Center of scholarly knowledge and shipwrighting, Zeltiva is a port city unlike any other in Mizahar. [Lore]

Finally someone immune to the effects of the blight(Theia)

Adnaj was finally beginning to build up some resolve. This was becoming unnecessarily taxing for Theia. When a patient was awaiting the results of a blood test or when a sick person wanted to hear their diagnosis, a doctor didn't address them with cryptic hints. He or she surely wouldn't delay the news or try to lead the patient to answer their query themselves. Similarly, it wasn't fair for Adnaj to string Theia along because he didn't want the burden of having to frighten her. It was a good lesson in some of the more social aspects of his profession. Bad news was part of his job and dancing around it only made the problem worse.

"Theia, you and I are more different than you know. It is not just because we both live in Zeltiva or that we are both immune to the Blight. I need you to stay calm when I tell you that I am a Nuit. In defiance of my undead nature, I am obsessed with caring for the sick, alright? Outside of grieved, innocent medical mistakes, I have never harmed anyone and I never care to do so. My only goal is the academic pursuits of physiology and pathology.

He stopped for a quick breath but hurried back into his sentence. He didn't give her the luxury of time that he gave most people when revealing his true nature. He didn't want to allow her the opportunity to interrupt him. His motivations were not from ego but were actually, for her sake. He didn't want to allow the focus to find its way to him. This was about leading her to the truth about herself.

"This is where our most significant similarity arises. Despite his best efforts, Adnaj paused awkwardly here. Encyclopedic knowledge of pathology? Check. Broad, capable ability in differential diagnosis? Got it. Intimate familiarity with the human form and anatomical systems? Definitely. Social grace and bedside manner? ...Well...some aspect of patient care had to give for all of that textbook knowledge...

You are in a group, with myself. A group that most people would classify as "undeath." Though you are safe and fully functional, in mind and soul, your physical body has expired. Something is holding your spirit to Mizahar and keeping you from entering the cycle of reincarnation.

He had spit it out with all the grace and courage of a child admitting a bad deed to a waiting parent. It cost him quite a great deal of effort to bring himself to state it that way and now that it was out there, he wasn't totally sure of what to do next.
