"...a street performer." The set of words etched on Sophia's mind. She had thoughts of becoming a busker, or wants to be one, even just for a day. Performing in the streets is an easy way of earning quick mizas-- pleasing the by-passers by doing what you are much likely capable of, and in return, the performer gets a couple or more charitable thanks as response for the entertainment. And another upside of it is schedule and location: perform in any place at any given time, a work with no hassle. Busking is Sophia's preferred job; though she got employed as a tavern musician, for a busker's loose pay is not quite enough to keep her from living a poor conditioned life.
She heard him speak again "Hey do you wanna see a trick? Her attention fixed at Itchy, wondering what he is about to do. "Alright for this trick I am going to cut off and reattach my fingers!" The man promptly stood up, sticking out a sharp knife on his hand.
His shocking declaration made Sophia worry about him. “What if he fails? What if his finger never attaches back?” Her mind gathered the thoughts of a man losing his finger.
“Are you ready?” Just as about Sophia was to say ‘wait’, Itchy quickly sliced his thumb. His responsive feeling of pain and agony made her realize that it was a fail performance. “Whaa- Wait!” Unsure what to do, she hesitantly stood up, overlooking the man as he began rolling down the floor. Sophia’s worries focused on Itchytell, her doubts whether his reaction was still part of the performance.
“... I think my finger is...” Itchy performed his jocular trick, a simple illusion that detaches his thumb.. Yes, it is quite simple, but the way he acted made it realistic. Sophia felt relief for him not losing his finger, and happiness in a way that a person would play that kind of performance for her.
“Well, isn’t that something.” He said, as ending statement for his presentation.
“Yes.. It really was something.” Sophia replied as both of them sat down. “You got me worried there for a moment, I really thought that you're gonna lose your finger.” She added, picking up the dagger that was idly laying on the table. Toying Itchy’s knife, she found it unique, in a sort of way that it can’t be bought from a regular shop. The sharp cold steel made it seem hard to utilize, and preferably will hurt its user if mishandled. That reminds her of how Ithcytell used his dagger to artistically ‘slice’ up his thumb. He wielded it like hot knife through butter, making Sophia realize that he was more experienced when it comes to dagger handling.
“More than that, I love the way you handled your blade.” She added as complement, returning the said dagger into Itchytell’s side of the table.
