A meeting of clay and flesh [Nira'lia]

Ball and Nira train with unarmed techniques

While Sylira is by far the most civilized region of Mizahar, countless surprises and encounters await the traveler in its rural wilderness. Called the Wildlands, Syliran's wilderness is comprised of gradual rolling hills in the south that become deep wilderness in the north. Ruins abound throughout the wildlands, and only the well-marked roads are safe.

A meeting of clay and flesh [Nira'lia]

The clay being was at a point of undeniable pain. His body was being squeezed so tightly that Nira could literally feel that he no bones, no physical structure... Something did give resistance in the deep center of the spherical being's being. And that “thing” giving resistance was Ball's entire existence and currently it was trying to figure out how to remove Ball from this death trap. Think you piece of mushy clay! THINK! The pycon couldn't squirm, his mind turned to mush...

That's it! as the Pretty Lady Pycon squeezed his clay being Ball went with the flow, squeezing himself out between her middle and ring fingers and then pushing himself towards the Konti's body, it was an easy target and not one she could dodge easily enough. And once more in mid air the Pycon managed to roll itself into it's standard shape before hitting impact which would rest someplace in the lower region of her ribs.

The small being could literally be seen rotating backwards, not forwards, in an attempt to slow down, but the gap between hand and Nira's body was too close... So slowing down wasn't possible... Luckily though, he wasn't going very fast either, just fast enough to impact with a noticeable hit.

Once he contacted, if he was lucky enough, the next move was to slink his way upwards, and proceed gently poking at her eyes with small clay tentacles, taking great care not to hurt her in anyway at that point. The poking and his upward movement would feel like soft tickling, well.. As soft as a being made of clay can make such movements.

As Ball is getting closer and closer to maxing out Pyken as a skill, I would like to request that in places where Ball is not doing enough to constitute Pyken XP if Pyken technique lores could be issued instead.

Examples of proper XP level for Pyken would be: Ball developing or refining his technique by adding new thing against an actual moving target, not a dummy.

The use of basic skills alone are not enough to accomplish XP at Ball's current level of Pyken.

Thank you.

A meeting of clay and flesh [Nira'lia]

Postby Nira'lia on November 11th, 2012, 6:40 pm

His attack hit its spot once again. Several parts of her body were sore now, though fortunately for her, it was the kind of pain she could tolerate. It was evident that Nira’lia was not skilled in combat at all, and it was even much harder for her to evade a tiny creature that moved as quickly as Ball. At such close proximity, she found it most difficult to make efficient movements that would protect her.

“Wha…?” she whispered under her breath, startled. Ball was shifting forms again. This time he seemed to be protruding tentacle-like limbs out of his being. Was he aiming for her eyes? She was sure that if he did so, it would hurt way too much! Considering how fast things were going, the Konti didn’t even realize that Ball was holding back. In the end, she refused to let him touch her eyes.

Nira’lia put her arms in front of her face and ducked, practically scrambling to the floor. She was only able to feel a slight tickle hit her arms, effectively evading his attack. She could see her suvai nearby and she grasped at it desperately.

She didn’t know why, but she was annoyed. Nira’lia didn’t enjoy battle and she knew she was terrible at it, but nonetheless, it felt dreadful to be overpowered by a creature that was basically as large as her palm. As soon as she grabbed her suvai, she held its handle tightly with both her hands and think of someone swinging a baseball bat at a ball ;D it right where she thought Ball was. She wasn’t even thinking, she forgot that this was a friendly match. Frustration had clouded her judgment.

Ball didn't move in time for the blunted three-bladed dagger to come careening his way and flat-blading him. It was a pretty solid strike and the unfortunate thing was that Ball had no real way to recover beyond being smacked hard and landing several feet on the ground. The spherical being's body was slightly flattened and could be seen heaving and rippling as the Pycon took in several deep breaths.

After a few seconds though the Pycon was once more launching towards the Konti. His body became slightly oblong in shape as he shot towards the suvai, it was an attempt to dislodge it from her hands, it was a desperate attack, but it was all he could do. Another smack with that blade and Ball had a feeling he would have to call it quit.

Either way, after I disarm her, it's quitting time. Pretty Lady Pycon looks a bit tired and frantic.

Once he was within range he feinted towards the dagger and using his back end wedging it between her hands and the hilt of the weapon. If he succeeded the next move was to wedge himself farther into her hands, spreading them outward like a wooden wedge would when splitting wood.
Once her hands were spread far enough he would flick his widened end against the dagger, sending it flying a few feet away from the combatants and then drop to the ground.

A meeting of clay and flesh [Nira'lia]

The Konti was indeed tired. She had unconsciously put all her strength into that last swing, and when she did, her mind was not quick enough to react to what came next. Nira’lia stood gripping the suvai, and she was just about to move to defend herself for any possible counters, but she was too slow.

Ball was soon upon her even before she could realize it. She couldn’t overpower him as he dislodged the suvai from her almost too easily. It pained Nira’lia when Ball was successful in his plan, and the suvai dropped to the ground for the second time. The weapon flew away from her hand and landed a few feet away.

Instead of rushing off in an attempt to get it back in her hold, Nira’lia instead plopped down on the grass and panted. She was exhausted. It was a fact that she needed to build up on endurance. “I concede!”

‘…I really am not cut out for this!’

The Konti was not exactly a weakling, but she was no match for those who had spent many of their days in combat training. She knew that if she kept practicing she would hopefully be able to be equal with them one of these days, but this day, she knew was too behind.

“That was great…” she laughed between heavy breaths. The Konti eyed the small creature. She looked utterly tired but also happy. “My heart is pumping really hard. I think it’s the adrenaline. Thank you.”

A meeting of clay and flesh [Nira'lia]

When the Pretty Lady Pycon conceded to Ball and she plopped to the ground the Pycon went and grabbed her Suvai for her and returned it to her. It was a funny action to see. Ball squirmed himself into a flattened out oval shape and sort of wiggled himself back towards her with the bladed weapon placed across his body. Once he was were she could pick the weapon up without having to reach for it Ball reformed his ball shape form, a split in his side pointing up towards her.

“Well.Ka.Um.” ['Welcome'] The tips of the split sort of rolled upwards a bit, it was the first time the pycon known as Ball actually showed any emotions outside of his body's occasional quivering and gasping for air movements that he did. His voice was still the bubbly monotone sound that he always had, but it was a start.

“Ne.Ee.Da. Moe.Er. Ter.an. Ge.It. Bed.Der” ['Need more training get better.'] Then the split folded in on itself and the Pycon rested with the Konti, his body moving up and down rather heavily as if he too was panting.
