Bojovnik nodded to Tyrell marveled at his outstanding work at subduing the bandits. It was starting to seem way too easy, but he hoped it was just all good luck. "Nice job Tyrell" Bojovnik said as he hit one of the bandits on the back of the head. The bandit cursed under his breath as Bojovnik hit him again. He looked around the room. It had a desk two chairs a cabinet and another room over to the side. It didn't make sense how could these bandits who were supposed to be huge and dangerous bandits. Yet they were running scared in a poorly made hideout. Things weren't adding up and Bojovnik wanted answers.

The bandits were now sitting in a half circle around each other on the floor. As he walked around them Bojovnik motioned for Tyrell to check the desk. "Well my good friends lets get down to business shall we? Were's Deviano? Don't be shy, the Ebonstryf would like a few words with you." That seemed to wake them up and it was clear at least one of them seemed to have a much more professional look. "That's me." The man stood up. "Well I got a few questions for you Deviano." Bojovnik said with a smile as he punched Deviano in the gut. He ached forward in pain only to be greeted with a right hook to the face.

"Ah screw you Stryfer!" Deviano spit at him as he took a knee sitting on the ground. "Stay here Marcico" Bojovnik enjoyed this fear people got from the mention of the Ebonstryf and he loved how stupid and quick people were to instantly believe his lie. He walked up over to Tyrell. "Find anything? We might need to move these guys to some other place know anything we could use?" Bojovnik said in a hushed voice so the bandits wouldn't hear them.Tyrell seemed like a man with connections so he should be able to have some safe house someplace around the city. It wouldn't be safe to stay in a building two people knew that they were at and Bojovnik needed to go back to his contact for the next part of the job.

Inoadar made a conscious effort not to wince at Bojovnik's use of the name 'Tyrell'. Even though it was not the name he used in town, which, in turn, was also not his true name, it was the name he would associate with any message from Bojovnik in the future. If he was to arrive home and be notified that a message came for 'Tyrell', he would not have to be told it was from Bojovnik. NOW he would have to consider the possibility that it was these bandits tracking him down.

Again, it only showed that Bojovnik was smart enough to assume he hadn't given him his real name. it wasn't his fault that he didn't know it still served a purpose. Perhaps, if he made no response, these 'bandits' would assume it was because he didn't care if they knew it. A name he didn't care about being compromised. He shrugged. Best now for Bojovnik to keep calling him that. Of course, the safest thing NOW would be to simply kill them all. Maybe later.

He did NOT try to hide his other reaction. He chuckled at the sheer luck that, of the three bandits, he had just happened to grab Deviano with the knife to the throat. 'No wonder the other two had been so cooperative, they want their pay! Professionals DO care about that too.' he laughed to himself.

He rifled through the drawers. Finding nothing of importance, he gave a shake of the head when Bojovnik asked him. He was about to inform him that, while he had made a few connections, he was not in so deep with anyone as to have access to their safe houses, when it occurred to him that there had been something wrong with the desk.

He pulled one of the drawers back out. He realized what it was now. The drawer came to end too soon. he pulled one of his Tamo daggers and laid it in the drawer. He had to turn it diagonally to make it fit. He took the same dagger and laid it on top of the desk. There was a good six inches to spare. Even the presence of braces and the thickness of the wood didn't account for that much difference.

"I think there's a compartment behind the ends of these drawers. It doesn't mean there's anything in it, but I'm sure it's there." His voice strained with the effort to pull the drawers out, but they were blocked somehow.

"A compartment? Deviano what are you hiding?" Bojovnik said to him in a chuckle looking back at the bandit and his friends. He slightly moved Tyrell to the side and looked at the drawer. If it was pulled it wouldn't budge or go out. Looking under the desk he was some strange carvings in it. "Hey Tyrell you know what this shit means?" Bojovnik asked as he stood up to look at the other side. With all the weapons Tyrell seemed to be hiding it was starting to make Bojovnik a little uneasy but he didn't let his emotions show.

