[The Menagerie] Lets try something new

It was only three days after her aunt's funeral. Most people would probably be in mourning. But for some reason... Spirit wasn't. She missed her aunt, and was sad about the whole thing, but... she felt like she had to move on. That was over, and it was time to start something new. That 'something new' was exactly the reason she'd come to the Menagerie.

Her aunt had loved dogs, the reason why Spirit herself had Wind. The girl almost wanted to... follow in the woman's footsteps in a way. She wanted to do something with dogs, and live her life with them. At that, something had occurred to her. Maybe she could try and breed dogs... not the usual breed, but... her own. Mix them! She wasn't quite sure how well she could actually do this, but... she could try, right? She knew the basics of breeding animals, and though had never tried it herself... she'd watched others go around planning an encouraging animals to have... puppies, or kittens, or foals, or whatever animal was in question. It was an interesting process, and recently she'd gotten the urge to try it.

That was why she was here. Wind himself was much too old to breed, so she was out to buy a pair of dogs that would probably fit together well... create a 'superior' breed. There was one shop she knew that sold a variety of dog breeds, and she planned to look through there. She wandered into the shop, Wind in tow. She wasn't as shy as last time she'd walked into here, though she didn't know exactly why. She walked up to the store owner, and began her 'plan of action'. This was basically to interrogate her on the various breeds of dogs and what they could do, come up a good combination of two, and buy them. It would be a little bit improvised, but she could handle it... probably. There was a high likeliness to mess up majorly and end up with a terrible combination.

"Morning" She greeted the lady, who looked suspiciously around her age. "I was wondering which breeds of dogs you have at the moment..." She asked, a smile on her face. The woman responded with an equal expression, before listing her wares. "Lets see... I have a Zypherian sled dog, a few Silkena, Kalean Spicecoats, Manitora, a Luvanor Grassland Hunter, an Akinva Deerstalker, Falivan Elk Dogs, and Inganu Deepwoods Dogs." She listed with a grin, finding the request slightly humorous. It was a very long list... and slightly daunting. "Why? Anything you want in particular?" She inquired helpfully, as Spirit thought on the question.

The simplest would probably be to go with a hunter... but something sturdy to go with the weather? Something like a Silkena, from what she knew, might not do so well with all the snow... and she wanted an outdoors animal. "Hmm... anything good with the weather here, and good at hunting?" She asked curiously, hoping this would narrow down the list a bit. Maybe she'd even be left with two, but... it seemed slightly unlikely.

"Well... The Spicecoat is pretty hardy, and a hunter, sled dog, and tracker. The Inganu is good at tracking... but not hunting in particular. The Falivan elk dog is good at hunting, but weather wise... I'm not sure. It's not bred for Avanthal specifically. The Luvanor is also quite good... decently hardy, fast, and a good hunter. Overall... I'd say the Spicecoat or the Luvanor!" She explained happily, luckily coming up with two good options. This was much easier now...

"Great!" She replied happily, before considering her next move. She should probably look at those available, then pick the best two..."Can I see which of those two you have?" She asked, and was answered with a nod. Within a chime, the younger Frostfawn was faced with a Spicecoat puppy, a young male Spicecoat, a year-old Luvanor, and two female Luvanors. She looked at them all with a critical eye, though had mostly decided already. The older Spicecoat, and one of the to Luvanor females... "Which of these two would you say is the most..." She didn't know how to put it. "...friendly... and in the best condition?" she finished awkwardly, hoping the woman would catch her meaning. She'd been pointing at the two older Luvanor Grasslanders awkwardly.

The shop owner looked at the girl with a critical eye, before pointing to one with a smile. True, the dog did look a little larger, and fitter. Her tongue lolled out slightly and a small smile was evident on the hound's face. Spirit crouched down and patted the dogs head a few times, before saying "I'd like her please... and the older Spicecoat!" She turned to the latter mentioned, and found Wind and the other male sniffing each other curiously. Wind would be dominant, obviously, but at least it didn't look like a fight would break out. Sometimes that happened, but most animals she knew were better trained than that. She took a hold of the leather collars of both the dogs, happy that they wore such a convenience. Wind didn't have one of those... he never really needed too. But this would work well.

"Alright! The total for the two will be... 52 gold mizas please!" The woman said, as her customer fished out the money. After a quick exchange, Spirit left, attempting to brainstorm names for her two new canines. After some thought, she came up with 'Apple' for the Spicecoat, for his fur, which was a cinnamon red. For the female... 'Fog', since her coat was the color of such. A light grey mixed with some dark.
