In the arms of violence

Postby Garin Campbell on August 8th, 2013, 10:23 pm

Garin was about to say something when he heard the growl. He whirls around, and gets kicked, grazingly in the hip. After he takes a step back, he growls himself, a flash of anger in his eyes. Garin steps towards the man, then feigns high with his dagger, at his shoulder, then, if the man looks away to try and block, he follows up with the shiv with blinding speed, going to plunge it into his right wrist, then twist it and tear it free.

However, if the doctor doesn't try to stop the dagger, seeing through the feign, he suddenly shifts his weight and follows through with the slash.

((Forgive me. I know very little about combat in Mizahar.))

Garin grins with savage glee, whether the blows land or not.

In the arms of violence

Postby Rorick Set'ani on August 9th, 2013, 2:38 am

Rorick wasn't quite sure what was happening, instinct over coming his thought process for a brief moment. Perhaps that was what saved him. Shifting his weight, Rorick followed through with a slash to Garin, his opponent's blade drawing a red line across his forearm. A ragged grimace formed on Rorick's face, knowing that he escaped a grievous wound by mere inches. In a straight up fight, I won't survive. I need to improvise. Shifting his stance, Rorick kept his sword close and stood as solid as a rock. Deathly still, Rorick's eyes moved rapidly, scanning the slight shift's of balance and weight that rippled through Garin's muscles.

And then Garin struck, nimble as a cat, dagger a silver streak aimed towards his throat. Reacting quickly, Rorick rebuked the attack with the flat of his blade. Again Garin struck, and again Rorick deflected. They danced this deadly game of blades, seconds seeming like hours, Rorick never striking, only watching and waiting, seeing the shift Garin's muscles and reacting defensively. He was no warrior in this battle, he would have been dead if he fought like that. No, he was reacting with the precision of a surgeon, nimble hands guiding his movements. Rorick may have been a novice in terms of the blade, but he was a master when it came to human anatomy and muscle shifts.

A hot sliver of blood streamed down his face, one of the hits garin had manged to score. Arms tiring with the effort of his defensive strategy, his blade sagged slightly. With a heavy breath, Rorick tempted a rueful smile.

"Having fun yet?"

OOCIt's fine, as long as we each act in accordance to how each other's character's would act. I figured that since Rorick had known a straight up fight would be suicide, he would adapt and use his knowledge and practice of human anatomy to judge movements, acting only on the defensive.

In the arms of violence

Watching as the two danced with their blades, completely focused on each other, Gauge debated if he ought to just grab a drink and enjoy the show. But his blood screamed for a piece of the action. With his wrapped arm brought up as his defense, Gauge grabbed a wooden mug and kept his distance while quickly circling behind Garins opponent with as much stealth he could muster with this particular situation, rotating to the opposite of Garin. Gauge rushed carefully in his stead; if he got close enough to the man to render him, his long sword would count for absolutely nothing. He waited for the proper moment, swinging the mug as he closed in with a somewhat swift maneuver, praying that if the swordsman were to face in his direction, he would get a face full of ale.

Garin parries the blow deftly with his dagger.

Throught the dance, Garin seems to enjoy himself more and more, every blow he gets past widening his savage grin.

"Having fun yet?"

Garin doesn't answer. As soon as the doctor's sword sags, he lunges in, knocking aside the sword with the dagger, and going to drive the shiv into his upper thigh, then twist it and pull it free once again.

It is becoming evident that Garin doesn't plan to kill him. Yet.

In the arms of violence

Postby Rorick Set'ani on August 11th, 2013, 3:35 am

Exhaustion was beginning to settle it self in his strained muscles. Rorick's body had not been pushed this far in years, and it was showing in his fighting style. A missed parry, a shallow cut, it was all a matter of time. And the worst thing was, his opponent was toying with him. Garin's playfully cruel grin flashed across his face as the man lunged forward, his attack only barley rebuked. Then, a figure shifted position in the corner of Rorick's eye.

No! I can't fight both of them, I'm barley holding my own against one! His minute diversion cost Rorick another slash. He wouldn't be able to delay the inevitable forever, only hope that exhaustion and anger made his opponent sloppy enough for a killing blow. And with two experienced men to battle against, the scale was tipping away.

It all happened in an instant, a simultaneous crash of screaming pain. The tattooed man rushed from behind, catching his jaw as Rorick turned, followed by an unsettling crunch. Disoriented and in excruciating pain, Rorick was unable to react to Garin's follow up strike, the knife hot in his thigh.

The first thing to fall was his sword, clattering to the ground. Next came Rorick.

In the arms of violence

Postby Amora Jade on August 12th, 2013, 8:38 pm

It was a quiet day in the tavern, something she rather enjoyed in contrast to what she usually looked for. On a normal occasion Amora would be here to find an easy pocket to plunder or to get a bit tipsy for the pure enjoyment of it. Today was different, she just wanted to relax as most people in the establishment seemed to. A small cup of wine and a meal rested on the wooden table in front of her as she enjoyed both slowly.

