"W-well... a dinner would be nice..." Rachel muttered, but then hitched a breath as she realized the implications of her words a tad bit too late, "A-ah, I... I mean, a dinner is... good b-because w-well, you h-helped me a lot... I mean, you d-did ask me to do i-it, I mean, uh... you are a Knight s-so... uh..." Well, she was making a fool of herself, what she wanted to really explain was that since he was a Knight, Rachel felt like his request should be followed like an order, but scratch that, she couldn't even speak straight. Truth to be told, Rachel was an easily-panicked and worry-art person, it was by Priskil's blessing that she managed to keep a strong firm outlook most of the time, but well... her encounter with Markus was no ordinary event and with lots of factors combined, even Priskil's light couldn't save her this time.

"S-so... uh..." It looked like he took her words differently, she meant for him to escort her to the Soothing Waters, not him bathing with her, but it was too late... Rachel simply let his hand held her right side of waist, it was very much appreciated, her bruises was worst that she had thought, she could walk on her own... if not for the longsword and backpack weighing her down, putting more strain to her aching feet, so out of necessity, she let him keep his hand there, not that she actually minded, Rachel was just too ignorant to romantic relationships, being a rather workaholic instructor aiming to be a Knight someday, a special person - other than Priskil and her brother - wasn't considered yet, especially the notion of a lover. Though... it might change soon, depending on things went.

"Well, why wouldn't I?" The blond gave a chuckle, her gnosis prickled to ease down her worries, finally, thank Priskil, "My brother is a tough man, but not me though... if I am, I won't be leaning on you like this just after two rounds of spar, Ser." Rachel jested as they arrived in Syliras, passed the main gates, the Knights guards didn't give them a second glance after sensing the mark of Sylir on Markus for obvious reasons. "I... I'm... honored..." Rachel didn't know what to say, she was not a young woman, not really... most women were married at their teens, it was the norm in such an age and civilization where survival of the human race was on a thin balance. For him to praise her like that, it fluttered a switch in her heart.

Finally, they arrived at the Soothing Waters and Rachel worked to separate herself from him, "Well, we are here, thank you, Ser Markus... I shall be going no- Aaaah!" Not two steps on her own, Rachel's wounds got to her as she lost her balance then fell backwards, into Markus' embrace again, looks like she wouldn't be going anywhere without his help now, "W-well... this is embarrassing, perhaps... I do need your help until I'm properly healed after all... I am very sorry, Ser."

The knight gave the knights stationed by the gates a nod of respect when they spotted him. Both sides were well aware of the other's status as knights. One of them moved to assist but Markus waved him away with a simple motion. Hardly Ekeldi, only the universal sign of 'I got this under control.' Having more knights crowd around them trying to help her might make the woman uncomfortable and from what he had noticed from their trip back to the city was that she didn't seem to be in too much pain when only he helped her. The others would be in the way. That was the rationale at least. The other more personal reason was that he didn't want to lose this private moment with the instructor. The little cute stutter when she was embarrassed. He mistakenly thought it was being called pretty that had gotten to her. She might deny it, but she was a tough one. That many blunt strikes with his sword and she had withstood it for quite some time.

"Well. I was perhaps a bit too rough on you during our spar. It is just rare that I meet such talent."

His focus was upon the soothing waters. Almost there. Only a chime more and she would be given to the care of the healers and the attractive member of the Messer family would be out of his grasp. He had on purpose not mentioned the dinner aspect again, thinking that would be a suitable way to make his goodbyes. The woman was quick to separate herself from him. The soft frown on his lips at her eagerness was quickly subdued and replaced with worry when the woman let out a scream. Markus looked to her and managed to spread his arms and wrap them around the woman and saving her from falling. His arms wrapped around the woman. Her gear cushioning her impact with his unforgiving hard leather armour. The embrace would be tight at first. Making sure she did not fall to the ground. The embrace would loosen a little, but not much, when she proven she had regained her balance.

