After Sayren finished her warm-ups, Revy handed Sayren her longsword. Wanting Sayren a chance to wield an actual weapon since her only experience with weapons thus far were just wooden swords. The real longsword was much heavier than those poor wooden resemblances. Revy told her to get a few swings with it, then they would spar and Revy would show her some weakpoints within plate armor. That would be helpful. Especially if she went against foes with heavy armor. That alone was unlikely since they were in Nyka. However, the possibility was still there.

She began with a labored swing from the right over to the left. It took more effort than she guessed it would be. The sword almost threw her off balance and it swung lower than she had intended for it to be. How she had imagined it, it would've struck an opponent about the chest area. However, it would've hit the person in the hip instead because of how the blade veered off.

She watched as Revy did a few vertical strokes as well. She attempted to mimic it, but instead of going upwards, she struck downwards. Hoping to use gravity to her advantage to add power to her strike. The tip of the sword barely scraped the floor as she raised it back up. More determined, she brought the sword over towards the right and heaved it to the right. Applying a little bit more strength to keep the blade more on course.

After that, she placed the sword against a wall and reached for a wooden training sword. More accustomed to this blade, it didn't take her long for a few test swings to get used to the motions again. She gripped the handle tightly as she began with a downward strike. Bringing the blade's tip to about her waist level before raising it back up. As she continued them, she reached to about twenty-nine strikes rather quickly. Testing out a theory, as she landed the twenty-ninth strike, she used the motion, twisting on her feet with the momentum, turning her body as she lifts the handle and arms over her head. Rapidly finishing her rotation with a quick downward slash as she brought the blade over her right shoulder and brought it towards the ground.

Once finished, she quickly got to her feet and raised the sword in a vertical stance in front of her face and chest for posture. "I'm ready Miss Hiroe...How will we spar?"

A spoon full of sugar makes the medicine go down (Revy)

Why was using this weapon so much harder then using her own sword? Ugh, if only she could move a bit more fluently with that weapon, it'd be easier to get her training done easier. Then again... then she wouldn't have to train as much. So she just continued her repetitive swings. Her upwardly aimed swings still felt awkward, but at least they were starting to look more fluid.

And then the girl had finished her own practices. She didn't look too tired, so they could easily go for some more practice. Since the woman was wearing her armor, it was a good opportunity to teach Sayren about the gaps in it. It wasn't likely that she was going to need that experience, but it wouldn't hurt to know it. After all, it was just knowledge. "Well, I'm gonna teach you the gaps in full plate armor. Fighting someone who is wearing full plate is hard, if not impossible to win. Unless you know about the gaps in the armor.", she explained.

She took a stance right in front of Sayren and spread her hands apart. She still held her glaive in her right hand, but that didn't really matter. "Ok, so if one was to fight someone as heavily armored as me, the most obvious spots to strike would be the inner elbows, armpits and the back of the knee. If they aren't wearing a neck protector, it is also possible to stick your sword in through there, but that is quite risky.", she explained. "Take a look at the spots I told you about. You can see for yourself."

After Sayren finished her rounds, Revy too had finished and stepped in front of Sayren. Telling her that while fighting someone with plated armor would be difficult, it isn't impossible if you knew where to strike. With that, the mercenary pointed to these gaps. Listing them off one by one, from the inner elbows, the armpits, and even the backs of the knees if you wanted to incapacitate your foe. For a more lethal blow, however, it would have to be aimed towards the neck. Unless there was a neck protector there, then the chances of it being fatal were rather limited.

Revy then told Sayren to focus on these spots while the mercenary slid into a stance in front of Sayren. Sayren chewed on her lip, examining the specific points Revy had pointed out. They seemed like rather difficult areas to strike with a fist. Let alone a blade she wasn't quite too familiar with. Although, would these areas be struck in the right manner, her legs and arms would be hindered. Sayren remembered this from when she first faced Ximal. It's how Ximal practically made her all but about paralyzed for a few hours.

She doubted that she'd have the skill for that kind of accuracy for pressure points. But a nice whack to the back of anyone's knee should be able to drop them. Since she would have to be more strategic about this approach, she also figured she would learn how to better "block" attacks. Being able to play defensive against a heavily armored foe should be able to wear them out alot quicker than one who would wear leather or normal clothes.

"How would the proper technique to block with a sword? As much as I would like to rush an opponent, I feel that wouldn't be the smartest idea when it comes to one as armored as yourself. Just the slightest move in the right direction would change my attack from being effective to ineffective. So wouldn't I want the armored foe to try to tire themselves out? Just so I can hit their weak spots more effectively?"

