66th Winter A.V.

In a rather tall building, standing about two stories tall. A small boy a least seven years in age sat alone on the upper floor--the child's room was poorly lit; clouds outside blocked the suns rays which left the room dull within a desolate color of gray. The laughter of children could be heard on the lower floors beneath him--other children were at play with each other while he stacked his blocks; his focus placed upon the various shapes and sizes that were in front of him, colors varying from red to blue, orange to yellow and gold danced in front of his eyes as he moved them carefully from place to place. He was perfectly content with his blocks, stacking them and building castles and block-men of sorts, he laughed slightly as one of the blocks he had rolled down the stairs of his castle and plopped perfectly onto another block resting on the floor.

The boy suddenly stopped what he was doing and started to scan the room, his eyes widened when he found what he was looking for! A small white block remained just out of arms reach, he struggled to reach the object, hoping that his little arms would somehow miraculously reach it until... it slid across the floor... into his hand. The boy, astounded by what he had done, jumped for joy in the belief that he had done magic, he ran down stairs to tell everyone what he had done, leaving the room silent and void of life.

The child wasn't truly alone in this room, silent chuckles could be heard before the child slams the door and ventures down into the lower depths of the building. A block rose off the ground, soulmist danced in the air like the invisible strings of a spiders web--controlled by the will of an unseen presence. The soulmist was carefully wrapped around this object, it was now the center of another beings attention as it floated harmlessly in the air. The focused on the object and exerted a small push sending it a small meter away from the block castle it was resting next to but further away than before.

The tendril of soulmist receded back to the spirit as it resumed to hide its presence. The door flies open and the young boy returns, trying to explain what had happened to his much older yet stubborn teacher--who did not believe that a student of hers could move an object without physically touching it... she knew he did not know magic. The teacher suspected something else was up and asked the boy could he perform the task again, he failed and the two left the room quietly.

The child, Sean was tired in his efforts to persuade his teacher into believing that he had moved the block and that he did in fact have some magical skill that allowed him to do so. But failed the argument as he could not force an object to move again: nor could he understand the ''big words'' his teacher was using against him in their argument. The boy, tired and frustrated remained motionless in bed and where he remained were also other beds all around him; he was but one of the many children resting in this school-like environment. The place was filled with resting souls with the exception of one defiant little boy, who refused to listen to his teacher and even now he resists the urge to sleep.

The air around him grew cold, to cold in fact that it left him shivering, he placed the cover over himself and sighed in relief and comfort. The cover was warm with his body heat and granted him freedom from the cold clutches of the freezing air. He looked towards his left side, an open window granted the calm Winter breeze access to the home he was residing in. Sean, moved his body closer to the left--he reached the end of the bed and almost falls off the side but it mattered not to him, he just wanted to see the clouds, clouds that he would be able to look upon for hours without intrusion, once he grows old enough to leave the confines of this home.

Sean's eyes squint and then widen as he witnesses a person or what he thinks is a person, materialize right in front of him! The spirit focused upon his corporeal form, molding the image of mental himself into reality--the formless body it held became more solid in definition. The soulmist cloaked this being in a color of shimmering white, it looked as if pure white snow had laid down upon and formed into a robe. The spirit now completely materialized, knowingly turned and faced Sean, Noaru grinned and disappeared from sight!

Sean gazed in amazement and leaped from his bed in attempts to pursue the mysterious figure. The boy however, quietly stepped passed his sleeping friends because they were all tadle-tails and would get him into more trouble with his teacher. Sean turns the door knob, it opens and a slow eerie !!CRRREEEAAAK!!, the door emits this noise until he opens it completely.

Sean walked from inside the room and into the hallway. The area was dimly lit, cob-webs littered the ceiling and corners of this place, it was clear that this building was extremely old as with each step that was made, wooden floorboards below would creak and growl. He hadn't been in this part of the building before and this was where that thing he saw went to. The young boy looked down the hallway and the darkness at the end acted as a deterrent that would prevent the boy from moving forward; you see, Sean wasn't particularly fond of darkness as a child not being able to see the things around you was frightening enough but to know something could be waiting inside the darkness was terrible.

