Past the TAR and through the gates the Follower would lead Cara and her companions into the Courtyard. The chilled and misted air hummed with excitement as ghosts and spirits of all shape and size appeared and disappeared, coming close to the path but stopped by the iron poles which held them at bay. Still, Cara would feel ghostly fingers tugging at her hair, her clothing, and no matter how she might lash out of fight she could do nothing to stop the curious prodding. It was as if the ghosts were examining her, as if they were eager to learn about her. Like they expected to see her again soon...

The path soon split, and the little golem would lead Cara down the left fork, passing through a large iron door into the Dungeons. Calls went up from those trapped behind bars and held in cages, and grimy think fingered hands would reach out, trying to touch the girl and pleading for release, mercy and, in some cases, death. All spoke of terrors, warned Cara of where she was, called for her to leave and never come back. At the end of the long corridor Cara would pass one holding cell in particular. Inside there sat a tall, handsome Akalak. Bloodied, bruised and weary, his eyes held closed in what could have been either sleep or death.

The corridor then curved, leading into darkness lit my a few spare torches. The path changed from smooth stone to jagged rock and natural caves. Glowing arrows began to shine in the dim light, pointing toward Cara's inevitable destination. The Follower would lead Cara for several chimes, perhaps a full bell, but finally they would reach the 7th level. Passing iron doors marked with their designation they would continue down a long narrow path until they reached an area where only a single door remained. On it was carved 7-M

"Destination has been reached." said the Follower, and without a word more it would turn and roll its way back the way it had come.

Here was Lab 7-M, and Cara stood before the door. Large, beaten and imposing. If she pushed it open her eyes would be set upon what looked like a battle field. The elements raged, fire scorching the sky, earth cracking and flying about. Ice shards scattered and wind howled as what looked like half a dozen reimancers fought one another. In the center of it all was a man, arms raised and crooked smile upon his lips, barking commands to his Servants as he directed each of them. For the moment Cara was unnoticed, but that could very quickly change.

OOCOk I leave the decision up to you. Do you try to walk up to him? Do you turn and run? Lol you have a lot of choices. If Cara simply tries to run into the fray she will get caught up in the fighting, but that wouldn't be all bad would it :P. If you need more to go on I will be happy to provide. Good luck!

The Vantha's ears prickled as she listened to the sound of wheels turning; the strange gollum receding, being swallowed by the shadows that clung to the sloped ceilings, the scarcely illuminated corridors which seemed to stretch on for miles and miles. Her violet eyes sparkled delicately as she forced herself not to watch it go, but stare only ahead, at the door that rested in her path. Wood shavings seemed to furl away from the raven colored wood, or what she supposed was as dark. Other chips had fallen by her feet, causing Iaera to sniff at them lazily and then growl her disapproval. She could feel the fox's fur bristling against her skin, as her eyes followed the golden ring in the door's center. Its paint chipping, revealing what seemed a bronze undercoat. Perched at its top, Cara thought she could make out an eye, through whose iris the wrung had been pierced, but she couldn't be certain with how the light and shadows shifted. Shrugging, the woman extended her hand and pulled back the knocker, causing the door to swing open slowly, creaking merrily as it moved and she helped to ease it back with what had been left free.

As soon as the door had parted enough for Cara to get a good look at way lay beyond, she pulled her hands back. She could hear Iaera growling still as fire roared beyond, and wind whistled. Flame licking the walls as stones grated against each other. She could feel one of her companions circling her legs. Trembling against her flesh as their head peered around her limbs. "Don't be afraid, it's only a game," the Vantha whispered as she lingered in the doorway, her eyes trained on the back of the conductor. The one whose clothes seemed to hang loosely from his flesh, the folds billowing around him as he held his arms up and waved them about. Ordering various persons to complete one task or another. As she stood, listening to the man say things that seemed generally outlandish, the Vantha's right hand rose; soon enough, it had fallen onto the door frame, serving to support her as her dark eyes took everything in. As she crossed the threshold, and ventured one step closer into the lab's depths. As she began her descent into madness.

OOCSorry this isn't much. I am rather out of practice with this pc.

The door closed, yet the chaos did not change. Still the people fought, commanding the elements to their bidding, yet if Cara looked close she would notice something interesting. All of the people, all of the casters, every single one of them appeared to be alive. Their movements did not show signs of nuit sluggishness, and many seemed a bit more lively than the few pulsers she had seen in the cells in the dungeons.

The change in number of bodies in the Lab, however, did grab one person's attention. The man at the center of the chaos, his eyes turned and caught sight of the new comer, and a grin cracked upon his withered face. From every pore there came a billowing black res which surrounded him, and instantly the fighting stopped, all taking several steps back to clear a path between the nuit and Cara. The man's figure could only just be seen within the billowing res, and a maniacal cackle echoed in the suddenly silent space.