The thing about sitting still, is that you have time to think. She had way too much time to think over the long passing days of healing. Meditation was truly helpful.

A spoon full of sugar makes the medicine go down (Revy)

Postby Revy Hiroe on November 13th, 2013, 3:50 pm

Ugh, her back was hurting right now. Man did she wish she could drop into bed. Why did she have to stay awake the whole night? She knew that Sayren would be able to do light training again today. "Petching shyke. I hate it when I can't sleep. Even though I got in some good training last night, it's not worth having this kind of aching back.", she thought to herself. She knew she had to stretch a bit in a bit. But right now she had to focus on Sayren.

Hmm, the girl was right. She had to learn how to deflect a blade. Either by striking it, or by just angling your sword in the strike-path. "Well, it's not so much blocking as more of deflecting.", she said as she walked over to the wall with training weapons. She put her glaive against the wall and grabbed the other wooden longsword. "You can do it two ways; Either by striking the weapon and redirecting it like that, or by just putting your sword in the way, angled in such a way that the blow slides over it.", she explained.

Once she stood back across Sayren, she said: "Try to strike me, whichever way you find fit. I'll deflect it." She took her stance, took a deep breath and focussed purely on the weapon in Sayren's hand. If the girl would listen and try to strike the mercenary, Revy would strike at the blade of the wooden weapon from below, making the blow go high. "As you can see, it not only protects yourself, but it also give you an opening to strike the opponent.", she explained as she tapped the girl's belly.

It took a few moments longer for Revy to respond than Sayren had anticipated. The woman still seemed completely and utterly exhausted, but she was still trying her best to teach Sayren. The mercenary began the subject by explaining that it wasn't blocking per say, but more or less deflecting the blow. This of course can be achieved one of two ways. Sayren could either one, hit the weapon directly and redirect it like that. Or perhaps she could just bring the sword in collision with the other, allowing Sayren to angle the blow into another direction.

Now Revy was going to lead by demonstration. She told Sayren to strike her and that the mercenary would deflect her attack. Sayren raised an eyebrow and shrugged. She doubted that she could really hurt the mercenary, even in her tired state. So Sayren nodded and gripped the sword tightly as she raised the sword upwards and struck down. Raising it towards her right and bringing it down towards the left. Hoping the angling would at least yield a compliment. Even though she knew her swings were far from perfect, she was praying that her swing had at least improved since last time.

Obviously not because the mercenary had easily deflected the strike. Striking the blade from below and making Sayren's sword rise up high. Sayren winced when she saw the sword coming for her belly, but all Revy did was give a light tap. Explaining to her how deflecting a strike could also leave the opponent open for a strike of your own.

Sayren gulped as she nodded, still frozen in place with her sword raised high. "Yeah, I can understand that. Least now I can fair a little bit better in a skirmish." She awkwardly lowered her sword to her side as she stared up at Revy, "So what's next?"

A spoon full of sugar makes the medicine go down (Revy)

Postby Revy Hiroe on December 30th, 2013, 1:53 pm

The girl quickly realized what situation she was in, and Revy had to give props for that. At least she wasn't ignorant in battle. However, if she was gonna react this slow in battle... oh ugh, what was she tired. It seemed to get worse the more she trained with Sayren. And this was all the fault of that no good Savio. The worst part about lack of sleep was always the pain in her back. Ugh, if only she could go to sleep right now.

She didn't really notice it herself, but she stared ahead of her with a slightly glazed look. What she did feel was that she could collapse any moment, but she had to stay awake right now. Sayren needed the training, especially since she had to strenghten back up again, after having spent so much time without any training. "Stay awake woman. This kid needs training and you can give it to her.", she chided herself.

Snapping back to reality, she scraped her throat and said: "Well, go and do three sets of a hundred swings. We need to get your stamina back up. Between each set, you can have five chimes rest.", she said, "Once you've done those three sets, take ten chimes rest and grab my sword for two sets of fifty swings each. I want you to get used to the weight of a real weapon. I'm gonna sit against the wall for a bit and look at your form. I'll decide what you have to do next based on how well it is."

And with that, she walked over to the wall, glad she could sit down. At first, she did what she had said and looked at the girl's form, but with her lack of sleep and the fact that she sat, while uncomfortable with her armor on, she fell asleep about ten chimes into Sayren's training.

