One night in the drunken fish

Postby Agathon Minorium on February 13th, 2013, 2:50 pm

Season of winter, day 20, 512 AV

The bed made a squeaking sound as he sat on it. He laid back put his head against the wall. He knew that it was about time for the sun to set. After sitting for a couple of minutes he stood up and walked to the other side of the room. He picked up his cloak from the chair, put it on and made his way to the door.

A very bright orange light hit his eyes as soon as he exited the building. The sun was still up, fighting with the moon in order to shine for a little more time. How he hated the sun.. People could see him walking around the city during the day and then he couldn't do the only thing he knows how to.. Steal. He walked around slowly, trying to avoid people's eyes. It was seldom that he met another person on the routes he chose to take, but when he did, he still tried to avoid been seen. It was like a game that he started playing years ago and he kept getting better and better.

The moon took over completely as he exited a small alley and ended up in the seaside market. There were still a few people walking around, but not enough to attempt to pickpocket someone and then disappear in the crowd, so he decided that tonight he would try something else. He would try to pickpocket someone inside the drunken fish.

It was a 3 minute walk from where he was previously. He stood outside for a couple of seconds, took a deep breath and opened the half rotten wooden door. What a glorious sight of anarchy. The sound of music and screams mixed together. The smell of alcohol in his nostrils, too strong to pick up the scent of anything else and of course, a pretty large number of people fighting for no apparent reason. Yes...Sunberth. He was more than bored of it.

He saw a free table and hastily moved towards it. He sat down and looked around for any possibly victims. His search was stopped a couple of minutes later by the waiter. What do you want to order? he asked in a manner that would seem rather rude to most people, but not to Agathon. I want..a mug of ale...and two loafs of bread. he said slowly. The waiter gave him a weird look and went to bring him what he asked for.

He was back about two minutes later, holding the mug of ale in one hand and a dish with two loafs of bread on the other one. He carelessly put them on the table and walked away. Agathon cut a small piece of bread and starting chewing on it slowly. It was hard to decide who would be his victim for the day. He grabbed his mug of ale and the dish with the bread and started walking around the tavern.

One night in the drunken fish

Usually Ezra was never seen in places such as a pub, alcohol was just not his cup of tea. yes tea sounded so much better, that's how he ended up in the far corner of the drunken fish sipping at a cup of freshly brewed tea. He watched as a blond boy walked through the door going unnoticed except by the waiter and Ezra himself. There was something odd about the boy but Ezra passed it off as him just being over-guarded. He sipped again at his tea and twirled his stirring spoon swiftly using just his fingers.
His deep black hair fell gently across his face hiding his silvery eyes in its depths as he listened to the music and brawling going on about him. Why did he come here anyway? he thought to himself, He had better things to do than sip tea in a pub surrounded by drunkards. Ezra nodded and finished off his tea before standing up, his slim frame swallowed by the black cloak that was settled across his shoulders and fell down his back. Slowly he made his way around the drunks and headed for the door.

One night in the drunken fish

Postby Agathon Minorium on February 15th, 2013, 12:15 pm

Agathon was walking around for a couple of minutes, before a pale young man drew his attention when he stood up and started walking towards the exit. He decided to follow the young man, as he was getting strange vibes from him. There was something off about him, he didn't look quite human. He had seen a lot of weird things in Sunberth, though, so he kept his distance and followed him through the tavern carefully, making sure that he wouldn't realize it.

And just a few meters before he made it to the door, a drunkard falls on him and both fall down to the ground! Apparently, the person got punched by someone in the face and fell on the guy who has just walking towards the door. Agathon drunk his Ale quickly and left the dish with the bread and the mug on a nearby table. He went down on his knees and helped the drunkard get up. ''Are you...Okay?'' He asked, slow as always.''I'm fine son'' said the drunkard, Now I'll show them what a real beating is! and as he walked away, Agathon put his hand in the drunkard's pocket quickly and grabbed everything he could. The guy was drunk and was just punched in the face. It was a miracle that he was still standing and Agathon's hands were very light when it came to pickpocketing. He turned around and looked at the pale fella next. He helped him get up. ''Would you like..me to buy you...Something to drink...It's his treat.'' he said and smiled at him.

One night in the drunken fish

Ezra was Mortified. Some drunkard had just fallen on him knocking him to the ground. His arm hurt from it hitting a nearby chair and the man on top of him wasn't helping his state of breathing.
The weight of the drunk was suddenly lifted by the boy that Ezra had seen walking through the door just a few minutes ago. He was maybe an inch or two taller than himself with blond hair and brown eyes. "Would you like..me to buy you...something to drink...It's his treat" the boy asked him suddenly. Ezra smirked slightly a small fang prodding out over his lip. The boy had pick-pocketed the drunk. Good, if he cant stay civil then he deserved it, Knocking me over, that bastard. Ezra looked at the boy contemplating if it was safe or if he was another target for his skills. Most of his instincts were screaming not to agree but a far more powerful urge drew him to comply, his stomach.
"Bastard owes me for almost killing me, so I might as well partake in the offer" Ezra replied in a slightly rough tone. It had been a while since he had last talked.

