Market Day

Postby Ma'adele on August 14th, 2012, 11:58 pm

25 th of summer 512

Ma'adele wanted to get to the marketplace early before the goods had sold out or in low quantities. Her mission for the day was to buy a set of mulicolored oil paints, brushes, canvases, and a paint mixing plate. Her eagerness made her run to the booths. She looked over some fabrics for the sundress she had in mind to get made and common low budget leather for sandels. She soon went to the second ring of booths and found a small group of artists gathered together. "Would any of you have oil paints and all the other stuff for creating oil paints? I need a set of everything for a reasonible and cheap price. Watercolors also work for me." She said loud enough for them all to hear her.

Market Day

Sphinx Says...Hey there! I decided to hop in quickly and mod your transaction before hopping back out. :)

The Inarta in the group turned as the Konti addressed them, and as uncannily as possible, they smiled as one.

"You want pain supplies? Now why would a pretty little thing like you want with something dirty like paints? You should be in entertainment, or in healing. I can think of a few people that would enjoy your hands working on their bodies." One said. Her green eyes blazed as she teased and her companions laughed along with her.

"I can sell you what you need," one that seemed to be a brother of hers said. "Cheap? Not really, but they are in a reasonable quality." He had a low voice that was both somewhat creepy and mildly comforting. It could have just been the way he looked, though. His hair was nearly jet black in comparison to the flaming redheads around him, and the way he stood out could be explanation to the oddness of his voice.

He gestured to her to follow him to his stall, and as she did his friends accompanied them. The girl had this leer on her face that made the Konti feel almost like she was being appraised by a prospective buyer.

"These are my wares." He gestured to the display on his stall. "Paints are several pinions, depending on the colours. The harder to find ingredients make my most expensive paints easily worth everything you're wearing right now."

"You should buy those." The female Inarta said, to more laughter.

The male smiled, and pulled up a roll of parchment from beneath the stall. "This is about five pinions, brushes are a pinion each, and as for a way to create paints? I suggest looking for the biggest, juciest bugs and making paint yourself."

More laughter followed his words and his smile grew broader. This group of friends certainly was an odd bunch.

Ma'adele should have known this group wouldn't be the most welcoming bunch. In was blunt how they were teasing and bulling her. But she stood her ground and acted like it didn't phase her. "How about I will show you what I can do and see if I can be of use? I can do commissions of anything. Can you get rid of the others? I rather set up a deal one on one, you know?"

Market Day

Postby Anterra on August 15th, 2012, 9:29 pm

Anterra's voice drifted up from the market stall just down the way "Do all Inarta treat people the same?" The Kelvic growled, moving up towards the group, the mark of a StormWarden on his right shoulder, the swirling white hurricane. "Does it take many to treat one so poorly, to do business?" He asked, more demanded, as he looked at the crowd "Be about your business folks. The Female only wishes to buy paints." He looks at the salesman, a soft word growled "Now do you plan to sell this woman some paints, or do I need to buy them myself Salesman?" He asked, drawing out a pouch of mizas.

Smiles turned mean really fast once Anterra approached. The woman that had done all the teasing now seemed to be baring her teeth. The owner of the stall seemed to find this all amusing, and the rest of them made dismissive grunts. The Kelvic was unimpressive.

"I don't care who buys as long as I get paid," the man said. That didn't mean that he would charge fairly now. "Lexi, its time for you to go back to your stall. I'll talk to you later."

Lexi, the woman, glared at him for a moment. She said something sharply in Nari, which came out to "I was only flirting," before she turned on her heel and left. Divided, the others they were with scrambled for a moment in confusion before heading after her.

"Now then. What can you do, little Konti?" He said slowly. "Do you have plans to buy from me today? I don't think you'll get better deals than the ones I offer."

"Thank you." She whispered to Anterra. "I would line a varity of small & medium brushes, a roll of parchment, blue, gold, red, green, white, black, and a varity of basic brown paints. What is the damage? Are you sure you don't want to give my skills a try? I can make us good pinions." She said staying close to the kelvic as she pulled out her coin purse. She took out 50 to 60 pinisons.

Anterra displayed his teeth before his words in Nari came out "I can understand too." He stated before looking at the Konti "Why do you thank me? I did nothing for you. Fair treatment for all." The StormWarden stated as he turned to make his way down the stalls, continuing on his way to find the items he came to find. A Set of leathers, armor for his new task of protecting his bond-mate, his form moving with slow, animal grace. He looked over many of the stalls, stopping in front of the one the female Inarta had gone to. "I seek a suit of leather armor. Doesn't need to be high grade. But it can't be too costly." He spoke, in basic Nari, his voice soft, compared to the harsh tones of before.

"You want a job with me, you go see at the Valintar. There are others who have a say, not only myself." He seemed somewhat surprised she didn't already know that. Everyone who wasn't Inarta and therefore who was not assigned a caste was told to approach the Valintar for housing and employment. That was the way things worked here.

"Since you're already bringing out the pinions, it will be fifty-three of them," he said. His smile returned. He liked the thought of being paid. "Of course, if you're up for bartering, I like that fancy dagger there."

The suvai.

Anterra
"You want leather, but not expensive leather? Do you intend to stop a bird's talons with it, or a sword, boy?" Lexi had a teasing smile on her face as her eyes roamed up and down the form of the Kelvic. She shrugged, the action turning out to be even more suggestive than it could ever be, and gestured to the items that lay most prominent. Simple worked leather in the forms of sontav, boots and saddles. She didn't have much in the way of armour.

"I don't produce too much armour. Most of my customers are the Endal, who have all the defense they need, and the chiet, most of whome buy to supply the yasi looking to learn falconry. I can take an order from you though and in a week or two, have it completed for your scrutiny. What would you like?"

" I can't part with my weapon. It was craved by my mother to keep me safe on my journey. Also it will poison all those that are not konti. So the slightest mishandling can risk your very life. It maybe a rare weapon to come by evenmore so than a konti but it is not worth it. Trust me, I have seen what it can do to hunting pray." She smirked and did her best to have a miscivious spark in her eyes. "So lets just take a couple of the medium sized brushes off my order to see if that narrows the cost. You can't possibly leave a delicate thing like me without some money to her name." If that would not work she would have to hurry to catch up to the other male that had her back from before to split the bill or have him pay for her.
