"Shyke," She hissed to herself upon hearing a rustle within the brush. It had taken her forever to string the damn long bow. Far longer than she remembered it had been when she had done it in Taloba. With her quiver on her back and put together longbow in hand, Kaie was prepared for a round of target practice. Might as well shoot at something to better her shot. The sound had come from across the way and the animal was surely not a deer. This one was definitely larger and heavier. A bear? Mountain lion? It didn't matter to her. Either would prove a great target to fire at. Both would have resources for her disposal if she took one down. From where though?

Searching the forest, Kaie remembered the abundance of trees and immediately opted for them. She neared one of the taller ones. One that seemed to have better climbing branches and a better view for distance. She fastened the bow across her chest to free her two hands, staring up the trunk. Mentally preparing herself for the climb. She would not fall.

Kaie leaped up and snagged the first branch. The bark was moist and mossy, a reminder to take extra care. She pulled herself up and gripped the next branch. Then the next. Sometimes she leaped to cross a distance or swung her legs out dangerously to find a new spot. Eventually, she made it to a nice perch. A place where her view wasn't obstructed by other branches. A place to take aim at the creatures below.

The Myrian woman placed her bow on her lap and retrieved an arrow from her quiver. She wasn't very good at all. In fact she was almost foreign to the whole weapon. Kaie had touched it maybe once or twice back in Taloba but she was never a prodigy. She honestly couldn't really expect she'd even hit her target. Nonetheless, she'd try anyhow.

She placed the arrow on the bowstring and lifted her weapon. She pulled the arrow back on the string until it was taught at her chin. Aiming where she heard the next rustle, she released the arrow excitedly. The bowstring came back to snap brutally against her skin, but she wasn't too concerned. All she could watch and think about was her arrow. Had it hit?

Sei was having a great day. He was chasing the buck of his dreams, listening to the burly sound of hooves on the dirt path in the Bronze Woods. Sei smoothly and swiftly made a right turn. Sei's paws were beating against the ground, twigs, bronze and gold leaves, and clots of dirt crumbled under them, as he was in hot pursuit of the deer. Sei noticed the deer was starting to slow. Here's my chance! Sei thought, as he began to lung for the deer. Unsheathing his claws, Sei dug into the bucks skin, and clung his teeth to the Bucks' neck. The deer kicked and squealed, as it struggled to remove it's threat.

The buck started to go limp, and collapsed at Sei's paws. By then, Sei's fur was soaked with blood, and his mouth was full of the metallic taste of blood. Sei dropped the deer and observed the size. It had to be at least 197lbs., and would fetch a good price. Sei grabbed the now limp, lifeless deer by the neck, and dragged it at his side. Sei walked through some bushes, rustling them. Sei paused and thought he smelled something, but disregarded it and moved on. Sei saw a nice area with many trees and plump bushes.

Sei walked a several yards and stopped in at a bush surrounded by trees. Sei lay down and stared at the meat. Sei tore at the deers' flesh with teeth, chewing it ever so slowly, and letting the red liquid flow into his throat. Sei took several bites, enjoying the warm meal bite by bite. Sei's ears perked at some kind of sound, but quickly dismissed it as his imagination. Until something sharp nicked his left paw. Shyke! What was that?! Sei wondered, turning his head, as he was on his paws as soon as he'd been nicked. An Arrow. Someone or something had tried to Shoot him with an Arrow. Sei perked his ears and looked in the direction the arrow had come from, and sure enough, a woman with a bow was sitting in a tree, and was looking to see if she'd hit her target. Big mistake Sei thought. Sei growled and ran steadily toward the woman.

Kaie sat straighter on her perch, craning to see through the brush below. Hoping she managed to hit something other than a tree. She narrowed her eyes, staring intently in the direction she had fired. All seemed quiet. The rustling had stopped. Had she actually managed to kill whatever it was?

Suddenly she caught sight of two green eyes. Large eyes. Those sure didn't belong to a fawn or your average feline.

For Myri sake...That can't be one of Navre's cats can it?

Paired with a growl, the white tiger ran from his cover toward her. Now she could see it certainly wasn't a Myrian Tiger she angered (thankfully), but a white tiger. Is that what she had hit? There wasn't an arrow stuck to his body, though. Either way, it looked pretty irate.

It was coming toward her fast. Angry paws pacing furiously toward her perch. Kaie just looked down at the animal, chocolate brown eyes wide in anticipation. Then realization hit and they returned to normal, a smug grin replacing her slight shock. The tiger could growl and hiss at her all it wanted. She wasn't an idiot who would climb down and face a massive cat head on. That was suicide despite her weapons. Fighting a Myrian Tiger was asking for Dira to sweep you off your feet right then and there. A regular tiger wasn't quite to par, but dangerous all the same.

