There it was, that familiar prickle, that tingle that arched up the spine and filled the mind with fogged notions of deeper meanings. The words spoken were soft, yet rang loudly in Evalin's ears even as her undead heart quivered, filling once more with a sense that what was said was of the utmost importance. For a moment Evalin halted the spinning flames, letting them stand still in air though they still lit about the intruder. She glanced back at that man, that man carved of tapestries of night and drenched in the greatest mysteries of this world. That man who claimed more than he knew, who called more than he could ever imagine to light within the girl.

The light of fury dulled slightly in those eyes, replaced by something more subdued, though no less powerful. Devotion, loyalty, and perhaps other lost intentions that could never truly be placed. Evalin slowly lowered her arms, the flaming spears disappearing in a sudden puff of smoke, and the flames that lit the tight space dulled, slipping away to something barely more than a candle which which lept over Avris to rest within Evalin's up held palm. One finger absently played with the flickering light, and the girl did not look up, something soft in her voice very much akin to embarrassment fueled irritation, "If you have expectations of guests then best be told to those who guard your treasures..." it was almost a pout, but not quite.

Evalin fell silent, looking at the man with eyes just ticks away from exploding to fury once more, should the command ever arise. Yet she held her tongue, subtly shifting her body back to stand at her master's shoulder, just a step behind as was respectful. Her eyes would flick to this cloaked deity which, in this girls mind, held more sway over the world than even the gods themselves.

OOCI AM SO SORRY!!! OMG I am so sorry for taking so long. Evalin went inactive in the stress of life, and I left this thread hanging. I am getting active once more, so if you are still there Avris I beg your forgiveness and I would love it if we could continue. Again please forgive me T.T

Wretched Aura: As a Wretched One Evalin possesses an unnatural aura about her that causes unease in those who get too close. It can come as a prickle of the hair on the back of the neck, a sense of 'wrongness' about her. How people experience it is different depending on their personality and how they handle the unnatural and unknown. Animals tend to become more agitated, more easily sensing how wrong Evalin is and often avoiding contact with her.

”Avris” the nuit responded, watching him closely, committing the name to memory. Rayage frowned at how the other reacted. He seemed a bit too sarcastic for someone in his position, but Rayage quickly found out why. The man was a nuit. He openly admitted the fact. The fool. ”Your own kind are reclusive and secretive.” Ray answered the man, watching Evalin now.

”Eva, my dear,” he said, ”you acted wonderfully. You never fail to impress.” he smirked, glad that the girl decided not to burn down his lab along with his foes. Her fire knew little bounds, especially when it was stoked with anger and rage. ”Though that is why I made you.” he smiled, returning his attention to the other, Avris.

’What brings you here? If it is to steal I hope you would leave now before I change my mind. Im not sure how you found this lab, but if it is by accident, leave. There is nothing here for you. Nothing.” he told him, ”And do not talk to us with such a disrespect again. We will treat guests how they deserve to be treated. Once you have earned respect, you will be shown it.”

”I have never heard you name before. So, it’s likely that you don’t hold any significant weight in political power. A nobody. A wanderer in time, someone, who if disappeared, no one will notice.” Rayage’s smiled turned into a wicked grin at his assessment of the man, ”State your business, and if it is not to my apprentices liking then she is free to do what she will. After all, it is horribly rude to incinerate guests upon just arriving.”

This was the first and only chance that Avris had to save himself or run out of the lab and never look back. Will his words sway the being of flame and shadow? She was, after all, newly nuit and easily swayed by emotions.

Immortal Tales- Three Rings Interlock (Rayage, Avris)

Postby Avris on June 15th, 2014, 10:21 pm

Avris was locked into place, completely still as his mind began to fully wrap around the scenario he was in. The thought of turning heel and exiting the hallway and back into the night had crossed his mind, but only for a moment. There where manny things that had caught the arrogant young nuits attention. The most important word, 'Lab'. In truth, while he was living he had never been spoken to in such a way. It gnawed at him, the faintest frown forming on his cold lips for a few still moments before they began to form words "I apologize if i have offended. It was the last thing i intended." The young nuit studied the man, his dark eyes examining his body's condition. "That is all i am now, yes. A wanderer, aimlessly putting one foot in front of the other. With no small skill in a... Laboratory." He paused to let what he thought the man wanted to hear soak in. The mans invitation to leave extended to a thief, for someone who wanted physical trinkets, and after hearing of a lab, he knew there was something of much greater value here given the power of his 'hosts'. Knowledge.

Avris took a bold step forward, his arms wide open to show a gesture of peace "May I have my honored hosts name? Perhaps a professor?--" His eyes where slow to react to his minds command as they glanced from the decaying man to the fresh beauty, waiting for her seemingly unstable nature to conjure more flames. Avris lowered his hood to reveal his vessels rough features, features of a young man who had seen most of his years turning the earth. His short blond hair was wildly tossed from the hood, his eyes dark and slightly sunk in from a slight case of death. His dead hosts facial features where rather plain and unremarkable, as was his size. The air hung thick with uncertainty from his perception, as death could come at any moment.