Suddenly the res moved, concentrating into two points on either side of the nuit, who could only be Roknus, master of the Lab. The blobs formed, shaped and molded until the resembled what appeared to be wolves... and suddenly they were lit with blue flame. Roknus barked an order and the beasts of fire sprinted forward, right toward Cara and her companions. Black scorch marks were left in their wake, and the heat grew and grew as the approached. If something were not done Cara and those near her would be incinerated.

With the birth of the mage's fiery wolves came the rise of Cara's hands. She held them out towards him, level with her shoulders. Fingers held tightly together as palms pressed against the warm air that lingered between them. As she stood for mere seconds, her body tingled as her magic awakened to counter that which the nuit wielded. Her djed pooling beneath the tips of her fingers before it seeped through her skin in the form of gaseous res. It swirled angrily about her hands, a clear mist, which to her, carried the scent of ice, if such could be said to have a scent. Swiftly, she forced it to fan, forming a wall of res around her and her animal companions, before filling it entirely with water, causing the wolves to fizzle out as they sputtered against the stronger of the two elements. The last of the droplets falling in a strong rain as a thick grey veil rose from the field between herself and her opponent. As it lingered, and then began to thin, the Vantha gathered more of her res to continue the fight, for as far as she was concerned, no man or otherwise would get away with frightening her companions.

And as the veil was lifted, she sent her res flying forward, towards the nuit. As it moved, it dove through the air, sliding beneath him and into the earth, at which point, the Vantha filled it with the element, before raising her hands and sending it up beneath him with a deafening crack. She could hear the earth splitting as she clapped her hands together, intending for her magic to swallow the man. Send him to his long awaited grave.

OOCI am so very, very out of practice with this pc. Replies shall be slow.

The flaming wolves slammed into the wall of water, jets of steam cascading up and out as the creations fizzled out, but within them their internal core of res remained intact, sinking down into the earth.

The nuit's eyes stared at Cara, filled with an ancient wisdom, and madness, that flickered through his gaze like a candle caught in a sudden gust of wind. Shifting his feet he clapped his hands together just as the wolves fell against the ice wall, a large cloud of black res emitting from him in every direction. Twisting his hands in quick gestures the res was divided, half diving into the earth at his feet and the other circling overhead. A smile sprang upon his lips as he saw the girl send her power before him, shooting it into the earth and bending the element. He barked a wild, insane laugh as he slammed the palm of his right hand on the ground, cracking the earth as he added more of his res to the mix. The black res filled the cracks created by the talented reimancer, transforming it into stone to brace the widening gap. With a wink Roknus would scrape his fingers across the ground in a dramatic fashion, whirling his res beneath the earth so that it shot toward Cara, cracking stone as a widening gap streaked toward her and her companions. A large chasm began to form, the gap widening more and more as it got closer.

Standing quickly the nuit would wave his hands like a man conducting an orchestra, and the gaseous res above him swirled and streaked toward Cara as well, following pace with the forming ravine. WIth a snap of his fingers several of the larger clumps of res resolved themselves into boulders, and with a sarcastic wink from Roknus the res surrounding each flying stone burst into flame. This was all just a game to this man. Playing with peoples lives, life and death struggles, and in his eyes Cara was nothing more than a pawn that could be replaced.

OOCThe cracking earth and flying boulders basically happened at the same time, with maybe a tick in between when Roknus had to stand up. Lets see how creative Cara can get with her reimancy ;)

Servant of Reimancy (Cara)

Res left the surface of Cara's skin at a rapid rate. Far faster than it ever had before; she supposed, from the adrenaline coursing through her veins. For a moment, it simply blanketed her; a misty veil that trickled all around her northern skin. But soon enough, they had formed two separate walls around her and her companions. A sort of dome protecting them from all angles. The first she filled with water. The second, she lifted the occasional grain of earth into as the chasm widened and the earthen fireballs inched closer and closer. When they finally hit the first shield, which rested about a foot or two above its counterpart, the fire sputtered out as they had before. And as they inched closer and closer to the second, the earthen materials split into several smaller pieces. The beads that rested within the res working like a magnet to attract and pull everything apart. When everything had been destroyed, the Vantha pushed her hands together, bringing all the elements into one large mass. Misshapen masses covered in ice. Clods of rock filled with the occasional speck of dirt.

The ice was jagged. Glimmering blue daggers which rested atop the spherical forms. Yet, when the Vantha pushed her hands downwards, they flattened, forming discs with uneven edges. With ruby irises glimmering maniacally, the sorceress whirled her hands around, sending the saucer flying across the chasm to decapitate her foe. While it was flying, and beads of sweat began to form upon her brow, the Vantha allowed more res to trickle into the air. Slowly, almost unnoticeably. Two slender snakes which coiled around her before she sent them forward with a subtle flick of her fingers. When they had reached her foe, she filled each with fire and water, creating a mist to veil his vision whilst she allowed more djed to pool by her feet. Res she kicked towards the man, and when the flattened orb rested beneath him, filled with fire and earth to create lava. To melt whatever remained down, and to dissolve the mist. Send the lava to sputtering.

But by then, she hoped, it would be too late.

OOCEhh, she doesn't believe in wasting energy...
