Bazaar Meeting (Beshira & Viper)

He gave a small bow of his head in reply to her thanks. Well now. So there was a softer side under that hard exterior. Interesting he thought. A small friendly smile reappeared as he unfurled his arms. He bagan to dig through a couple things in his pack as he called out over his shoulder. "And we are not leaving that thing here to rot or have some other animal eat it." He pulled out a bunch of rope he planned to use to haul their prize in triumphantly.

"And how in Mizahar are you going to camp out here for the evening? You don't have anything accept what you were carrying with ya. You'd freeze to death." He let out a small sigh and pinched the bridge of his nose, because he knew there was a 99% chance she would take his next offer TOTALLY wrong. "Look...don't take this the wrong way. But if it came down to it. I do have a tent. It's a 4 person tent, so ya won't be sleepin in my lap or anything, but it's not overly large either. Anyway...you're welcome to use it if ya want. Just throwin' it out there."

For some reason he didn't want to look her in the eye. He wasn't scared as much as ...embarrassed, perhaps? to offer that option. Quite frankly he didn't think they would be out there over night. But with this large of an animal to bring back, it would be to slow going to make it back to the city by nightfall. He just didn't want her to think he was trying a fast one. He quickly pulled out a hatchet and moved toward a small tree to start working on a makeshift sled to drag the animal on before she could respond.

Bazaar Meeting (Beshira & Viper)

Postby Beshira on December 14th, 2012, 4:45 am

"If we need to use it, then we will," Beshira said offhandedly, wiping her arrows down. Shooting a quick glance at the dead boar, she ran a few numbers through her head. Full grown Syliran boars could grow to be quite monstrous out in the Wildlands, this one looking like it might weigh in at around five hundred or so pounds, give or take fifty. "I don't know how much your horse can carry, so I won't try to make any judgment calls just yet on whether or not we'll have to stop and rest along the way." She pulled her quiver strap over her shoulder.

It wasn't often so often that she'd meet someone who would dare to assist her in a time of need when he had no clear obligation to do so. It might be worth looking into giving the man a chance, but there was a limit to how far she would take it. She drew her hood over her eyes and clutched her cloak tighter, taking a few weary looks to her sides. He was right, though. She didn't hunt so often during the winter seasons, and when she did, she preferred to avoid larger prey so that she wouldn't have to worry so much about her long walk back to Syliras.

"You asked for my name," Beshira said. "I figure that it's about time I ask for yours."

Bazaar Meeting (Beshira & Viper)

A bit of relief washed over him as she didn't seem to find his offer as offensive or sly as he suspected she might. He too quickly moved on, not giving it another thought. "Well, I'm not going to make poor Aeyan here try and carry this monster boar or whatever you call it." He stopped a moment as he began taking swings at the base of this young tree. "I'm going to creat a makeshift sled of sorts to drag it. Lot easier to drag something than it is to carry it. Besides, I don't think we'd be able to heft this thing in the air anyway." Viper finished with a small chuckle as the first tree fell.

He shot her a surprised glance when she inquired after his name. She actually wanted to know huh? After a quick hesitation he gave a small nod. "The name's Viper." He flashed her a friendly smile and began chopping off branches from small tree he just cut down moments earlier. "Oh, thanks for showing me the area. It would appear to be a pretty good spot for game..." Vipe didn't look at her again but let out a quick amused huph. "And fine shooting by the way." He was certainly not above giving credit where credit was due. Besides, his earlier comments were in jest anyway.

Having soon prepared enough suitable branches for what he had in mind, he got to work tieing them all together. A moment of silence got his mind to thinking about his temporary hunting partner. To break the silence he finally decided to ask. "So, have you always lived in Syliras?"

"Five years," Beshira answered, keeping a lookout along the border of the opening. She seated herself on a large dirt-embedded stone, folding one leg over the other and letting an ear open to the sounds of the wild. "Time passes quickly when you don't have to sleep at night and think about whether or not you'll live to see the morning." Twirling an arrow between her fingers, she gave the horse and its rider a quick glance."Let's just say this makes us one to one," she said, throwing back to the little remark Viper had made earlier when he had shot down that bird. "Or are we still keeping track?" She let out a light breath and gently rested her eyes, folding her hands in her lap. Something told her it was a good thing she'd come back.

Bazaar Meeting (Beshira & Viper)

Viper couldn't help but laugh at the comment. She really did take those kind of things to heart didn't she? He thought most amusingly to himself. "Well if we are still keeping count...Considering I had to help you for you to even finish the job. I'd really say it only counts as half a point. Which I suppose means I get the other half." He had waited till now to finally shoot her a wiry grin. "So I believe that means I'm still winning by one point darlin.' Better luck next time." He continued to laugh as he returned his gaze to his work and now moved the makeshift sled over to where the boar was laying.

