Jaeden gave a slow nod, taking the bottle back as he took another sip before corking it and slipping it back into his pouch. "You're welcome," Jaeden said, dragging the back of his wrist along his lips. "Just be sure if you decide to get any for your own that you take it slowly. The stuff will make your head spin if consumed too quickly."

Jaeden slowly turned, heading into a nearby shop as bows and arrows of all sorts of designs and craftsmanship lined the wall. "Just wanted to check they're stock of arrows for my upcoming hunting trip," Jaeden explained as he first began looking over the normal arrows. "I wonder if they have targets in here for practice too?"

Nel teetered on the heel of a boot, peering around Jaeden's arm at the the array of bows and arrows, and crinkled her nose. Not her style.

So she rocked back, finding a shaky equilibrium, and shrugged.

"Well," she said, with another smile. "I'll leave you to it. Thanks for...knocking me over and buying me food. It was nice to meet you. Good luck...hunting? I'll be careful about the cherry...stuff."

The smile hedged into a grin. No she wouldn't.

Jaeden slowly looked over to Nel as he gave a slow nod. "Yes, be sure you do," Jaeden replied as he gave a slow nod. "I'd hate to find you passed out in the street somewhere because you drank too much. It'd make me feel a little guilty."

Jaeden then looked past Nel for a moment, checking the the light from the sun, more specifically the shadows it's light casted along the ground. There was still a few more hours of day time left. "Well, if you'd be interested in doing something tonight, I won't have any shopping to do as well. I was considering hitting up the gambling area they have here in the city or something. Anyhow, I'm staying at the rooms found on Traveler's Row if you wanted to find me," Jaeden explained. "Mine is the room that has sort of this funky green colored door with a few scratch marks at it's base."

Nel tucked her hands into her pockets, tilting her head a little in a considering appraisal of Jaeden. Nothing lascivious about it; the sort of look someone gave you when they were trying to decide whether or not you were really dangerous.

"Not much of a gambler," she said, narrow shoulders rolling in a shrug. "I mean, I like to, but most people don't like to, with me, and I just lose money. But I haven't been to any of the places in the city, so..." She shrugged again. "...if you wanna show me around, that'd be fun."

Who'd gamble with a Konti? Not that Nel was good for much except starting bar brawls. Dice was out; she could tell in cards when someone was bluffing, that was one thing. But she couldn't read minds or see the future, though everyone assumed she could.

"You could gamble, and I could...very carefully try more of that cherry stuff." She grinned. "Do you wanna meet me somewhere, or should I just come knock...on your funky green door that's apparently been the object of a goblin's wrath?"

Jaeden picked up an arrow, examining it slowly as he gave a slow nod. "Well, I'm not much of a gambler myself," Jaeden replied before slipping the arrow back to the shelf, "but I can afford a few mizas just for the sake of trying it out. I'll only be taking a small amount of my coin there so I don't risk more than I have."

Jaeden then looked back down to Nel. "Just go ahead and stop over at my door, that way we can go when you're ready and we don't have to worry about either one of us running late," Jaeden answered as he then began examining a fishing arrow, muttering something under his breath about the possibility of a law success rate. "Oh, and I'll tell you right now that if you pass out from drinking to much at the casino, I'm carrying you back to my place to sleep since I've no idea where you're staying."

"Is it okay if I bring my friend along?" Nel asked, watching Jaeden peruse the arrows. "Y'know, so that you don't hafta carry me anywhere."

Murdoch liked gambling. And though she probably shouldn't, she thought of him as a friend and hoped maybe, maybe, he'd stop her from doing anything stupid. Or getting herself in trouble. Or at least he'd help get her out of the trouble she was kind of destined to fall face-first into.

"Yeah, that's fine," Jaeden said as he slid his finger lightly over the edge of one of the broad headed arrows he had picked up. "Not that I'd mind carrying you anywhere, but it's likely better in the long run to have someone there who can guide you back home."

"So I'll see the two of you later tonight then?" Jaeden inquired, looking back down to Nel as he slowly tapped the arrow along the chest of his leather armor.

"Yeah." She flashed him a grin as she started ambling backwards. "Come unarmed."

Whatever that meant. Could've just been a reference to the arrow he was fondling.

"I wouldn't carry my bow around the city unless I was heading to the range for some practice," Jaeden replied with a smirk as she began backing towards the door. "I'll see you tonight then."

Jaeden then continued to browse over the shop for another bell, before finally picking up some normal arrows as well as a quiver a fishing arrows. With that done, he then heading back to his room along Traveler's Row, spending the mid-day time organizing his belongings and eating dinner.

By the time night fell over the city, Jaeden was then in the process of slipping on a clean shirt as he waited for Nel and her friend's arrival. He took out four gold miza's, slipping them into his backpack before stuffing the rest in his pouch at the bottom of his pack.

Chowin' Down [Nel, Murdoch]

Postby Murdoch on May 2nd, 2010, 5:01 am

"I can't believe you're making me meet another guy you picked up on the street. You've really gotta start looking where you're going."

Doc and Nel were approaching Traveler's Row, his steps as confident as they always were in the streets of his city. One arm was slung around Nel's shoulders, the Konti girl nestled against his side as if he suspected that she might go flying into someone at any moment.

He ducked his head and pressed a kiss to her temple, something casual and uncaring in the motion as if he did it because he was supposed to - but Nel knew him better by now, knew that it was the nonchalance that was the lie and not the affection. "I promise not to steal from this one," he chuckled into her ear. Of course, that was not a promise not to cheat him out of every last cent.
