Slaver's Row: Description: The street right off the slave markets houses some of the most established "middle men" of the slaving trade. They specialize in the procurement and shipment of 'goods' to stock the more prominent traders markets or buy for 'specialized interests'. Their presence upon this street is mainly tolerated as a simple courtesy: they do business with everyone, even if it means selling 'extra' slaves at low prices to wealthier clientele who are looking for something not usually found within the daytime, but can be easily bought in the dead of night. Need to sell your spouse to repay a loan? These are the guys to call on. Want to spend a time with a girl that you don't have to worry about Brega, or Ruby caring about if they walk again? Want to have a sordid macabre affair to buy a killing? This is the place to go. The row homes are set up so each person has a different place, and behind the alleys here, sometimes impromptu fights for money and betting are arranged. NPC's Callik Iceheart: Race: Human Affiliation : Night Eyes Callik is an entrepreneur to say the least, and a lieutenant in the Night Eyes. Not to mention being one of the most savvy businessmen of the present age. He owns a three story house, filled with guards and offices and collects slaves for the Nighteyes to work on the plantations. Often times he'll be the one setting up a meeting with those that have to sell their family or children if they accrued debt to the night eyes' moneylenders. All around, he's a tough and sordid sort. What's more to tell? Well, eventually you might find out! Negotiation 75, Observation 60, Longsword 65, Business 51; Bartering 35; Brawling 40; Crossbow 35; NPC; Hallvar “Malum” Schancke Race: Human Gender: Male Age: 39 Hallvar, more commonly known by his business name Malum, is what Sunberth might refer to as one of its prides and joys. Born and raised in the city, Malum had managed to get by through his life enough to start a private business. While not the most successful, Malum learned to make a living off of the misery and suffering of others. It all started with his first love, who eventually became prospect. She had left him and most of her belongings behind, but Malum was onto something. With a few sweet whispers and sleight of hand, Malum was soon working in close quarters with the slaving business. His prize cattle became consisted of some of the city’s most lovely ladies, and occasionally the lesser males. When the market is lacking in promise, Malum isn’t short of outright kidnapping and theft. He’s usually able to cover his tracks decently well or beat the hell out of anyone who questions him otherwise. Malum makes his business in his neighborhood bar, which is in his own poorly ventilated, secured dungeon of a home. While the top level poses as an ordinary, neglected home, he runs his businesses in the underground stories. Below the ground not many screams can penetrate the stony walls or several feet of soil. More of a human sty than lower apartment, Malum keeps his prospects here. One typically rents out the key to the home for a night of fun so long as he gets it back the next morning. Anything of value to Malum is locked up somewhere secret and safe in need of yet another key that is also…secret and safe. While there are some crude restraints for the safety of customers and property, most non-sharp objects are also allowed in Malum’s crude business if they pass inspection. Though a more recent resident of Sunberth, he’s easily found a name for himself in the cage fights at Tall Johnny's. Fit, swift, and strong as a Jamoura, Kostaja is a bull in the ring, be it made of rope or the gamblers. While not educated by any means, he shows cunning in his fights and craftiness on the streets, as if his fists weren't enough. As with most of the city’s residents, Kostaja has his own flaws and addictions. His resides on the more sensual side. Kostaja, while a fairly attractive man, even seductive to an extent, isn’t the most self controlled. Known by Brega for being a horrible abuser, and he’s gotten the boot more than twice from Ruby's Sanctum. Needless to say, he can’t keep up honest romantic relationships. With there being a light at the end of every tunnel, Kostaja has found his light. Through the lovely street fighting network of Sunberth, Kostaja befriended Malum after beating his ass around a bit, and vice versa on other days. As a close friend and business partner of Malum’s, Kostaja has helped arrange and rig a number of fights to keep himself and Malum on the up-and-up. Through this Malum has even found prospect in Kostaja, an otherwise regular customer of his. Though rumor has it Kostaja has been the end of several of Malum’s rental sex slaves, Malum has never brought any light to the rumor. No one really confronts the hot headed Kostaja either out of fear of their own lives. Kostaja, fighter, abuser, and murderer…debatably.
