1st Day of Fall

Sevris stared at the amazing sight of his Commander. Even though his left arm looked as if it weren’t real, it engrossed the young examine it even more to examine it. But what caught his eyes were the frightening rigid eyes of the combatant, it made the Apprentice uneasy at the sight. But he quickly turned his attention to the battle at hand. He unsheathed his Double-Bladed sword and held it in front of himself in fighting position.

Things had taken a turn for the worse. Upon hearing that one of his soldiers was beaten and bested by an Apprentice. Hearing that the upcoming Apprentice was of Lazarin did not deter him from formerly challenging Sevris. He wanted to find out what all the buzz was, and if he was really as strong as everyone said he was.

There was no wind in the chambers, making it deathly quiet. Muz withdrew his Masahira daito. The long blade resembled a katana, but it was much too large, looking more like a tetsubo. Sevris took a deep breath and stood in his battle stance. Then he suddenly broke out into a charge, straight at the waiting Commander, no need to make this any more dramatic than it already was.

With marveling speed that left the Lazarin shocked, Muz swung his blade, which connected with the Double-Blade, causing sparks to shower at their faces. His speed stopped Sevris from even attempting to counter-attack. He knew that and began to formulate a plan while blocking the savage attacks that Muz threw at him.

Muz was obviously superior in this fighting style. While his strength had matched the young Apprentice, his speed kept his opponent from really doing anything. It was almost a flawless battle style. Sevris did a somersault backwards avoiding a deadly blow, and then coming in swinging stance. He feinted for the Muz’s head, and then swung down and across his body, hoping to clip his shoulder or knee-but missed entirely.

The swing left his neck exposed and he hoped that Muz would take the bait. All it would take was step toward him and a pivot of his hips to send the Commander flying towards the ground.

Muz’s Masahira daito danced through the air, slicing towards the Apprentices unprotected neck.

Sevris stepped toward his foe and began his pivot.

He too changed targets. Instead of following through on his attack at Sevri’s neck, Muz leaped through the air, spun and to face him dead-on, and struck at his left arm. Sevris heard a faint, moist sound that repulsed him. He had no idea what happened until he tried to follow through with his pivoting blow. The commander had hit him hard with the backside of the blade. It had been a nerve stopping hit that lifted him slightly off the ground and sent him flying to the ground.

This was not the first time that he had been utterly schooled by someone before. But that didn't make the experience any harder. The commander was relentless in his assault against Sevris. He rolled to a pause attempting to stop the momentum of the hit. It hurt, badly. But he would have to fight through that pain in order not to receive graver ones at the hands of Muz.

Standing back on his feet he returned to a shaky stance. Knowing the inevitable would happen sooner or later. "Better to die then to give up. We are unforgiving." Muz said before he charged again. He was putting well placed attacks against Sevris, fortunately the defensive trait of a Double-bladed sword is to block faster in tight places.

Which was all he could do to hold off the barrage of attacks. Plus he was injured making any real attempt more and more fruitless. Finally when Sevris stabbed forward hoping to put up some type of offensive effort, Muz swung upwards and caught Sevris's hand with the backhand of the blade yet again.

His hand made an awkward sound he lost the grip on his weapon in his hands. The commander was going to capitilize on it when suddenly someone yelled, "Time!" The sword stopped short of Sevris as Muz stepped back and sheathed his weapon.

There wasn't usually time given to combatants to recover, just a one round one knockout or submission round. But against Commanders they bend the time because its not impossible to best one but you usually need a lot more time to do so because they are tough.

Sevris limped back to his corner alone to no second. His only consultant was his mind, and the god Rhysol. But he was able to catch his bearing and his breath. The pain in his body did not quite subside but he rested as much as he could with the short time remaining.

He was furious with himself. Beaten soundly without a proper fight was angering him to no end. But all he could hope to do at the moment was hold of his attacks the until the final round ended. How was that even possible when he was at his head attacking him constantly. Putting up an offense was close to impossible.

For the duration of the fight, he had tried to observe any type of weaknesses the Commander might have. To his distaste he found no obvious ones. So he was trying to use his own intellect to plan evasive actions on the Commander. Unfortunately, not many alternatives sprang in his mind.

The bell ring as the referee signaled for the combatants to return they fighting stances. Cautiously Sevris went back into his fighting stance, as did Muz who was waiting calmly as ever. "Time in!" Muz made no sudden moves but began to pick up a rotating pace around Sevris which he mimicked instantly. Trying not to get to close to his opponent.

This was a bonus round so he had to hold out for a longer round, because he clearly wasn't taking this. But there was a way to at least make it a draw, if he could just outlast him. Deciding not to seem completely at his whim, Sevris charged forward, covering the 5 feet distance between them and began to swing at the mid section of Muz, but the swing turned into a wild swing as he jumped back to avoid it.

He dashed around it and struck forward with a kick to his head. Which Sevris blocked, but he didn't block the second kick to the to his side. The Lazarin felt the blow to his side but had the gall to return a similar kick to. It was parried but it allowed Sevris to create some space. But Muz noticed this and tried to close the gap back up. He dashed forward attacking him with consistency, Sevris still providing limited defense before he succumbed to the assault.

Notes: Hmm.. this thread seems incomplete, but if you feel it is done, then I shall grade it. Just a note, try to avoid the katana-like weapons. In Mizahar, they are incredibly rare and valuable, and few people actually use them. Otherwise, good work, and keep writing!