Mild chit chat began to grow into loud roaring as a fight was about to break loose. Before she knew it the entire tavern had fallen in chaos and she saw men being thrown around and bottles being broken. Out of the crowd she saw a couple familiar faces. The man she had met the day before, one who had tried to win her over, and another man who tried to capture her earlier that summer.

Knowing how insane they both were, she was sure to stay out of sight. If either of them recognized her she was afraid of what they might attempt. So instead of trying to stop the violence, she simply sat there and enjoyed the show while munching down on her small plate of food.. until she saw someone else that caught her eye.

Something about him was familiar, as if he had some significance to her. It took several chimes for her to realize who he was. Rorick.. An old friend who had saved her life when they were both younger. When he became injured and hit the floor she knew she had to do something to return the favor he had done for her.

Quickly Amora sprung up off the stool she sat on and weaved her way through the angry people until she was in between the attackers and their victim.

"Stop!" A pleading cry forced its way out of her as she stood over him, shielding her own face with her arms in case of any blows that might hit her in the crossfire. Hopefully seeing a familiar face would stop the two men, then maybe she could make a fair trade for Rorick's life.

In the arms of violence

Postby Gauge Barlow on August 13th, 2013, 10:55 am

Gauge was about to put his boot to the back if the mans head and stomp it into the floorboards when a very familiar voice pleaded for the mans life. Instead he grabbed a fist full of the mans hair and pulled him closer before looking at who interrupted the symphony of pain that was about to begin for this brave man.

To his surprise it was Jade, his project from the previous day. Seeing her here brought a grizzly smile to Gauges lips. But that smile was gone in almost an instant at his fallowing thought. Jade fancied this man.. Yes. Yes he was brave, but the guy was a shade compared to himself! A frown of rage twisted on Gauges face as he locked his arm around the mans neck. The lock Gauge had him in was similar to the girls from earlier, though this one was more painful, squeezing his arm closer he choked his hostage before speaking. "Oh. Why, does he mean something to you?!" The frown of jealousy on Gauge was replaced by a sadistic smile, all to eager to hear his damsels response.

In the arms of violence

Garin eyes all this with interest. He sheathes his dagger quietly. He grins at the hold he puts the man in.
"Ah, Jade! How nice to see you again! How have you been?"

Now he goes to grab her by her hair and lift her to face level. His breath smells slightly of drink, and he still has his shiv in the other hand.

"Indeed, does this man mean something to you?" He says with a malicious grin.

He brushes her cheek with the back of his hand. There is the glint of cruel desire in his eyes.

"What are you willing to do to keep him alive?"

The meaning behind his words was obvious. He may have been robbed of his prize before, but he obviously had no intention of losing her again. He had his mind set on enjoying himself, and it seemed as though it was either she give herself up or Rorick dies. However, because Garin is somewhat drunk and not entirely, though he is for the most part, in his right might, she might just be able to talk her way out of this.

In the arms of violence

Postby Amora Jade on August 20th, 2013, 5:58 pm

The pain from having her hair grabbed as leverage to pull her caused Amora to whine slightly like a small animal. This wasn't something that surprised her, she sort of expected one of them to get violent towards her in the attempt to rescue her childhood savior. The relation between Rorick and herself wasn't what the two men assumed, she merely wanted to repay the debt of life he had created a long time ago.

The disgusting smell of alcohol on the man's breath made her feel a bit queasy, but she tried hard not to show it. Looking back at the man from the previous day and his victim, she spoke, "He helped save my life once a long time ago..." Before continuing she looked back at the man who held her, "I'm only looking to return the favor to him."

The shame of what she might have to go through in order for his life to be spared had her looking at her feet and mumbling, "We can work out the details of the exchange outside." There was no way she would be going to bed with either of these men, she would have to find some way out of the situation when the time came. For now though, she needed to lure them away.

OOCI was waiting for Rorick to respond, perhaps her just needs a bit more leverage.

In the arms of violence

Postby Gauge Barlow on August 21st, 2013, 7:05 am

Seeing the stranger grab Jade sent a pulse of rage through Gauge's veins. No one touches his things. "Let her go, NOW! She's mine!" Gauge threw the half-conscious man in his lock to the floor and started walking towards Jade and the stranger. Quickly closing the ground he put his arms between them and put all his might into separating them, the sweat on his arms set a particularly strange sensation through his skin. The thought of having his subject in danger from another made him slightly nervous. "Touch her again and I'll kill you," looking at jade he continued, "Trying to get your head chopped off again, I see.. There's nothing to work out, your friend here doesn't know his place in the food chain. But you still have a chance to show me that you do." Gauge looked at Jade hungrily, then his attention snapped back to his new friend, "I've already tenderized that wench over there, she's all yours." Gauge tilted his head over towards the unconscious woman he kicked into the men at the start of the brawl.

Gauge studied the man to see if he would try making a move on him, things where good in his eyes. Everyone gets something they want, though he wondered why Jade wanted to talk outside, maybe she felt a little overwhelmed and out of her environment. Gauge clenched his fists and waited for there responses, part of him didn't want to reason with Jade, part of him begged to take what he wanted from her and throw her into a dark alley and let the city have its way with her after he had. Maybe he jut had a soft spot, he didn't know.
