Some Ghostly Questions

I did a search on "Ghost" so if I ask anything already answered, I couldn't find an answer (or at least a solid answer). Thanks!

1. Do they need to be currently manifesting to be seen? I couldn't tell if they could always be seen but transparent and manifesting allowed them to appear more solid and use "senses", or if manifesting was to make themselves visible when they were normally not visible at all.

2. I also read of someone asking if the ghost appeared in their living colors or if they were more monochromatic and grey scale. Any consensus?

3. Also, (and I guess this is based on ghosts being visible without manifesting), but what exactly does manifesting allow a ghost to do since they have no mass? I just couldn't grasp the page for it well, I guess.

Ghosts are translucent and not fully opaque. Their edges are somewhat blurred and it is possible to see their material, Soulmist, swirling around them like thin white smoke. The more agitated the ghost, the more chaotic the Soulmist will look. Ghosts can float, though some choose to look like they are walking instead.
