One on one just the way Sevris wanted it. However he grew too cocky with the fodder of Yukmen he had dispatched before. This one was a bit different if not a bit stronger. For when it swung the blade towards his neck and Sevris instinctively thew up his blade to parry it. That parry would cost him as the blow was a lot stronger than he initially thought. The blade impacted against his and he just lost a little bit of his grip on it. The shortsword glanced off the double-blade. The ivory sword was rocked by the force, and it made Sevris slightly off balance. The Yukman swung again at the Soldier. He was barely quick enough to brace for the second blow. Just the same amount of strength rocked against Sevris's blade. This sent his double-bladed sword reeling backwards over his head. Time seemed to slow as he looked at the Yukmen leader's next move. Ignoring the raging screeching of, "Yuk yuk!" Only his training prepared him for what happen next. The Yukman unrelenting with his disabling of the Solider, struck forward yet again. Stepped forward and held his hand up to block the wrist of his swinging opponent. Strong still was the swing so the blade whipped at an angle and banged against his armor. He sent an left underhand uppercut to the abdomen of the Yukman and a left hook to his face. Both hits connected and the Yukman was sent stumbling sideways when Sevris struck it. He jumped back and unsheathed his longsword. The earth spawn creature was not entirely fazed by the attack by Sevris and continued its attack. Sevris swung downards on the Yukman's rising blade. They collided with sparks and bounced off of each other. Sevris was starting to tire, but he knew that this thing would strike him down without a seconds notice. They did not know mercy for their enemy. Just as the Ebonstryfe did not know of the meaning of mercy. Which seemed to awaken a seemingly burning desire to inspire destruction upon his opponent. It gave him renewed vigor in his bones. But it seemed as if the Yukman had been watching the commander's fighting. For he pulled off a most veteran move. It stepped forward and pulled its sword arm back and did a small jump which allow him to propell his sword forward much quicker. But Sevris knew the move well and noticed the forward step motion. He leaned backwards and dodged it to the side. The bad thing about the attack was that it left you open for attack for a longer time than you'd like it as it also threw you off balance as well. Sevris saw his chance to attack. He regained his footing after the fleeting dodge, and swung his blade down the middle of the Yukman. The blade slipped through its stomach and out its back. Sevris gave a resounding battle cry as he drove the blade upwards, it ran cut past the tissue and continued its way out until it came out of its head. The Yukmen leader was killed instantly, as it fell to the ground dead. The Soldier bellowed his victory as he looked over the battle below him. It seemed as if they were too were fairing better against them. The giant Dhani warrior was handling himself among the combined efforts of the Ebonstryfe. They would win the battle yet. But in the horizon he could see further into the forest. Where the rest of the forces were. Faintly he saw outline of the forces moving slowly towards their location. If they did get their plea why were they moving so slowly. What are they doing? He exclaimed in his head. Who knew if there weren't any more suprise gestations of Yukmen left. Something had to be done. He picked up his double-bladed sword and rushed down to help finish up the last of the Yukmen that plagued them. |