"Miss me so soon?" He teased with a whisper when she had made her apologies that he ignored. It was his fault she was in the current state and the apologies only reminded him of that fact. Reminded him that he needed to learn more restraint. "But that settles it, Rachel. I won't leave your side until I know you have been healed." He simply stated as he helped her back on both feet. Muscular arms easily lifting the much lighter girl. "Do you want me to carry you the rest of the way? The stairs leading to the soothing waters will be excruciating, trust me, I've tried those steps before." Markus paused as a warm but worried smile came over his lips. Had he not assisted her back to the city, she would probably have toppled over out there. It was fortunate that he had escorted her back. If she would let him carry her, he would put an arm under the knees and one at her shoulder blades and carry her down until they reached the counter. If she wouldn't the only difference was him trying his best to ease her pain as they descended into the soothing waters. If she denied his simple offer, it would not be with a light heart he would accept it, for she had almost toppled over and every moment mattered then, something serious might be wrong.

When Ivis Balak asked his usual question to the pair.

"Knight Markus Andres, I need medical attention for this woman." The tone, quickly turning authoritative. He hoped his knightly discount on healing services would extend to people he had injured. If not, he would simply pay the required gold for her medical attention. Could always return to the subject of a bath once he knew she would be okay. Until then, his only attention was getting her back in shape.

"..." As she fell, Rachel could feel his arms wrapping around her smaller form, the Knight was a giant! Rachel had never felt so short before, she was usually as tall or taller than the average women, she just hoped the hilt of her longsword didn't smack his face or something because that would get her into a heap of trouble for assaulting a Knight. The tight embrace brought flaring thoughts to Rachel, her face went almost as red as a tomato as she looked away to the side, muttering another apology, she didn't want to seen so weak, especially by a member of the Knighthood, but she had no choice.

"T...thank you..." When he accepted, Rachel's respect for him only grew and the seeds of affection started to plant itself more firmly into her mind and heart, he truly was an honorable man, a Knight in Shining Armor. Rachel shakily stood herself back on her feet, but it didn't last long before she buckled again, her studded leather armor, pack, and sword weighing her down, looks like her wounds were worse than she thought... the fact that she used flux earlier in their spar certainly didn't help her case.

The blond woman widened her eyes when he spoke about stairs, of course! The soothing water's dreaded stair case, it wasn't an issue if she was healthy but... she would barely took three steps before falling like an idiot, however... the notion of him carrying her, that would the final nail on the coffin, the coffin that would bury her pride and dignity as a sword warrior with it, no, that must not happen, "T-thank you, but I think I can wa- Aaagh!" She groaned when Rachel forced another step, the adrenaline had all but left her body and jolts of agony began stabbing her body.

The Knight took it as a 'yes' though as he put one arm under her knees and another at her shoulder blades, "..." The instructor just went silent, showing a rare bashful side of her, she usually didn't have time for such affections due to living on her own and the nature of her job, Kreig being her brother and Jon being too young for her certainly didn't give much chances. This submissive position was unbecoming of her, but for some odd reason... she didn't really repulse it, she felt safe in his embrance and just could lay her head on his chest then slept throughout the walk.

When they had reached the counter, Rachel simply nodded at Ivis, the man nodded at the Knight's words, Ivis assumed Rachel was one of the Knighthood... since she looked the part with the armor and weapons, so he didn't bother to ask for her identity as a citizen, the man simply politely bowed, "Please come this way, madame." Rachel nodded then begged Markus to put her down, after he had done so, the instructor would stammer, "I... I can take it here from my own... I... uh... I think, I... I will... s-see you later i-in the public pool... i-if... if you'd like... and not busy... I mean... I don't want to dis-... I-"

"Ahem." Ivis cleared his throat, this woman's stutter would take all day if he didn't intervene.

"I... should go..." With her face blaring red, Rachel limped to one of the healing rooms, escorted by Ivis. It was going to be a looong night of getting Markus off her mind.

OOCAlright! Posting it for grading! :D The shenanigans shall continue in another thread. |:)

P.S: Just assume that Rachel went to the public pool after this and if you'd wish, you can take it as if Markus followed her.