If it wants me...It'll just have to climb up here and get me.

The Myrian woman placed another arrow on the bowstring. She didn't pull back very far, not yet. Her arms were relaxed for now. All she did was position herself and point the bow down at the creature...Waiting to see what it would do.

Sei visualized the womans movement. She could now see him clearly now, as he surged toward the tree Sei had a clear idea of the problem. The woman was going to kill him, and use him as a trade for mizas. This disturbing realization powered his rage even more, and he gained a rush of adrenaline, making him run faster than he knew he could. The woman kept her eyes on the him, her eyes tracing Sei's every move. Sei growled ferociously, baring his almight, bloodstained fangs, which exposed his bloodstained chest. As he surged toward the woman he was blind with rage.

Sei watched as the woman sat perched the tree, taking an arrow and putting the end of on the bow string. Streching back the bowstring with the arrow until it was nearly touching her chin. The woman followed Sei's movements with the bow, carefully tracing lines in the air, as she kept the arrow in line. By now he figured the woman had locked on to him, and that she had known better than to leave the tree. She knew it was certain death. He sprinted on though.

Sei knew he had to find some cover, or she would quickly shoot him down. He leapt to the right into a cluster of trees, and continued to gain the ground between him and his attacker. Sei sniffed the air, trying to get hold of the womans sent. To the west were he'd come from his deer hadn't been moved, as the smell of decay and the metallic sent of blood drifted it's way in to his nose. To the west, the sickening smell of sweat filled his nose. That had to be the woman, because that was the direction he was going in. He beban to run, which would be a little faster than sprinting. He was still raging about the woman.

How dare she hunt him. He would make her pay dearly for it. Sei slowed to a light jog, as the smell of sweat grew unbearably strong. He knew she had been in a tree, now it was a simple game of scent tracking. He scanned the area, looking in all the trees. He couldn't climb a tree, but he could claw his way up it. He had been searching for a little while before he had the highest possible scent of sweat imaginable. He glanced up the nearby tree, and found the woman perched in the tree. He couldn't see what she was doing, but he knew she wouldn't be able to find him for awhile.

She waited patiently, watching the white beast run past her toward the brush. She could hear him before he disappeared. Growling and hissing in spite of her. He had been caked across his chest, muzzle, and paws in the blood of some recent kill. A kill that wouldn't be one she'd follow. Then he was gone.

Her brow furrowed but overall she was relaxed. She was pretty damn high in the tree. The trunk was too thick to simply be broken over. Kaie was moderately safe in her perch. She had the upper hand in height. She had the advantage of range. It would be like a spear fisher waiting for the salmon to flood the rivers. The tiger hadn't a chance against her here, right?

The Myrian woman kept her head on a swivel. Neck craned around the tree, eyes darting lazily about. She stayed quiet. Focused. Waiting on that sound, that flash of color that didn't belong in these woods, to signal the presence of the beast. When he would appear, she would make it rain on him. She'd fire her arrows until her quiver ran empty. Kaie was horrible shot, but wasn't one bound to hit it just right if she kept at it enough?

"Might as well get this over with. You can't get me anyways you know," She said comfortably from the tree, still searching for the animal. Her words were empty. Just nameless phrases thrown into thin air toward an animal who couldn't understand her tongue. Simply a conversation that would be mostly unanswered. Her bow hand was still relaxed. Maybe it wasn't such a great idea to fire blindly. It wasn't helping her much now.

Preferably, Kaie would rather fight with fists. That wasn't to say she wasn't grateful for her bow, but that certainly wasn't her niche. Not yet, anyways.
If she was going to be realistic, Kaie knew that even one well placed arrow wasn't going to do it. Not likely. Firing down, hoping she'd hit him, would have the same effect were she to try to catch a frog with her eyes closed. Just about hopeless and a waste of time. It was unfair, really.

Gradually, Kaie lowered her bow entirely. Her fingers removed the arrow from the string and returned it to her quiver. Then she fastened the bow across her chest to free her hands. She didn't need arrows all the way up in this tree. She could still hack anything coming her way with her gladius. One question still remained in her mind: Where the petch did it go?

Gods, this would be far less difficult with a barbarian.