A spoon full of sugar makes the medicine go down (Revy)

Sayren gawked her head to the side as she gazed at Revy. The woman had taken a moment of pause, seeming to almost stare off into the horizon before snapping back into the lesson. Wanting Sayren to do what seemed like an absurd amount of swings with both the practice sword and the actual weapon itself. However, it did come with some reasoning behind it. It was so Sayren could once again raise her stamina back up. All the time being on her arse really lessened her strength. So this test might actually prove a little more difficult than it would have before.

Revy concluded her orders with the mentor just sitting back and watching Sayren go through the forms, allowing Revy to see if there was anything Sayren needed to work on in the mean time before going into the next phase of the training.

Sayren took a big sigh as she lifted the practice sword. She grumbled in her mind about having to do nearly four hundred swings right off. She definitely needed the push though, because she could tell just by wielding the practice sword that she fell out of touch with it's weight.

She hefted the weight of the blade up as her feet slid into stance. Her eyes darted forward as she prepared her muscles for the strikes. It was never the first couple that did you in, it was the ones about half way through the tedious exercise. Cause if you got too worn out before the half marker, then the chances of her completing the exercise properly dropped.

She drew the sword back and slashed it downward, using the gravity to assist her rather than to cleave it across the air. As the blade reached about her hip's height, she swished the blade back around to where it originally was. She cringed for only a moment, the push ups made her arms sore, so the exercise was assuredly going to be difficult for her.

Nonetheless, she sucked it up and went on to the next swing. Progressing on to the next one after that. Trying to keep a somewhat fluid rhythm, even if it was a tad bit off beat. She struggled through the first set of strikes. Reaching the first fifty was much more tiring than she had remembered. She didn't even notice that her mentor and lover had fallen off to sleep.

Sayren had guessed she was doing well when Revy hadn't spoken up. After finishing the final swing in the set, with alot more intended effort in her proud accomplishment. She was a bit out of breath and her arms were even more so sore now.

She propped her little arse right beside Revy in bated breath, "So...did I do good then? Or did you just wait for me to do all that just to start over again with the correct form?" A few ticks went by and no answer. This raised an eyebrow from Sayren as she leaned forward in front of Revy, "Revy? Love?" She said as she waved her hand in front of the mercenary. Seemed the mercenary had dozed off.

Sayren smiled, she knew the mercenary deserved a quick break. Especially with how the woman had trained Savio the day before. Or so she had heard anyways. Savio always complained about Revy's teahing methods, but they seemed rather understandable in Sayren's eyes...or maybe her mentor took an affectionate turn whenever it came to Sayren. As hard as it was for Sayren to believe, she could definitely see the difference in how Revy has treated her since they had first met. Less cold, and definitely...well...more entertaining.

As much as Sayren wanted to just sit beside Revy for the rest of the afternoon, she knew she had to finish her training sets, or else Revy was really going to have her hide. Even if Sayren had no idea on how Revy would find out that the young drykas didn't finish.

Sayen groaned as she got to her feet again and lifted the practice sword off the ground. She casually stepped into her stance once more and took in a breath before bringing the sword down. Hefting back into position after tracing out an arch with the blade's tip.

She finished the set as well, but came out with dripping sweat and her arms more sore than before. She could feel the muscles in her arms pulsing from their work out. She sighed relief as she leaned back against the wall near Revy, dropping down onto her bum as her eyes shifted over to her lover. The mercenary was still deep in sleep. Sayren gave a small chuckle as she placed a small kiss on Revy's cheek on the helmet. "Sleep well..."

With how sore her arms were, she intentionally took a few more chimes longer to rest. Knowing she probably shouldn't have, but she didn't think it would've hurt anyone. When she finally caught her breath and cooled off a little, Sayren heaved herself back onto her feet and trudged over to the sword once more. Wanting to finish the last set in hopes of waking Revy up soon. That is if Sayren herself had the energy for what she had planned for her mentor. A small surprise for her lover after being so patient with her from the injury Sayren had received awhile ago.

Sayren gulped as she raised the practice sword again. She gave a low growl of determination before beginning the final set with the practice sword. Her arms were going to be displeased later on, but she was determined to make this last set go by as quickly as possible. She admitted, she definitely didn't have much rhythm this time. She didn't care, she was landing the blows as swiftly as she could, even though they lacked any grace.

By the time she finished, her chest heaved for breath and her shoulders hang wimpily over as she dragged herself over to Revy and dropped the practice sword beside them. Maybe lying about the final sets wouldn't be too terrible? Sayren glanced over at Revy while she licked her lips. Revy seemed so peaceful in her sleep, but surely the lovely mentor wouldn't mind the wake up to Sayren's touch.

