Battle of the Wilds

Postby Sevris on July 13th, 2013, 6:16 am

One on one just the way Sevris wanted it. However he grew too cocky with the fodder of Yukmen he had dispatched before. This one was a bit different if not a bit stronger. For when it swung the blade towards his neck and Sevris instinctively thew up his blade to parry it. That parry would cost him as the blow was a lot stronger than he initially thought.

The blade impacted against his and he just lost a little bit of his grip on it. The shortsword glanced off the double-blade. The ivory sword was rocked by the force, and it made Sevris slightly off balance. The Yukman swung again at the Soldier. He was barely quick enough to brace for the second blow. Just the same amount of strength rocked against Sevris's blade.

This sent his double-bladed sword reeling backwards over his head. Time seemed to slow as he looked at the Yukmen leader's next move. Ignoring the raging screeching of, "Yuk yuk!"

Only his training prepared him for what happen next. The Yukman unrelenting with his disabling of the Solider, struck forward yet again. Stepped forward and held his hand up to block the wrist of his swinging opponent. Strong still was the swing so the blade whipped at an angle and banged against his armor. He sent an left underhand uppercut to the abdomen of the Yukman and a left hook to his face.

Both hits connected and the Yukman was sent stumbling sideways when Sevris struck it. He jumped back and unsheathed his longsword. The earth spawn creature was not entirely fazed by the attack by Sevris and continued its attack.

Sevris swung downards on the Yukman's rising blade. They collided with sparks and bounced off of each other. Sevris was starting to tire, but he knew that this thing would strike him down without a seconds notice. They did not know mercy for their enemy. Just as the Ebonstryfe did not know of the meaning of mercy.

Which seemed to awaken a seemingly burning desire to inspire destruction upon his opponent. It gave him renewed vigor in his bones. But it seemed as if the Yukman had been watching the commander's fighting. For he pulled off a most veteran move.

It stepped forward and pulled its sword arm back and did a small jump which allow him to propell his sword forward much quicker. But Sevris knew the move well and noticed the forward step motion. He leaned backwards and dodged it to the side.

The bad thing about the attack was that it left you open for attack for a longer time than you'd like it as it also threw you off balance as well. Sevris saw his chance to attack. He regained his footing after the fleeting dodge, and swung his blade down the middle of the Yukman. The blade slipped through its stomach and out its back.

Sevris gave a resounding battle cry as he drove the blade upwards, it ran cut past the tissue and continued its way out until it came out of its head. The Yukmen leader was killed instantly, as it fell to the ground dead.

The Soldier bellowed his victory as he looked over the battle below him. It seemed as if they were too were fairing better against them. The giant Dhani warrior was handling himself among the combined efforts of the Ebonstryfe. They would win the battle yet.

But in the horizon he could see further into the forest. Where the rest of the forces were. Faintly he saw outline of the forces moving slowly towards their location. If they did get their plea why were they moving so slowly. What are they doing? He exclaimed in his head. Who knew if there weren't any more suprise gestations of Yukmen left.

Something had to be done. He picked up his double-bladed sword and rushed down to help finish up the last of the Yukmen that plagued them.

Battle of the Wilds

Postby Kyodaija on July 14th, 2013, 11:22 pm

Kyo batted aside another of the numerous but weak Yukmen with his mighty club. He had begun to reach the limits of his endurance but held firm at the sides of 2 of the few remaining soldiers. He had begun to become familiar with their aid whacking foes from afar using his reaching strikes, whilst the ones that drew in closer were dispatched by the short swords of the men nearest to him. With this synergy the battle had started to draw to a close.

He saw then the veteran warrior whom had danced his way to what appeared to be the most senior Yukmen. The battle that ensued was deadly and seemed to have caught the veteran off guard. But the soldier managed to deftly defeat the Yuk as it gave a large blundering strike that ensured it's demise. He raised his club and let out a screeching cheer, at the warriors victory. bringing his wolf's teeth club down onto the head of another Yukmen that drew too near to his little 3 man group.

The warrior charged down into the fray whilst glancing off to the side, a concerned and confused expression worn on his face. This drew Kyo's gaze to the edge of the forest where he could see the signs of the much needed reinforcements these men had long been waiting for. Though their approach seemed a very relaxed pace for an army intended to reinforce...

Another Yukmen drove past his swinging club and dove in at Kyo, luckily both the men at either side managed to lunge in and stab their blades deep into it's rocky flesh, then promptly assumed positions next to him again. They seemed to have entirely disregarded the strange help for the moment... simply fighting at this point to survive.

The Yukmen force had been nearly routed, but the reinforcements still stood outside of view in the forest line...

Kyo knew little of what this army was but he had a feeling something strange was going on...

