Hello all.

My real name is Francis, but people call me Fran. I hail from Dover, England.

I came across this site while browsing for a new place to play in. I came from a Chinese simulation game called SimRTK, and kinda got bored there with politics and such. I'm new to the fantasy genre, and I have had reservations skipping from real time historical simulations to a genre I have long considered as one for young people.

So imagine my surprise when I was able to force myself to read some of the articles here. This site is incredible, like it has a world all of its own away from the Tolkien universe. Beautiful, original and truly worthy of great writing. I hope to be able to meet the standards here.

I hope to be able to meet a lot of new friends here, and hopefully be able to come up with new things and concepts to share with you all. In fairness, I think I'm going to have a tough time being original here because as far as I can see this site in itself is truly unique.

Don't worry about being original, it comes when it comes. A good way to get your creative juices flowing is to peruse people's character sheets, or articles. Yes, definitely read articles.

Welcome indeed! And yes, you'll find quite a few not so young writers on this site! Though perhaps we are still young at heart! That said though quite a few of the most famous fantasy novelists have been quite old so age is no bar the the genre.

I had my reservations about jumping into fantasy too, but it has been such a refreshing change. The world here is just utterly amazing. So are the people! I can't get over how friendly, helpful, nice and talented everyone is.

I am not sure if you know me from SimRTK, but my name there was Yin Xianmei (which is also my real Chinese name) and I used to roleplay in Li Jun's Kingdom, together with Sorian (Li Peng, the Demon of Nanzhong). I'm glad you found this site!