OOC:Jeez, Sei, my Myrian isn't that dirty! :(

Sei watched the woman intently. For a moment she looked concerned, and then her face and body relaxed as she spoke. He couldn't understand the language, but it sounded like she was speaking Myrian. A Myrian woman? He repeated mentally. Sei's face became hard, and his heartbeat quickened at a finall realization. Myrian's are cannibals... Does she.. Does she mean to EAT me?! Shyke! The thought hit him like a boulder. He knew her intentions, and now he was furious. Now he knew why the savage was so smart. Myrian's were born hunters and fighters, and they had many skills.

Sei watched as the woman lowered the bow and put the arrow back in her quiver. She then put the bow on her back and looked around. It was clear thst the bow wasn't very useful for the time, but she still scanned the area with her eyes. He didn't exactly know what she was going to do, and he knew better than to climb the tree and get a booted in the face for a second time. As he circled the tree, he kept his eyes on the Myrian at all times. Keeping his guard up, he searched for something that would help his get into the tree without to mucj noise. He ducked back to the bush and continued to watch her.

Sei approached the tree once more after another bell. Looking up, he saw the woman was still there, waiting for an opportunity to kill him for a snack.
"Give up. There's nowhere to run." He taunted, circling the tree. Of course, all the Myrian probably heard was growling, but the message should have been made clear. He quickly clawed at the trunk, exposing his sharp nails. He growled intensely, baring his long, bloodstained teeth once more. This gave him an idea. Although he'd never tried before, it might help to try more than hurt. He dug one paw deep into the tree trunk, gripping it with his claws as much as he could, and draged himself up the tree. For the first time, he climbed the tree.

Sei dug deep with the next paw, his hind legs struggling for a foothold on the trunk. He took another tug at the branch, and strained to lift himself higher. Shyke.. This is difficult.. He thought, as he began to close the distance between him and the Myrian woman. Sei knew he had to advise caution, or else she'd kill him or knock him out the tree. As he braved the tree, the clumsiness of his footing faded, as he gradually figured out how to hoist his body weight easily. He then clung to thick branch a few yards below the woman. He was careful not to let his accomplishment blind him. He stared intently at the Myrian, waiting for her to make a move, but he couldn't help but notice the Myrians' beauty. Her long, dark brown hair was a complimentary asset of her brown eyes, which grew amber in the light.

Sei dismissed the thought. She was trying to kill him, and all he could think about was her Looks?! It was unacceptable, and he needed to end this quickly. He growled and waited for his move.

OOCIt's not that! Remember animals have acute smell, and it's 10x better than humans. It's not that you that dirty, that's just how good his nose is, I promise!

There came the growls again. The pacing and the not so silent, animalistic curses she couldn't understand. It was almost entertaining to watch. Every now and then she'd see him pass under her, far below circling her tree. Planning. Plotting a way to reach her she assumed. What was he going to do? She had arms and legs. He did not. She had weapons, well he had weapons too, but she had a greater variety.

Then she heard the scratching. Claw on bark. Her eyes narrowed and swung herself around on her perch to check out what was going on below. Was he..Trying to climb up the tree after her? She knew tigers were capable of climbing trees from her experiences in Falyndar but here? Where there were so many branches to avoid? That was an attempt she didn't expect.

He hadn't seemed to get very high at all. Not nearly high enough for her to truly feel threatened. The idea he'd get a sudden burst of energy and confident to propel him up the tree did cloud her with doubt, though. Enough doubt to get a new idea. Kaie turned her gaze to the neighboring trees, searching for a worthy branch to support her. A new perch that would make all the tiger's efforts hopeless. Then she found it.

The branch was thick and sturdy looking. Only problem was there was enough of a gap to force her to leap. The jump wouldn't be too wide but the risks weren't any lower. It seemed better than the alternative: waiting for the tiger to commit. So she went for it. Hands steadied herself for good measure and feet moved step by step toward the branch's end. She could make it the jump now. All she had to do was focus.

Kaie rocked back toward her heels for a moment, before springing forward with arms outstretched. Finally her hands found the branch fingers curled tightly around it. It was a white knuckled grip. The kind that made it clear she was well aware of consequences of failure. Unfortunately her landing was, well, off...

As soon as she got a hold of the branch, it drooped under the new weight. Immediately the alarms in her head let her know she had severely miscalculated its strength. Panic flooded Kaie's body, adrenaline kicking in as she felt gravity's power. Frantically, she swung her legs up toward the branch's foundation. Just when she was sure the wood was about to snap, her legs locked around the branch and her weight had distributed enough to save her. Heart still racing, the Myrian hastily maneuvered her body to sit upright on the branch.

