Laying Low

Richard looked over the Crypt's tattoos, they were masterfully done, even if Richard didnt know much about their culture, he enjoyed learning about other cultures, though, he had not heard much about the Drykas, or these striders, he was going have to remember to ask about them sometime.

He had heard the word 'kelvic' before, his friend Nix was one, he hadnt thought they would be so common, but he had come across several in his life, in this very city. He probably wouldnt come across her again, the city was massive, and people who didnt want to be found, werent. The Lupa seemed friendly, but she was playing with the squire, teasing him along, it wasnt a crime, but he didnt really appreciate it.

And this second woman, Adi, she has been hostile the entire day, putting Richard on guard. Her sarcasm was vicious, and unneeded, the knight in training was only concearned about the woman's well being, as was his job. "The Rearing Stallion has a good winter stew." he suggested, trying to ignore the woman's hatred for the knights. "And please, pardon my concearn for your well being." he said, without sarcasm, he wasnt good at this talking thing anyway.

"Quite fitting," Crypt agreed, "Though where the Voleur part comes in... I'm afraid I don't know."

Adilliana, Crypt observed with a hint of amusement, was starting to be annoyed by their conversation - she appeared to have not understood, nor appreciated, most of his analysis, and the sarcasm in her words directed towards Richard was quite telling. Perhaps it was her hunger that caused such an emotion, but it was equally possible that she was tired of the conversation.

"Let us talk about more fulfilling matters then, since Adilliana appears to be anxious to have a good meal. The food at the Rearing Stallion is excellent, not just the winter stew. Would you mind leading us there, Richard?"

A tinge of sadness crept over Lupa's expression when Crypt mentioned her last name, 'Voleur'. She had never really shown that much interest in Leon's history and was really just grateful that he was willing to give her his last name and make her his daughter. Though she wasn't really his daughter, was she? She was almost a replacement for the two women in his life that he had loved, cherished and lost. His wife and his daughter. His real daughter. The thought of that was something that kept her mind rumbling and stirring, making her uncomfortable and on edge. She was a con-artist though. She made a living on acting and that was what she was going to do now.
She put on a bright smile and the sadness would be something that seemed to come by and disappear suddenly, like a breeze. Like it was something one could have imagined.

"It's strange, I know. I must look into it one of these days. I wish I could have had more interest in my family history." She added a little pout and rolled her eyes up to the sky, wondering exactly what her real parents might have been like. Well, other than irresponisble and having no evidence of hearts.

She grinned at Adilliana's sarcasm that dripped from her words to Richard. Oh how she loved sarcasm, irony and other tools that annoyed the norms. Sarcasm is the last refuge of modest and chaste-souled people when others push them too far. She also loved the fact that Adi had taken a disliking to the Knight. Oh, fun! She had some subconcious influence! She chuckled and then blinked, trying to get her mind back to the people in front of her. The Rearing Stallion? Oh! She licked her lips and ran her tongue over her teeth, a reaction to fond and delicious memories. Leon had taken her there once and she could certainly vouch for their gorgeous food. She grinned happily and almost dreamily too, half her mind stuck in a wonderful memory filled with fine, incredibly vivid smells. She of course had her nose to thank for that.

"Well, I'm starving! Getting some grub sounds like a capital idea! Well Sir Rich, you heard the man! Lead the way!" She twirled round and giddiness began to take over her. This was normal whenever she was hungry and there was the promise of fine food.

Postby Azcadelia on February 23rd, 2013, 8:23 am

Azcadelia traveled through the bazaar, her emerald robes fluttered in the breeze. The breeze was mostly an aura, forged by her magical abilities. She got side-ways glances and glares as she weaved her way through the bustling crowd that over took the mid-day. Her thin figure allowed her to move in between bigger pedestrians with ease, a serpent in the grass.

She had come to a small clearing and was pretending to look at wares while she eavesdropped on a particularly interesting conversation between two women and two men, one of them a knight in training. Interesting, more toys, she thought.

After biding her time for so long she had heard the overactive and over-friendly woman mention something about The Rearing Stallion and it's city wide known winter stew. They were going to get some food and food is what Azcadelia needed. She had spent the last of her coin and had yet to get a job to earn some, honest coin.

Her crime ring was small and was barely noticed if one of her minions had messed up and somehow placed her on the radar. She'd quickly make up a lie and say she had nothing to do with the events and watched and laughed as another one of her minions was dragged to be tried. Crime was easy money, and she was good at it. She stuck to it as a means of quick money; she never dabbled long enough to actually be caught herself. She knew her limits. Too bad it had dispersed because of her inability to manage it.

Back to the event at hand; she slithered her way to a corner peering with jade eyes at the group of four. The knight in training seemed nice enough to offer a 'poor traveler' some bread and a few coins. She felt it time to manipulate his weaknesses with her seductress charm. She muffled a laugh behind her lips and waited for the four to make a move.

Postby Adilliana on February 24th, 2013, 3:58 am

Adilliana fidgeted anxiously, the presence of some many stranger starting to wear on her nerves. She froze as Richard addressed her only moving to nod coldly at his recommendation of the Rearing Stallion Inn. Though there was no way she would admit it the information was useful as without it she would have had no heading.

Off in their own little world Crypt and Lupa intellectual posturing had continued. The flow of conversation had turned to the origin of Lupas’ family name. Such thing meant little to Adilliana as all Svefra were family. Outsider really were very confusing, being made of numerous sub groups. Maybe if she weren’t so hungry she would have found this interesting, but it was hard to concentrate with her stomach growling so loudly.

Her focus suddenly shifted though as Crypt invited himself along to the meal. She had been about to object but Lupa was faster. Before she could even blink she had turned to Richard asking him to lead the way. Adilliana grumbled, but her experiences had taught her to grin and bear such circumstances. She force a smile into place and stepped in behind Lupa.

“Sounds good, a nice warm meal like stew is just what I had in mind.” Just not with so many people at the table she thought.Behind her unseen a figure began to stalk them