"Okay something is hiding inside but no way to get to it. Strange carvings under the table that don't make sense. To make them make sense we need...a cipher. Bingo!" His strange thinking was paying off once again. "We need to find the cipher right? Like something to decode the message? If im correct on all that." Bojovnik said to his partner who seemed very smart in the hole espionage thing. The only way he even knew what a cipher was was from some old stories he heard as a slave.

"Well look who knows what will happen if-" Deviano shut up when he saw Bojovnik looking at him. The other two bandits were defiantly starting to get scared. Bojovnik knew how to keep people in line and he wasn't afraid of it. "Hey no talking!" Bojovnik screamed at them and they didn't want to mess with him you could see it in their eyes.

Inoadar looked at Bojovnik impatiently. "I'm not a cryptographer. I know a little bit about it, but it would take me bells to figure it out. We don't have time, just chop the da-..." Anxiety flashed across his face and he turned and pointed at the three men. "Kill any one that moves! I'll be right back." He slipped quickly out of the room.

There was a curse and the sound of running steps on the stairs. A chime later, the stairs again took a beating and Inoadar threw the door open, stepping back and looking around to make sure Bojovnik was still in control before he entered. He hurried in, holding some thin rope.

"Everyone's gone, the clerk, the guy on the stairs, customers, everyone! I locked the door and blocked it shut, but it won't hold against a team effort. We need to get out of here. Did you chop that desk open?" he turned towards the three men, drawing his Tamo daggers and kicking the rope towards them. "We only need Deviano...alive."

He let the look of malice build on his face as the look of fear built on the two underlings' faces. He pointed a dagger at the man on the left "You! Tie him up." he ordered, indicating the other underling.

"Don't do it!" Devianio shouted at him. The man's desperate eyes flashed back and forth between Inoadar and Deviano.

Inoadar shrugged and twisted open his cane, lifting the blowgun to his lips. "Suit yourself, we can't have you following us."

The man's eyes nearly burst from his face, "NO!! Okay, okay, I'll do it." For a second he seemed genuinely uncertain if it was okay to get up from the chair to grab the rope. Inoadar kept the blowgun poised on him, knowing that HE could use the rope as a weapon and wanting to discourage such thoughts.

Trusting in his partners ideas on the subject Bojovnik hoped over the desk and began trying to break the desk open. A few chops in with his axe and the drawer was starting to get loosened. With a great heave it flew open. A small envelope was hidden inside that Bojovnik quickly got. By the time he looked up Tyrell was already inside again. He didnt hear what was going on but guessed it was bad.

He held up the envelope to show Tyrell and nodded towards him. Again Tyrell did something with his cane that Bojovnik still couldn't figure out. They needed to get out quickly and if Deviano needed to be tied it would take to long. "Dont touch the rope. You two can go dont follow us or I will kill you. Deviano isnt going to run from us Tyrell. Do you know why." Bojovnik turned and looked at him butting on his most cynical and crazy face he could muster. "because you cant run when your bleeding" With that said Bojovnik pulled up his axe and swung it at Devianos knee." The bandit cried out in pain. "GOD DAM YOU!" Was the only words to escape his mouth.

Bojovnik pulled him up from his shoulders and shoved him towards the window. "Get going we dont have time for your bull crap unless you want another leg broken." That seemed to get him moving. Climbing down the crates Bojovnik saw a deserted alley way the three could go down he pointed to it showing Deviano which way to go and also so Tyrell knows as well. At the end of the alley was deserted looking house that Bojovnik kicked the door into. With no screams coming out it was clear they had no other guest inside. A small chair sat next to a table in the living area. Bojovnik shoved Deviano down onto it.

Looking around the house it had cobwebs and rotting away walls. Bojovnik saw tyrell looking out a window and walked up to him. "We should be good now" He handed the envelope to him. "What does it say?"

