bit of bone. Worse comes to worse I may just have a rabbit for the pot to welcome your first night amongst friends. In return, we shall see just what you're ready to learn hmmm?"

Weighing Antar's words, Darian took a moment to consider while he observed the hardened wood surface of the training post. It reminded him vaguely of a time shared with his old master, when training was what breathed life into him and he was with purpose. Times had changed sense then leaving him little worse for wear, though he still remembered those days, when he sweated blood and subsisted on bread crumbs. Oddly enough, he missed those days.

"Lets finish this trading post first, and practice a few blows. Our bellies and tinkering with the arcane can wait" Darian said casually, taking a step to the side as a gesture for his companion to continue.

I have retired Darian, and I apologize for any inconveniences this has caused with anyone threading with this character. Feel free to NPC him in any threads that he is involved in if that is of course ok with the moderator. Again, I am sorry for any inconveniences.

Antar smiled a little, before gently correcting the man, "Training post Darian, Training post."

Under his direction the two would dig a small hole in the ground, and lean the cross shaped creation up from the braces and then into the anchor. With the scraps of leather and armor he had gained previously in the day's adventures, Antar began to wrap them about the crossbrace, and then lashed on the rope for a series of loops and twines before securing it with a clove hitch.

After the several minutes it took to take such a thing, the training post was finally ready for use and Antar stepped back a moment, gesturing towards Darian to have the first few blows. "So what prompted you to start with the longsword instead of something else?"

As he waited for Darian to make a few strikes against the now secured pylon, he would take out his own weapons, a gladius in his right hand, and a kukri in his left as he made a few tentative strikes in the air. Trying to accomodate himself with the weight of a weapon in each hand.
