This shining population center is considered the jewel of The Sylira Region. Home of the vast majority of Mizahar's population, Syliras is nestled in a quiet, sprawling valley on the shores of the Suvan Sea. [Lore]

Kaie nodded solemnly to show her understanding. Defense before offense. Common sense before self defense. The concept seemed easy enough. It shouldn't be too hard to pass along. There was technique to take into consideration Sagitta would lack, but other than that it was simple. All could be taught. Kaie knew the secret with unarmed combat was fluidity. All attacks lead to another. That went for counters, too.
"We can do that, but first you'll need to get in a proper fighting stance. Your feet should be about shoulder width apart. Keep a bend in your knees and your back straight. If you're right handed, you'll want your left foot slightly in front of the other. Don't turn sideways," Kaie began easily, speaking verbatim from memory it seemed. Her tone was crisp and a bit professional. Immediately she began stepping toward Sagitta, turning to slowly pace around her patiently. Inspecting her. Analyzing her. To Kaie, this was an art to be perfected. Though she was no qualified critic, she would certainly try to keep Sagitta up to reasonable par.
"Oh, and try not to be rigid. Bring your hands up to guard your face. They don't have to be in fists."
OOC:Sorry for the delay! Sports season is getting to that nitty gritty end!

Sagitta listened to Kaie's instructions carefully, spreading her feet apart. The posture felt slightly awkward to her but she ignored it. It made enough sense to have a proper stance - after all, she had learned the hard way that getting knocked down was no fun. It felt different, somehow. Sagitta was not used to making a stand, to stand firm anywhere. She was always, always moving.
"If you don't mind me asking, what had gotten you to Syliras?" the Ethaefal asked as she brought her hands up, her palms curling into fists. "You don't seem like any of the citizens around here." There was a slight accent from Kaie's words and she couldn't help noticing.

The Myrian woman began to walk to the woman's side, inspecting her positioning meticulously. The woman looked out of place in that stance. Perhaps it was because she had watched her get knocked around without much of a fight prior to the lesson. It could've just been how fragile she seemed. None of that mattered then. Everyone started somewhere and comfort came with repetition and confidence. Kaie wasn't worried about anything other than proper technique. All else would come.
"I am from Falyndar. Myrian. You're right. This city is not my home," Kaie confirmed simply, eyes flickering down to check the angles of her feet. When she was satisfied she let them wander back to her face. It was easy to address her observation rather than answer her question. In reality, Kaie wasn't quite sure how to answer it. More so, she was sure she didn't want to. "Business," She lied as smoothly as she could, trying to remove any emotion that remained as a telltale to her dishonesty. Only the lack of emotion and further detachment might've betrayed her.
"You should always keep your guard up. Elbows close to your sides to protect ribs. Hands should be up and ready to block the face. Open or in fists, it doesn't matter," Kaie continued, evading the subject as coolly as she could. Hopefully the transition was more smooth than off-putting.