Inoadar stared in shock as the mercenary struck at Deviano's knee. He tried not to show it as the two others got up and ran from the room. His irritation grew as he was forced to wipe up the blood as best he could so there'd be no trail.

He saw where Bojvnik and Deviano went. Fortunately there was no indication of any tenant in the deserted-looking building. By the time he got there, his extra shirt was wet and bloody. He immediately took up position at the window to watch for signs of pursuit. Bojovnik approached him, letter in hand. "WE should be good now. What does it say?"

He bunched up his bloody shirt, threw it at Bojovnik's feet and scowled, "We should be GOOD now?' What's the matter with you?" he hissed, "Are you TRYING to lead them to us? Maybe you didn't hear me back there, but we already have TWO loose ends that could get...people...on our trail. Now you've just let the other two go! And my disguise shirt is ruined...AND my waterskin is empty from wiping up his blood!"

"Maybe you think they're going to keep their mouths shut. Well, once they think they've got nothing to lose, they'll make up some BS to put the Eb-... those bastards on our trail."
he swung his hand back at Deviano, grimacing and holding his bloody knee. "And with you splitting his god damned leg open, he's going to be leaving a big one! Sure, No, we don't want him to run, but we DO want him to be able to WALK!"

He took the letter, his eyes narrowing as he glared at Bojvnik, "Is there something you know? Some reason why you don't think we have to worry about that?" He took a step back, his hand going to his tamo dagger set, but not pulling it. "Maybe you think you'll sell me out to them and keep the job all to yourself? And don't tell me I can trust you just because we had a deal! There's an old saying: 'A handshake deal, plus two coppers, equals two coppers'. And that's all we had, a handshake deal. Don't think I've forgotten it."

"Right because a few guys running scared of an old man and his younger friend is going to spark more of an investigation than four bodies! What were we going to drag all three of them out if the building at once. God dammit why don't you think for a second. Its not like anyone's going to come after someone who took one little bandit anyway!." Tyrell's anger was pointless to the point that Bojovnik was getting to the point of fighting.

"If you could walk you can run away from captors! This bitch isn't going to do anything that makes our job so much easier." He looked back at deviano then turned to Tyrell again. "You don't trust people do you?" Bojovnik was the same way but it looked like he would need to do something this time around in order to gain some trust. He pulled off his belt dropping his axe and sword to the ground. "But I do. So lets stop fighting and work this out alright?" He held his hands up showing no surprise tricks were in store for him.

"Great I got kidnaped by two guys who are most likely going to kill eachother. My moneys on that big mercenary guy, but grandpa you look pretty tough to." A small snicker came from Deviano in the corner

Inoadar spun angrily to take a pair of menacing steps towards Deviano, "Hey, shithead, It's your leg I'm concerned about, so show some appreciation! I could knock your damn teeth out and you could still walk just fine! So keep your mouth shut."

He turned back to Bojovnik, gesturing back up the street, "The blood back there on the floor will spark enough of an investigation. I can't be sure that I cleaned up what was smeared on the window sill enough to prevent them from finding the trail of it leading here! If there was a body there to account for the blood, they might not start looking at all."

He could see that the mercenary was on the verge of taking a swing at him. He took a deep breath and popped his hands palms up for a second as he shook his head. "Okay, okay, what's done is done. Yeah, I've trusted people in the past and most of the time, I've regretted it. Maybe I'm due for a change. Let's see what's in here..."

He opened the envelope with some eagerness and flipped the folded page open before him. His attempt to show no emotion was less than successful as a wide range of them flashed across his face. Eyes wide, he looked up at Bojovnik, mouth twitching open is if trying to find words.

Bojovnik could see something seemed to stir Tyrell up. It was ovious by the look on his face. "Well what does it say? Is something wrong?" It had to be something directly related to Tyrell himself its the only way anything like this could fit. Bojovnik debated about taking the letter but felt it would be better for Tyrell to explain it himself. So instead he walked back to Deviano.

