Learning new languages?

Is there an accepted process for learning new languages? I am almost positive that I have seen a Founder blurb on this, or some sort of article. I cannot find it for the life of me, and I am afraid it is hidden somewhere really obvious. Learning a new language would be a fairly difficult process, so I am trying to figure out how it would work mechanics-wise. Would a ST merely award "Lore of Common Language: Fluent", for example? Would this be after a few threads of studying the language, or working with some sort of teacher?

Right now we have no system in place to learn new languages or even boost the ones we have but the founders know it's something they will have to look at down the road just right now its not high on the list.


HOWEVER

You can still learn new languages. Just talk to the mod of the city and work something out and show a few threads you are "learning" and they will be able to give it as a reward such as Common: Basic to Common: Fluent etc.

It's how Vick is getting his basic common up another level.

Vick is pretty spot on. Just to reiterate and add to what he stated, I once did inquire about languages to a ST. I believe said moderator claimed that it takes at least 20 threads of learning to reach fluency in a language, roughly. I also heard that when you have your threads graded you can request them to pay special attention to language. Some grade language each time and others do not, so really it'll be best to ask them. As long as you can show a moderator a list of threads of your character learning, they should be able to judge a fair level of fluency.

I hope I helped a little, and anyone else can feel free to correct me if I've made an error. Just tried to regurgitate what I believe was once touched upon at another time.