His wounds would not allow him to aid in another fight very much...

Battle of the Wilds

OOCFeel free to answer me and I can formerly know you so that I can call upon you in the future.

The Yukmen were indeed routed as he jogged down the hill. At the cost of heavy losses of their vanguard. From his view there were only three of them left who were all armed. But the large warrior and the commanders were fending them off. He came up behind one of them attempting to murder one of the commanders.

His double-bladed sword flashed in the air as he took a running swing that cut cleanly at the Yukman's neck. Unawares of attack he killed the creature without pause. This effectively ended the Yukmen ambush on the vanguard as they killed the rest of them. The Commanders looked worn out from the heavy fighting they had endured.

One of them immediately was upset and said, "Where the hell was reinforcements?"

The other shared this same disgust. But Sevris greeted the young warrior before he got to the more troubling matters. "Warrior we thank you for your assistance. We might have been routed if not for your help. Who are you?"

He turned his attention to the approaching company. Paladin Ty Guss sat on horseback trotting towards them. The Commanders knew better than to angrily try and berate him and stood at ease as he approached. He got towards them and started clapping his hands. "My my, you guys handled yourselves with excellence!" He looked at all the bodies lying around, and then his eyes drifted towards Sevris.

The Lazarin noticed a hint of surprise just faintly. But it disappeared just as quickly as it had came. "The Lazarin prodigy lives to tell the tale!" He laughed and jibbed. Sevris did not share in this enthusiasm, as he was tired and battered from all the fighting. He knew something was amiss with Ty Guss. He could not address it himself as they were in front of the company.

But one of the Commanders did for him saying, "Sir Guss. We sent for help immediately. Did you not get our word in time?" The Apprentice that Sevris had sent was standing in the midst behind him. He stood at attention but did not look elsewhere.

"Aye we came as quickly as we could. But you seemed to have outdone yourselves though the losses are indeed a tragedy." The sadness he portrayed did not seem real enough.

"But the battle is ours, the gestation has been destroyed. Who killed the leader?"

Sevris stood up a bit more and answered, "I did Sir. With the help of this warrior we defeated them." He gestured at the Dhani beside him.

Ty Guss had disgusting smile on his face as he replied, "Well done Soldier. You'll be a fine leader someday with that type of fight in you. Thanks to you as well warrior for your uncanny timing. Time to report back to Ravok. Double-time."

The Commanders were not happy with his answer but they dare not question. They began to head back to Ravok. But Sevris was starting to put the pieces together. Ty Guss tried to kill him. And he sacrificed two units to do so. The question was...why?

Battle of the Wilds

Postby Kyodaija on July 20th, 2013, 12:52 am

Kyo struggled with the two soldiers at his sides against the last bit of enemies still causing real trouble. He finally realized that the ones that figured out how to use weapons were a sort of leader, and a cut above the rest of these thralls.

At an opportune moment the young warrior lept behind the 2 remaining sword wielding Yukmen. Cutting one down as you would a blade of grass. He was truly impressive for a man dressed no different than the rest of the soldiers. He didn't give off any real arrogance so typical in leaders. Just the strength of a warrior who understood standing with his brothers meant victory.

The men around him did little rejoicing as the remaining beasts were cut down. They had little good to say about the fight considering all but a handful of them lay dead having met their demise in this battle. The soldier closest to to Kyo heaved aloud "Where the hell was reinforcements?" struggling to catch his breath.

The warrior approached Kyo then greeting him warmly "Warrior we thank you for your assistance. We might have been routed if not for your help. Who are you?" Kyo heaved a moment and steadied his breath, "I am Kyodaija where isss y..." The conversation was abruptly cut off as the "reinforcements" finally arrived. A well dressed man wearing full plate trotted up upon his large steed. This seemed to be a dis pleasurable thing he noted from the warriors expression that was quickly replaced with a look of respect and obedience.

The warrior and his superior officer went back and forth for a time. The warrior even bothering to mention that Kyo had been of some aid in the fight, but this commander seemed not to care very much about any of it. Only keeping up the appearance of a superior officer and not so much as even truly glancing at the battered Kyo.

An order to return to Ravok was given then. Kyo decided it would be best for him to leave alone. He turned to the man named Sevris with a curt nod saying "I ssstay in the docksss and frequent the ssSilver ssSliver daily, call upon me if you ever need sssome ssskullsss cracked dissscreetly..." Kyo left it at that allowing his serpentine tongue to slip out with a quiet hiss as he slipped away into the forest to tend to his wounds...

Nice action here. Sevris, I think you might want to edit some in the future, there were some grammar mistakes in your first few posts that made it hard to read. Besides all of that, go ahead and edit your post in the request thread to reflect that this thread has been graded. Toodles