"Why should I keep you alive! Whats your purpose in all this." Bojonvik punched him in the face. Hoping his message would be clear. Deviano only responded with laughter. "Am I missing the joke?" All this was starting to feel really strange and weird. Nothing was making sense to Bojovnik at the moment. "You don't know who he is do you! That's great, don't worry this Tyrell isn't who he claims to be. Isn't that right Trandino Adarius? Or is it Inodair now...that is what you go by now don't you?" Deviano tried to say some more words but was meet with another punch to the face.

"Shut up!" Bojovnik screamed at Deviano until he turned back to Tyrell. "What is he talking about? Who is Inodair?" Nothing was making any sense to him and he hoped this letter would shed some light on things.

It was too late. He hadn't checked his reaction quickly enough. It would be easy enough to insist it was all lies, but he could see that Bojovnik could tell there was truth in it. What was he to do now? Attack Bojovnik? Kill him? The name 'Trandino Adarius' was a death sentence back in Nyka.

He stared at the artist's rendition of his face on the paper before him. The description of his height, his weight, his crime. In his disguise, he could fool people easily enough, but he can't go the rest of his life with putty and oils and powders and dye on his face. Or wigs, or having to remember to fake a limp or speech impediment.

He cleared his throat, "Reward for death or capture. Trandino Adarius. 5' 10", 175 lbs., dark hair, dark eyes. May be living under the name 'Inoadar'. Scars on right cheek, back and left arm. Missing second toe of right foot. Former member of The Second Edict in Nyka, from whom this warrant extends. The amount of 300 Gold Mizas awarded for the return of his head, 500 Gold Mizas for his return alive. Reward can be obtained at the CEB. Wanted for the Murder of Torveno Marcico, elder of The Second Edict..."

He let the paper sag as he looked from Bojovnik to Deviano, "There's more, but it's...just routine...'Torveno Marcico'...Your father?"[/i] Deviano's glare confirmed the unspoken answer. He turned to Bojovnik. "So...now you know...I've been under a death sentence for the last 5 or 6 years. It's necessitated the developments of some of the skills I possess."

"LIAR!" Deviano exploded, "Those 'skills', as you call them, are what you used to KILL him. You're a murderer! Nothing more. My father was a great man! He was a leader. He-..."

"He was a FOOL!" Inoadar's voice was like breaking glass, "Like ALL you Nykans! Government by committee" his voice dripped with scorn. "It's a joke! Those worthless Celestials do nothing but argue. They do nothing to run the city. it's all left to the MONKS! But do THEY acknowledge their contribution? NO..it's all 'by the grace of Xannos, or Skerr', "Laat grant me the wisdom', 'Uphis give me strength'...They're too stupid to realize they run that cursed city themselves! They don't need those 'gods". His voice sang with contempt.

Deviano's face looked ready to burst. "BLASPHEMY!! You filthy spawn of devils! Rhysol be your 'salvation' then, dog! And Uldr embrace your soul!" he turned to Bojvnik, "KILL HIM! Not only would it gain you a share of the reward, it would be JUSTICE! If you care about such things!"

"Blasphemy' you say...So said your father as well. His intolerance and his blindness was what led to his death...'Justice'..." Inoadar's contempt was almost a living presence. "Is that what you call killing a young man who questions an unworthy authority? I did what I had to do, and I make no apologies to you or ANYONE!" He stepped forward, eyes blazing, and hammered Deviano with his fist. The man sagged in his seat.

Inoadar turned back to Bojovnik. "Well, the choice is yours, then. It's true, I am worth money to the two of you. But I won't go willingly, believe that!" He put a knife to the throat of the unconscious Deviano. "And it will only be you fighting me." A look of sudden inspiration crossed his face. "Or...we can have it BOTH ways. I am leaving, I will drag Deviano to the door, you can say I used him as a shield and hostage. It won't truly be a lie, either. Meet me here in two days. I am going to see about faking my death in such a way that you can collect the reward."

And with that, he dragged Deviano to the door and stepped out.

OOC continues here.