Sayren leaned over and began to work at the tedious latches on Revy's armor. Sayren's eyes narrowed in annoyance when she couldn't find anything within the first few chimes. Her irritation only grew when her search became less and less successful.

She growled as she stood up quickly and glanced about at the room. Hopefully Savio was still at work...and even more so, she hoped Bones was out doing...whatever it was that Bones did. What all did the man do in his off time? She shrugged, the thought was really important to her at the moment. Having Revy to herself was.

So...the young drykas thought she could be sly as she began to work off her sweat drenched clothes. Right before her sleeping lover. Tossing the garments aside till she finally stood bare before the woman. Grinning seductively, Sayren got to her knees in front of Revy and leaned closely to the dozing mercenary. She reached under Revy's helmet to find the simplest latch she knew of, loosening it so she could at least remove so piece of this blasted armor. Then placed a deepened kiss on the woman's lips as Sayren brought Revy's palm onto her bare chest.

To her hopes, maybe the mercenary will be thrilled about being woken up.

A spoon full of sugar makes the medicine go down (Revy)

Postby Revy Hiroe on January 15th, 2014, 10:10 pm

Revy was rather deep asleep while Sayren was doing her training. It was a dark deep sleep, void of any dreams, or well none that she would remember when waking up. Because she was this deep asleep, she didn't notice what Sayren was up to at all. Not until the girl started to kiss her, did the mercenary wake up.

A soft and warm sensation on her lips, and not soon after inside her mouth, woke her up. Opening her eyes drowsy, she only saw Sayren's face. Her brain hadn't registered the fact that her hand was on the girl's breast. It could be because of her gauntlet, or because she was still only half asleep. So she slowly returned the kiss.

After breaking it off, she said: "Hey, you done with the sets?" Her voice soft and showing that she clearly was still half asleep. But then she saw her hand on Sayren's breast and that this girl was stark naked. While normally she would've just smiled, now her face went beetred because they were sort of in public. Anyone could walk in on them at any moment and it scared Revy a little. "S.... Sayren!? We're still in the training room......... why... aren't you scared of someone walking in on us?", she blurted out.

After a few moments of kissing, Sayren wondered if Revy would ever wake up. Surely some physical contact would work? And surely enough, it did. A startled Revy woken with eyes wide open in surprise. Questioning why exactly Sayren was completely nude in the training room of all places within the school? The more Sayren thought about it, the more she could see how Revy would be a bit distressed by it. However, Sayren dismissed the thought because she was so certain the other student and teacher were currently, NOT present on the grounds.

Sayren giggled after her paused moments of thought and poked Revy's nose. "Well. Figured I had to wake you up somehow. Besides, Savio is out at work and Bones is doing....whatever it is that Bones does." She shrugged. She honestly never knew what it was that Bones did on his spare time. Nor did she really have a proper introduction to the man. She only heard about the man and just assumed it was the one other person stumbling about the school grounds during certain hours of the day. Not like there were many people at the school to get confused about.

"However," Sayren said as she brought herself onto her feet. "If you are that nervous about anyone walking in on us. We can go over to the showers." Adding in a quick wink as she leaned over to grab her clothes. Walking away with a sway in her hips. "Don't keep me waiting for too long..." Giggling cause she couldn't believe she was actually doing this.

A spoon full of sugar makes the medicine go down (Revy)

Postby Revy Hiroe on February 1st, 2014, 10:50 pm

Revy felt a little glad that Sayren stopped seducing her. She didn't know if she could hold out at all right now. She really didn't want to do it here, because her mark would be visible. And if the monks saw that..... she didn't want to know what would happen. Most likely she was gonna be killed on the spot and Sayren too. She had to bite her lip to make sure she wasn't gonna stop that girl and attack her on the spot.

Well... the bathroom was a way better spot. At least it was private. But.... WHY did she have to sway her butt like that? Stark naked even. It only served to rile Revy up. "I'll pay her back for that. She can take off my armor. That'll teach her not to seduce me so good.", she thought as she got up to clean up the training room. It wasn't good if they let their training weapons scattered on the ground.

After having cleaned up, she returned to her room to grab herself a new pair of panties and her silk dress. It would be the second time she was gonna wear this piece. At first she wanted to show this to Zandelia first, but since she was nowhere to be found... Sayren was the lucky girl. She gniffled as she thought of the reaction Sayren would have at this piece of clothing.

Slowly making her way to the bathroom, she almost started to skip. She felt really happy right now. After all.. it was the first time in a long while since they could enjoy each other without having to pay attention to Say's foot. So upon entering, she said: "Sayren, help me get out of this and fast. We'll take a bath together right after."
