Eris grinned slightly as they approached the Rearing Stallion. Today was a busy day for the bar – patrons ducking in and out of the doorway every few minutes. That was certainly good news for their present situation. Eris decided that the three of them looked suspicious enough as it was – especially with Julian’s intimidating size. At a quieter time, somebody might have chosen to pick a fight with them, but with the bar being so full, nobody would bother.

Eris pushed open the door, scanning the room with a practiced eye. She had been in here quiet often - mostly to observe, to listen for news, but she was usually alone. She hadn’t had much practice in dining with others, but she figured that she’d let Julian take the lead. He was the one who invited them, after all.

She wondered why the man was so quite. Was it simply a shy streak in his character or something more? Regardless, she found that she rather liked the silence. It was a welcome break for the chatter that seemed to surround most people.

John did follow the group even if he even saw it as a odd group of people. A large man who looked like he could kill with his bare hands, a female who looked like she would poison you to death and then just the limping John and the sad thing was it did sound like a bad joke when the three of them entered the bar.

Once they found a table he would sit last, not out of distrust but out of the simple fact he did not want to get in the way of where they wanted to sit. He knew the owner of the stallion would not mind the fox due to the fact most would think of them as a kelvic and not really a wild pet.

He would just get a basic house meal and maybe some ale yet he was not much of a drinker it was still something he grew up with even at his young age. "So...What is it that you two enjoy?" He asked after a bit as he leaned in the table letting them hear his voice.

As they crossed the bar and found a seat Julian remained silent, feeling some eyes bore into him. Perhaps they felt intimidated? Or perhaps they were concerned of the large man. Either way, the emotions could be felt from the stares. Oddu on the other hand did not seem to mind, panting a little still after the excitement of his playing. The young man sat last, opening up the start of the conversations.

'What sort of thing do I enjoy? Not really much to be truthful. I should still give him an answer.' "Carving. Oddu. Kids. Company." he said listing off a few things, almost seeming random. His carving was obvious, and who could not enjoy the fox glancing around the busy room. However, kids and company may have been considered a bit confusing, not being given much detail on the two subjects.

He could still feel some eyes boring into his back as he awaited a bit of service which caused him to look back towards the source. As he did, a few faces suddenly turned away from the masked man who looked back towards the table as well, hands clasped together on the surface of it, thumbs twiddled over the seconds.

So this was to be an interrogation of sorts – how intriguing. It was certainly the easiest way to get to know someone. Eris leaned back in her chair, arms folded across her chest as she listened to Julian’s answer. Just a list of disjointed words, but each of them held something behind them. More so than an entire speech on one’s preferences ever would. What was she to say? Wouldn’t it be so typical for an assassin to say: I live killing? Eris almost laughed. She didn’t like killing – derived not the least bit of enjoyment from it. But she did like the feeling of knocking an opponent’s blade out of their hand, the satisfaction of holding a dagger against someone’s throat… But there was also sketching and Rhine and… That was it, really – just her sketchpad and her horse. How pathetic.

“I enjoy sketching and spending time with my horse,” Eris said. “And then there’s my dagger.”

How very childish she sounded to her own ears. Like some kind of personal advertisement. What she wanted to ask was why Julian wore that mask. Was it some kind of terrible disfigurement or simply a need to keep a barrier between himself and the world? But she realized that there were some personal boundaries that just shouldn’t be crossed.