Standing up straight, he took a moment to examine his work. Yes, that should be sturdy enough to support the beat all the way back to Syliras. "So five years huh? How do you find Syliras? Seems a bit crowded for someone with your apparent love of the outdoors."

"We'll never really know since you thought it would be a good idea to get in the way," Beshira smirked, cracking one eye open. "I told you not interfere, remember? And yes, Syliras can be heavily crowded at times, but I didn't choose to live there. At least not when I first arrived." She spotted a cub poking its head into a cove under a partially rooted tree, probably looking for some small animal that it had cornered. She considered taking aim and picking it off just to spite him, but she thought better of it, dismissing the idea to the back of her mind. "I'm generally not the prying type, but are you staying or just passing through?" Beshira finally asked him.

He rolled his eyes again and smirked at the initial comment. It wasn't worth going through the run around trying to win. He knew she both needed and appreciated his help. So that was good enough for him. "No I'm not staying. So don't worry. Ya won't have to worry about me buggin' ya beyond today." He gave a quick chuckle before continuing. "I'm actually on my way to Zeltiva. Been wanting to visit there for a while, and finally got the motivation to do it."

Viper nodded his head in a motion indication he wanted her to come to him. "Here, give me a hand for a sec and help me roll this beast over onto the sled." He knelt down next to the boar while waiting for her and then asked. "Out of idle curiosity. You said you didn't choose to live there? You were forced? I thought slavery wasn't allowed in Syliras...or was it something else? Ya don't have to answer if it's to personal or anything. Like i said, was just curious."

Bazaar Meeting (Beshira & Viper)

Dusting herself off, Beshira made her way to Viper and took her position next to him, giving the boar a firm push. "You could think of it like a contract," she grunted, feeling its weight shift under her hands. "I work, I stay." The animal fitted to the parameters of the sled to a fair enough extent, and that was good enough for her. She took a small step back and observed their handiwork. This could take some time. "I remember being in Zeltiva," Beshira responded, though the same could hold very true of many other regions she had passed through. Traveling had been a core part of her life up until she had stumbled into the castle-city of Syliras. "I didn't stay for very long, I'll tell you that much; I got into a brawl with some patrolling Waveguards and got myself kicked out of the city. Haven't been there for about five years since, though to be honest, I don't have much of a reason to traverse into other towns. I mean, I've done so on a few rare occasions but for the most part, it's a pleasant thing to be settled down in Syliras. When I'm not jumping head first into fistfights, anyway. Some things you just don't have much control over. I assume you're heading for Zeltiva to study?"

"Why am I not surprised you got yourself tossed out of Zeltiva?" He laughed as she recanted her tale of her time there and brushed off his hands after loading the animal up.. "And no. Not going there to study. To be honest...I don't really know why I'm going there. Been wanting to see more of Mizhar than just my homeland on the whole for a while. So honestly, I doubt I'll even stay there for too long."

It was then he looked up to the sky to get a glimpse of where the sun was. Hmm the day was moving along fast. If they wanted to make it back in time, they had better hurry. He brought Aeyan around and tied the rope which was connected to the sled to his saddle. "Well...ready to head back? Wouldn't want to get stuck out here for the night. Maybe I can buy ya a drink if we get back in time? Ya know, as a celebration for the kill?" He had a sincere smile on his face as he finished tieing the rope and turned toward her to see her response.

Bazaar Meeting (Beshira & Viper)

Postby Beshira on December 18th, 2012, 4:55 am

"I don't drink," Beshira said sourly, her initial encounters with alcohol bringing back livid memories of senseless violence and pain. Quite the unpleasant learning experience, if the incident - or rather incidents - could be compared to one. She didn't have to be reminded never to touch fermented beverages again, though the thought of it was tempting at times of great stress. "But that sounds about right," Beshira sighed, taking a glance at the boar and then back at the steed with a look of concern. "We should get going, though I don't think a horse can handle that much weight. We might have to split the boar and give us each a third, which we'll divide up and fit into our rucksacks. If you toss me a sword, we'll get this over with twice as quickly. Out in the Bone Fields, the weight of these things can grow well into the thousands. Even the most venerable of hunters will generally go out of their way to steer clear of that region, though from what I know, you won't really stumble into it unless you're actually searching for it, so you don't have too worry much."
