So. Many. People.
Desthemond stood against the wall, his back flat against it, his left hand pressed hard against the brick, his right hand holding his staff. He was dressed in his usual loose black clothes, his hands and feet wrapped as normal. Thank goodness he had wrapped them extra tightly today. He smiled, as usual, but his eyes held a wide hysterical sort of fear. Somehow, he had gotten himself in the center of a busy part of the city. And now, he was stuck, standing against some building or another trying to inch away without touching anyone.
In his panic he tried to recall just how he got himself into this mess.
It was very early morning and there were few people out on the street. Having just arrived in the city recently, Desthemond found this to be the perfect opportunity to take the time and explore. The buildings were magnificent, the walls that encompassed it all were grand, even the streets were well paved. Desthemond, however, paid no mind to any of this. He had found a button on the ground, silver, shiny. His eyes lit up with wonder and he promptly stashed it. Searching the area nearby, he found another one. He marveled at his luck and continued, eyes on the ground, seeking out more of these precious treasures.
Without realizing it, he had wandered off into the middle of a market with traders and merchants advertising their wares. As he was still crouched, a man in a hurry ran into him, stumbling and running off, cursing Desthemond loudly. He promptly stood up and looked around, suddenly aware of the large number of people that seemingly appeared out of nowhere. He cringed, his smile full of fear, and tried to run without touching the crowd, his arms held closely against himself. The problem was, if he ran up or down the path, he only met surges of people coming toward him who unavoidably bumped or brushed him. The only choice he had was to move off of it, against the little bit of space there was right next to one of the buildings.
And so, here he was. His heart pounded, his breathing was fast and panicked. If he couldn't get out of here, he felt he would surely explode.
