Three years it had been. Three years of unlife, three years of true LIVING. She could walk, she could speak, she could do as she pleased, whens he pleased, when it did not interfere with her Master's work. Evalin, for the fist time in her few years of life, felt... happy. Such an odd feeling, so out of place in one such as her. There was no beating trapped within her chest, air did not whisper past her lips, and her eyes blinked only when she remembered to do so. She gazed at the world with eyes that saw but did not truly experience. She could walk about this world, yet somehow she was not a part of it. Days meant nothing, weeks fell to months fell to years, and all of it to Evalin felt like just a passing tick. She could still remember it with vivid clarity, that moment when she had given up everything, cast aside her mortality for this cursed life... This life that was freedom for her.

Running her hand along the bricks of housing as she walked, Evalin's eyes looked and took in all that was around her. The sounds of people talking, the whisper of wind upon her cold cheek which she felt despite her hood being up. The thunk of each foot on the wooden docks of her home. It was all... So new, so amazing, so fresh. She smiled as she realized that this is what she had been missing for so long. She could experience all that the world had to offer, and she was not held to a deadline, a ticking clock that was tied to the end of her life. Freedom... Free from the bonds of a mortal seeming, free from a life she did not choose, free to BE who and what she wished. Free... Free as one could ever be.

Pausing before a particular wall down a particular alley, Evalin pressed upon a very particular brick to bring forth the sounds of turning gears as a hidden door was opened, revealing the passage way into the lab of her Master, the Man Cloaked in Shadows, her teacher, and mentor. The smile spread wider as she pushed back her hood and entered the space, closing the door behind her and continuing on into the little area.

"I have returned my Dear Immortal, as you have bid me." She removed the cloak, carefully folding it and setting it upon the table, being certain she did not disturb any of the masses of paper there. Her hair was long with light curls, dark brown to match her eyes. A thin frame, a woman in her early twenties. Evalin had chosen this body well, and watched it carefully until the opportunity arose to take her for her own.

Turning from the table Evalin looked around the small room, a loving fondness in her expression as she said, "Be it your wish, I would come to learn from you once more. What may I assist you with?" There was a genuine eagerness in her voice, a wish to please, and her eyes, though dead, somehow held a lively light to them like one might see in a girl gazing upon someone she truly admired.

Wretched Aura: As a Wretched One Evalin possesses an unnatural aura about her that causes unease in those who get too close. It can come as a prickle of the hair on the back of the neck, a sense of 'wrongness' about her. How people experience it is different depending on their personality and how they handle the unnatural and unknown. Animals tend to become more agitated, more easily sensing how wrong Evalin is and often avoiding contact with her.

Immortal Tale- A Lesson for Two (Rayage)

Ledger Udate :
1 lb of lead- 5 SM
-1 GM as well for experiment

The nuit laughed at his own idea, he couldn’t believe he was doing this again. Though a nuit had to support himself somehow, right? He had not only himself to think about anymore, but Evalin as well, and with that little bit of added responsibility in mind Rayage went to work.

Notes were spread about the tiny space which served as his lab, all of past alchemical formulas which he had tired, but of the same experiment. It wasn’t like he needed the notes now, no, the formula was set in stone and had worked before. It was more for symbolic effect. The notes comforted the nuit in a way that he hadn’t found in many years. They were his legacy, and for now paper was all he could produce. Surrounded by his thoughts, ideas, connections, and theories there was nothing like looking around the room to see your accomplishments, big or small, strung and flown about almost every page visible. In this madness the nuit worked with glee, carefully avoiding the papers as he worked setting up the Alchemy circle.

Today was the day which he was going to try to get Evalin to embrace the concept of change. For that, he needed to show a direct example of change’s power. Alchemy was the perfect way to do that, but for her to truly understand what change is capable of, she first needed to understand Alchemy. The undead had a simple demonstration for just that.

Ichor was shed with a quick prick from the nuits knife, and the small wounded finger was placed gently on the Alchemy Circles Keystone. The touch was delicate and it was like the nuit was touching something precious to him as he bent there, single finger touching the stone, and when the cold contact was made the connection was felt. The stones touch seemed to fade to the back of his mind as his senses were elevated by the circle. A feeling of wholeness was present, and a smile spread across the nuits face. This feeling was the feeling which he lived for. Alchemy truly was the reason he was alive!

The entire hand rested on the circle as the nuit tested it, willing the stagnant djed of the unloaded circle into motion. This was perhaps one of the most important parts. The nuit needed to feel out the chargers, he needed to figure out which side was the Fount and which held the Filters. The circle, much like any living thing, is comprised of two parts which form a whole, positive and negative. There are traits which add to a person, and then there are traits which subtract, hiding things from view. Everyone and everything could be broken down to an Alchemical equation; it was just a matter of figuring the person out.

Energy flowed freely around the circle, and by observing that flow, the subtle qualities of it, one could tell which side was the Fount and which was the Filter. To Ray they felt distinctly different. The Fount had a higher energy to it, while the Filter’s side always felt ‘heavier’. The nuit did not know if this was really the case or if it was a construct of his mind to help him out with Alchemy. Whatever the case may be it was this sort of innate sense which allowed him to tell the difference between the rings sides, and it has worked before. Why should it matter what it really is as long as it brings results? Though it is only natural to be curious… this was a puzzle better left unsolved, at least for the moment.

Letting the energy circle the nuit concentrated on feeling out the circle, trying to distinguish both sides, as it would be horrible to put the objects in the wrong places within the circle. Believe it or not, Ray, once upon a time did that, and then he vowed never to do that again. It was an embarrassing and costly mistake on the nuits part. The very memory of it made him frown.

Then Evalin entered. She seemed in a cheery mood, which was good. Distracted now by the apprentices talk, the nuit broke his connection with the circle and stood up fully, brushing off his robes, ”Just in time, my dear,” Rayage turned to her with a smile gesturing across the room, ”Do mind the papers, he said.

’Today’s lesson is quite important,” Rayage started, weaving his way through the room careful not to step on any of the papers. Making it to his desk, he opened a drawer and pulled out a hunk of lead, ”It is going to demonstrate the power of change, and the hope that it can bring you,” Ray smiled tuning back to Evalin, rolling the lead in his hands, ”Did you know there is a god of Change, Transformation, and Alchemy?”

”Within change anything is possible.” Rayage stated, ”With change there is hope for a brighter future. Change brings us this hope by showing that things are not always as they seem, and Fate is not so much in control as he thinks.” The ancient smiled, pushing the buttons which he knew would get Evalin to listen, ”but to make change, it takes power to get it into motion. However, once in motion change is a hard thing to really stop.”

”It is the presence of change which is responsible for me being alive today. I have not given up on my dreams, and Ill see that change helps you as well. Are you interested in learning the secrets of this world, my dear? It is going to be a fascination journey, I assure you.”