The boy replied quickly. He accepted Agathon's offer without much thought, not what one would expect from a person living in Sunberth and especially after learning that the person who asked him was actually a thief. Agathon did not care about such stuff whatsoever. He was also an honest and trustworthy person, regardless of the fact that he was a thief. He wasn't planning to take advantage of the pale looking individual.
''What's your name...Fella?'' asked Agathon in his usual slow, but sweet nevertheless voice.
Of course they couldn't stay there. The drunkard could search his pocket at any given moment and realize that his stuff was missing. That would be a real problem if more of his friends were in the tavern, he himself would not be a problem after all the alcohol he had.
''We shouldn't stay here...How does the Pig's foot tavern..Sound?''
It was the most calm and highest quality tavern you could find and the lad didn't look like he had a blustering personality. He looked like a person who enjoyed silence and tranquility and that was the only reason why he had invited him to come with him in the first place. He would have never done the same if it was some kind of brute, the kind of people that you usually find in Sunberth; The kind of people that Agathon hated the most.

Of course Agathon kept his guard up as well. You can never be sure if the person is what he looks like in Sunberth. Everyone and everything is potential danger in this city. So, even though he acted nicely and a bit foolishly, he did keep an eye on the pale looking stranger.

The idea of leaving this god forsaking place was like music to Ezra's ears, and he agreed to it. "my name is Ezra, and I will gladly leave this place, My horse is just around the corner of the pub" Ezra spoke his voice getting used to being used again.
Ezra wasn't to concerned about the boy pick-pocketing him, he figured if he wanted to target him he wouldn't of asked him to go somewhere, especially if he knew, that I knew of his occupation. Pulling his black cloak around him more tightly he carefully left the pub in search of his horse that he had tied to a lamp post. He figured the boy would follow him so he didn't think it came off rude just leaving.
Ezra walked through a darkened ally to the lamppost he had tied the horse to. The horse bowed his head before lifting it back up to look him in his silvery eyes. Ezra smiled softly at the pure black horse before untying the reins. Wrath blew a strong gust of air through his nose and stomped his hove in the dirt indicating he was a bit peeved that Ezra had left him out in the cold for so long. "I know boy, but I'm here now" he cooed the horse allowing him to calm down. He turned to look at the boy who, as he guessed, followed him to the horse. "Lead the way."

One night in the drunken fish

[quote="Agathon Minorium"]
As Agathon was walking through the door, following the boy named Ezra, he realized the stupidity of his actions up until now and how it could affect him in the future. Agathon was a shadow. He couldn't make any friends, or even risk to do so. He wasn't supposed to have any connections with anyone, all he wanted to do was to raise money so that he could leave this city. So why did he invite this person out? Was it the Ale he drunk so quickly? Maybe he lost his senses for a second and acted without thinking smart. Whatever it was, he had to leave.

He hadn't shared his name yet, the other person had only seen his face. So did the Drunkard as well, although he probably wouldn't remember him in the morning. But Ezra would. Thankfully, he supposed that Agathon would just follow him and that gave Agathon the perfect chance to leave. As soon as he went out and went to get his horse, Agathon disappeared back in the alley that he came from.

While he was walking he was thinking whether it was right to leave the boy like that, after telling him that he would buy him a drink. Only one thing came to his mind. He was a thief, whether he liked it or not. He had to start acting like a thief if he wanted to survive in this city. He had to change. And with thoughts like that troubling his mind, he faded away in the dark alleys of Sunberth.

Ezra didn't know how to think when he turned around and the boy was gone. was it his personality or was it the way he looked? He knew he didn't look at all like a human with his pale skin and silvery eyes, but was he really that bad?
Ezra sighed and tried to think positivly, maybe he had forgotten he had somethintog do and didnth veatime to warn him. Yeah, he was sure thatswhat happened. Maybe he will meet the boy again one day, somewhere, one day he will meet the boy again Ezra decided with a nod. The boys face ran through his mind onceaa ngi beforeh adineog ff into het darkness of the night.

Meeting Because of a Drunkard

Agathon :
Experience:
Escape Artist 1
Observation 1
Socialization 1

Lore:
The Sun: A Thief's Worst Enemy
Ezra: A Strangely Pale Human

Ledger:

-1 sm and 4 cm (2 loves of bread and a pint of ale)

Spoils:

From the drunkard's pocket Agathon gains a small leather pouch with 7 silver mizas and a necklace made from copper links. It has a pendant that is made from a black stone.

Ezra :
Hey Ezra, when you update your ledger and deduct your seasonal living expenses for Winter, PM me and I'll release your grade!

Additional Notes :
So, very brief, I am unsure of why this thread did not go on longer, but things happen, I suppose. Agathon, I did not give you a point in larceny because you did not describe your theft in the slightest. Stealing form a dazed inebriated man would be a piece of cake for your character because of his competent status as a thief, but in order to get XP for your actions I need some more description: Was his money in his jacket pocket, back pocket, a wallet? How deep was it down and how did Agathon use his guile and cunning to get it out with others in the bar that are perhaps more sober to keep from noticing him? I awarded the point in Escape Artist for the way he ditched Ezra, which I thought was pretty hilarious, I mean what a jerk! Anyway, good luck with your thief, and Ezra I'll release your grade when you've updated your ledger!

Questions, Concerns? PM me and we'll get to the bottom of it. Safe Travels!

One night in the drunken fish

Postby Michaela Abendroth on March 14th, 2013, 3:20 am

Michaela was flying through the dark night sky when she had sensed and noticed two boys walking into an alleyway towards a horse and then noticed once guy run away once the other guys back was turned. This was very suspicious behavior to her. Why would he just turn around and run once the other mans back was turned? Did he steal something from him? I then decided to follow the man who ran away from the other man. He was running away pretty fast.
I love to RP if anyone wants to create one and needs people or want to do a 1-on-1 just let me know :) I love to RP :) And I am up for any!
