A Knife In The Ribs (Wrenmae)

For the sheer frequency in which he was seeing gods, Wrenmae could not and would not get used to their presentation. Sometimes they were waves of water, swarms of pests, swirling chaos, and no this strange oscillating smoke and mirror trick. The words were for Ignotus, so Wrenmae wisely chose to hold his tongue. Instead he memorized the words with as much attention to detail as he could. The god spoke, and Wrenmae listened. His comrade was chastised for thinking things too easy...but for the god of manipulation, was this not what he wanted?

A pause. No. Certainly not. Ignotus had taken it a step farther. There was no subtlety to this. He left the brunt of the manipulation to a different agent, and the only task he took upon himself was using Wrenmae to find the location of his prize and then the money from his pocket to pay someone else to do it for him.

There was the trick of it. This was not manipulation, this was simply business.

So...Sagallius likes to make a game of things then. No sense in watching a boring game, he wanted Ignotus to face his opponent head on and take the object from him straight away...but almost certainly through manipulation and guile.

When the shadows stilled, Wrenmae did check the shadows, stepping into them, blade drawn.

But it found its sheathe shortly after, and he turned back to the nuit with a shrug and a rueful grin, "Not enough sport in it, I think," he said to the nuit, "But take heart..." he paused, "Preferably not mine. Your quarry is revealed to you again and you have a means to achieve it."

Out came the dagger again and Wrenmae paced, thrusting into the shadows and spinning about his partner, speaking as he moved. "Twirl, stab, thrust, and taste the blood of a fool too slow for your superior intellect. What fun this is! What grand manipulations you stand to achieve!"

He paused, turning on his foot and sheathing the blade. The night was silent around them, empty.

"Show me the mark," he said at last with an eager smile, "Tell me what it can do...what sort of power does the god of puppetry grant, hmm?"

He put a hand to his right arm, as if holding something back there. "Don't think me without repayment. You show me yours, and I'll show you mine."

This PC has the Blight gnosis. As such, you as a player need to be aware of what that consists of. Wrenmae has an invisible aura that amplifies sickness and disease. Wounds may become infected, small sneezes may become coughing, and a slight fever may become more serious. A nuit's body will also break down faster in the presence of the Blight. These effects may not be immediate, but within the few days following your encounter, the symptoms will manifest. Some sooner than others. I cannot control your character, so creativity will be left up to you. Best wishes and stay healthy!