All of this trouble would've forced a human to give up or start hurling things her way. Even a barbarian would've seen that pursuing her was wasteful. This tiger was different. Given a spear she would've made a go on the ground, to spear the animal hunting her. Kaie would've given anything for the opportunity to get comfortable with just her fists.

OOCI was kidding don't worry! :)

Sei grinned at the Myrian. From the looks of it, she was going to switch trees. This was his chance. He quickly began his transformation, as he watched the myrian steady herself as she moved closer to the edge. She outstretched her arms and carefully moved toward the edge of the branch. He knew that she was going to do something stupid. He hadn't started transforming, and was about to lunge for her when she leaped for a nearby branch.

Sei watched as the Myrian womens' hands coiled around the branch, as she easily pulled herself onto the branch. He watched her scuttle through the tree, assuming she was looking for a new perch. He quickly thrust his paw into the tree trunk, digging deeply with his claws, and doing the same with the other. He then clung to the Myrians' latest branch perch, and struggled to heft himself onto it.

Sei growled, and stood his ground.
"You can't run forever.. Soon you'll know what not to NOT to hunt."He hissed. He knew she didn't understand tiger, but the intimidation she had to be feeling was good enough to cover for it in his mind. He walked slowly to the end of the branch, steadied himself, and he lunged for the other branch.

As soon as she had turned back to face her old tree and current pursuer, she saw the claws again. They were scrapping the bark of the tree maliciously. She couldn't help but be reminded of her own skin and he tore at it, attempting to climb. Then he was on her old branch like a reminder of how close he could've been. Hissing and growling at her. Kaie narrowed her eyes at the beast and immediately put her hand on the handle of her gladius. The snarls had sent a new rush of adrenaline through her body. A reminder of the obvious danger. Fight or flight. This Myrian was done running.

Kaie tore her gladius from its sheath viciously. The metallic sound pierced the air as sharply as her blade's edge pierced skin. She wasn't too great at it, but she could certainly swing and hack with it if need be. It was better than nothing. Steel against claws and teeth were better odds than her fists. She watched him slink out along the branch toward her. Readying himself for the leap. Kaie stared at him with glowering eyes. Furious he dared follow her. She could see him lean back on his hindquarters. It was the most obvious foreboding of his next action.

Before he could rocket forward, Kaie hopped to another nearby branch just a bit higher than her previous one. Then she turned just as the tiger's paws were lifting from the wood and crouched, swinging her sword down with all her strength. She let out a cry from the power, eyes narrowed and adrenaline fueling her power. The blade cut deep into the heart of the branch and it severed the perch immediately. With half of it still connected, Kaie panicked and smashed her foot into its splinters just as the tiger was nearing his landing. As soon as she struck it she tucked herself back to her branch and out of the way of his range. His branch collapsed from the trunk entirely just before his paws hit it. She scrambled for a better hold to secure her own balance on her foothold, waiting to hopefully hear the sound of a tiger crashing through the leaves.

Sei sprang from his perch, his front and hind legs stretched to the fullest as he aimed for another branch. That was what he Thought he was doing, before he realized the Myrians' intention. He should have know from the rage in her eyes. The Myrian unsheathed a sword, the sound of the vibration stinging his ears, as she called out while putting all her strength into her arms, and hacked at the branch he was reaching for just as he lifted from his current branch. The Myrian intensified and struck the tree with her foot, knocking it completely to the ground below, just as his paws were about to touch it.

Sei clawed at the tree trunk, desperately fighting for a foothold. He finally caught a grip. He hefted himself and clung to the trunk. Searching the tree, he found a suitable branch and clawed his way up. He saw the Myrian curl up out of his reach, and hoped to the closet thick branch. When he had steadied himself upon the branch, his eyes narrowed with rage. How dare she?! I KILL her!! He raged. "Time to die, Myrian!" He growled. He sprang to a lower branch, steadied himself, and growled. He flicked his tail and twiched his ears. He sprang to the ground and ran off. He growled as he went.

Sei had run for at least one bell. A little closer, he saw a black backpack. He quickly sprinted toward the pack, and stopped. He stood on his hindlegs and began his transformation. He could feel the fur retract, and hear the crik of his bones snaping into place and reforming. He opened his eyes and grabbed his bag. He put on his clothing and slipped on his knuckleduster. He ran back the way he came, his backpack slung across his back, and made his way back to the Woman.

OOCI was on my 3DS when I got the box code, so I had to write it down and copy it and I copied it wrong. :P It's all fixed now though.