“This way...”

A cold chill swept the halls as a voice beckoned Sean to follow it, he was reluctant at first but his instincts told him to follow. The first steps he took were heavy ones, as if concrete had enveloped his feet and was weighing him down. Sean's courage began to build when he stepped into the darkness alone and walked out of it, feeling assured and triumphant. He had overcame a small portion of his fear of the dark and now he was one step closer to escaping this place that had acted as the center of his fears.

“Now, keep going...”

Sean heard the voice again, it sounded much closer to him than it did before and he wondered why it was helping him escape. There was a light at the end of the hall, joy filled Sean's heart! He would be able to escape and find a better life outside these solitary walls.

Sean found himself unable to move once he had reached the end of the hall. There was a door just a few meters in front of him and all he had to was stick out his hand and grab onto the door but there was something stopping him. A fear he has held deep inside of him for so long--had finally resurfaced and once he had realized this... he could hear footsteps approaching from behind. Sean couldn't see who was slowly creeping behind him but he knew who it was--that old female teacher from before was coming, coming to take him back into the dark classroom--where nobody played with him and left him alone.

Sean began to cry as fears suffocating grip became ever so tighter as the footsteps crept closer and closer towards him but something called to him: an idea that he almost had forgotten. The young boy thought quickly and called out to the mysterious white entity he had been seeing around his school!

“ I'am here... I can help you, if you give me permission to enter.”

Noaru knew what was going on but needed the boys permission to enter, he couldn't do anything, if the child was under so much distress that he couldn't enter the body. Sean began to panic, he didn't know what the ghost meant but he accepted anyway, allowing the mysterious entity to enter his body and take control in order for him to escape. Noaru enters the child's body, his soulmist literally overtakes Sean's body and coats him in a temporary veil of black. The spirit quickly begins to grow accustom to the body much faster than he did with other bodies--this was probably due to the fact that the body he was currently possessing was small than the older and much taller bodies he used to possessing.

When he turned to face the footsteps Sean spoke of.... he heard nor saw anything. Sean literally freaking out inside and was trying to hide as deep as he could inside his own body!

“ There is no one here, you have been inside this building alone this entire time.”

Noaru stretched out the boys hand and opened the door--light streamed inside and illuminated the darkness around them. Sean was so certain that everything wasn't an illusion--the school, his teacher and his classmates they were all there! Noaru had to show Sean, show him that the illusion he had been living in wasn't the reality he sought after and was the reason why he subconsciously sought after the outside world...this was not where he suppose to be.

Sean couldn't realize this but the rays of the sun--he had longed for so long, helped him forget about the painful truth and the painful past without friends or family. He couldn't thank the ghost in the way he should but a single tear stream down his cheek, he didn't feel alone anymore and didn't feel the need to imagine things anymore. Noaru felt this change within the boys spirit and left his body; though, unsure on how the boy would survive in Ravok, leaving a child behind felt was wrong but what he felt after leaving the boys body wasn't weakness, only strength...Sean would be fine.

Noaru then vanished and traveled to go someplace unknown...

You Question My Logic? :
Well, I didn't award you any soulmist projection because when you mentioned it, there wasn't really any description. And it was something that is fairly easy considering Noaru's skill level, so it didn't really warrant a point. If you have any questions, feel free to PM me.

Lores: Toying with Boy's Toys, The difference between body size in Possession,

Notes: Just a note. There are no schools, or orphanages, or whatever this place was in Ravok. Education is done by private tutors, or by the parents themselves. The only school is the Institute of Higher Learning, which is mostly for adults. There is no orphanage in Ravok. Orphaned children are usually either enslaved, or recruited into the Ebonstryfe, unless some random citizen decides to take them in as their own before either of those things happen.

........and of course I typed all that before reading the last post. So.. just consider the above bit food for thought, lol. Anyway, very interesting thread. Good work, and keep writing!
