The Diamond of Kalea is located on Kalea's extreme west coast and called as such because its completely made of a crystalline substance called Skyglass. Home of the Alvina of the Stars, cultural mecca of knowledge seekers, and rife with Ethaefal, this remote city shimmers with its own unique light.

Jenni wasn’t a fan of parties. Sadly, since the Masquerade ball was coming up, and was being hosted by the three towers… it was practically mandatory for her to attend. Altelo and Nosumo had insisted, and she could have sworn that Crook was on their side too. The cat had been meowing at her during the entire debate, sitting at the two men’s feet looking imperious. He’d also insisted on coming with her ‘shopping’, and was now leading the way through the streets, tail standing straight up like a flag. The weather was sunny… and luckily not raining, like it had been the day before. There had been a few sprinklings that morning, but that was it. With the kind of quality dress she was planning on getting, it would be terrible if it was ruined. She considered how much money she was going to spend on this… and groaned. She’d be re-using this for sure, on the next fancy occasion. Sure, she had a nice dress… but nothing this nice.

There were no full-blown dress shops she could think of at the moment, so the Twilight was wandering through the markets, trying to spot somewhere that looked… decent. Considering the volume of people who were probably going to be attending the party, numerous tailors had taken an artistic licence to go a little… crazy with things. As in she could spot several fantastic, though a little over the top, dresses. Silk and lace, frills and diamonds… you name it, it was here. However… the morpher was looking for something a little more subdued. Calmer and possibly a tiny bit darker. Nothing caught her eye in particular, considering she had something quite specific in mind. Then…

There. In the doorway of a shop, she spotted something that looked a little more her style. It was floor-length, the skirts a faint greyish blue color that was one of Jenni’s favorites. It was thin, and light, and layered, and the fabric was soft looking and shiny… probably silk. The top had a modest, flat, neckline, leading to small sleeves that didn’t cover the shoulders. As a strip across the top, there were ruffles and frills, to add some kind of volume to the dress as a whole. Overall… it was positively perfect. Not out of her comfort zone, and not too crazy either.

Instantly, the Twilight made her way into the shop, causing a young woman to glance up from some sketches. “Hello!” she said brightly, straightening to greet the new customer. “Hello” the morpher replied, ducking her head slightly. “I was looking at one of your dresses… the one in the window…” She barely had to trail off as the store keeper nodded in understanding. “The Masquerade, might I guess? You’re a little close to the deadline, don’t you think?” The woman winked and swished off to pluck the dress from where it had been hanging by the window. She held it before Jenni, lips pursed in thought, before smiling once again. “Good choice! You’ll look quite nice in this. Would you like to try it on? We have a room in the back…” The Twilight nodded in agreement, took the offered dress, and headed into a small room behind the counter. Crook took a seat by the door, allowing himself to be petted by the pretty seamstress

Once she was secure in the changing room, Jenni quickly stripped off her clothes and slipped into the dress. One of the walls in the tiny room was taken up by a mirror, so she stopped to get a good look at herself in it. She was normally up for shopping, though… only at the first store. By the second she was bored, and the third, exhausted. This had better work, or she was giving up and leaving. In her novice opinion, the color worked quite well with her own complexion… though she wasn’t one to say. Sometimes, she wished she’d had a mother figure in her life to learn this stuff… But she probably would have hated it anyways, considering. Taking a sigh, she gave an experimental spin… not for any particular reason, but simply because she’d seen other women trying on dresses doing the same thing. Nothing special seemed to happen, causing the Twilight to frown irritably, but she simply relaxed, and kept looking.

Yes… yes. This would work. It surely wasn’t as fancy as any of the other dresses that would turn up at the Masquerade, but she didn’t care about that. Simple and nice. And comfortable, actually. The silk cloth was soft and smooth, worthy of its high price. Oh, and it would be high… oh so high… She almost groaned at the thought. Still, it would be worth it… hopefully. She wanted to make Altelo and Nosumo pay for this, considering participating had been their idea. But she’d agreed… and it was her money, her dress.

Not even bothering to show it to the shopkeeper, she stepped gingerly out of the bluish-grey cloth and back into her usual apparel, feeling a lot more comfortable. She opened the door with the dress in arm, keeping it lifted high enough so Crook didn’t cover it in fur. “Did you like it?” the shopkeeper woman asked, obviously curious. “Yes… how much will this cost me?” She set it on the front desk for convenience as the woman slipped behind to do more… clerk-like things. After a few moments of shuffling and muttering, a price was provided.

“Thirty Kina” was the final conclusion, causing the morpher to wince. Still, she pulled the coin out of her pocket and passed it over the counter, bundling the dress delicately in her arms. This had better be worth the money, or she’d be annoyed in the least. She wondered vaguely what would happen, exactly, in the Masquerade… would they have real masks? There would be food… maybe she could simply loiter around there and find the best treats… that would certainly pass the time. The Towers were certainly going to hold a magnificent ball, but couldn’t said money be spent better on the re-building process? It was already decided, however, and she had little say in the matter.

Pricing :
Dress = 8sm, Silk = x25
8 x 25 = 200, or 20gm
Dyed = x1.5
20 x 1.5 = 30gm
