Season of Winter, Day 39, 513 AV

What better way to knock off a the winter chill than to chase it away with warm booze?

That was the very thought that kept Amora in a regular schedule of coming to Pig’s Foot twice a day nearly every day that season. The whole atmosphere of the tavern seemed like home to her, even with all of the drunk fools who stumbled around and cursed loudly. She had started to see all of the nonsense as a sort of entertainment she could enjoy as she drank; and the more she drank, the better the entertainment seemed.

Two old drunken men had been verbally fighting for several chimes, neither of them actually brave or coordinated enough to actually throw a punch at the other. They both went on about who was the bigger “lady’s man.” They claimed that they had only to pay the prostitutes their minimum requirement for the whole deal, but was that really anything to brag about?

Amora just sat back in her stool, her back propped against the bar as she swallowed her ale and watched the fighting. A small voice in her head kept begging her to make them get physical, but she ignored it for the time-being. Maybe they’d start throwing punches on their own terms.

Petch…” The thief had drank every last drop of her third mug of ale, and only had enough coins for one more. “Looks like I’m goin’ fishing.” She smiled at her thoughts and payed Merv for another mug; finishing that one too was sure to boost her confidence.

Walking into the Pig's Foot, Buras immediately starts to look for a place to sit. Seeing a spot open by a girl with a drink in her hand, Buras walks over, sits down, takes off his hat, and tries to get comfortable. I remember trading my first favor here, and it was because I was comfortable to. Never could find that seat again.

Looking over at the girl, he couldn't help but get the feeling that he has seen her before. Deciding to go with his gut he asks "Excuse me, but have I seen you before?" Frowning at the memory that stayed just out of reach, Buras starts to also work out a way to get a favor from her. Because, after all, business is business.

A favor can be worth it's weight in gold. Or, it could kill you.

Amora took slow and steady gulps from the mug of ale she had just purchased. Having the bit of alcohol to boost her confidence was a good thing, but having too much would surely cloud her judgement and make her even clumsier than she normally is. The last thing the thief needed was to be caught while intoxicated- if she were being killed she probably wouldn't even notice!

Her happy-go-lucky mood was extinguished when a man decided to take his place at the bar beside her. Not many people would walk into a tavern and sit beside a stranger.

"Who does he this he is?!" Amora was just about to chug the rest of her drink and run out of there when she was stopped by the man's sudden urge for conversation.

"Excuse me, but have I seen you before?" The voice, tone, and politeness was vaguely familiar to her. In curiosity she stopped the mug mid-way to her mouth and looked over at the stranger.

"The naked man.." Two nights ago she had seen him for a brief moment after leaving Tall Johnny's Casino. He scared her to death with his whole sifting-form thing in the middle of the night to stop her form going home.

It wasn't a regular occurrence for her to meet someone with such a polite attitude towards people he or she didn't know, so it made her a bit suspicious.

"I think you got me confused with someone else." The thief decided it'd be best not to jog his memory and put an end to any conversation he was about to start. "Maybe he won't remember." Instead of running out of the building like she wanted to, she sat still in order to not rise his curiosity.

After a small pause, the girl says "I think you got me confused with someone else." That voice, now I know I met her somewhere. "No, I'm pretty sure I met you before. Where was it again? Long Pete's or something like that. I never did get your name, and if I remember rightly, I gave you mine."

Moving his hat away from the girl so she wouldn't spill anything on it, Buras tries to strike a deal. "How 'bout we make a trade, you tell me your name, and I will give you something."

Smiling a little, Buras tries to make it look encouraging. But what he is actually smiling about making a deal and getting another costumer. Probably going to want whatever is in my coin purse. Well, good thing I don't carry anymore than what will buy me a drink or two here.

Profit for Profit (Buras)

Amora almost laughed when the man got the name of the place wrong. It wasn't like there were many big casinos like that in Sunberth, after all. Did he really think she'd just give up her name to him like that?

"You ain't got anything I want." All the thief wanted was some more coin, and this man didn't seem to have much on him at all. Maybe later she'd attempt to plunge his pockets, but she'd honestly rather not catch his attention again after this dreadful conversation ends.

Amora took another drink of her ale and looked around the tavern. "Hmm..." A malicious grin tugged at her lips and she looked back at the stranger, "Say, I think we can work something out. You wanna know my name right?" The girl cocked her head to the side and looked at the Kelvic. If she could get him to do her work for her, he'd be worthy of a name.

Buras didn't like the grin the girl gave him. "Ya, I would like to know your name." But how far am I willing to go to figure it out? "Name your price, and I'll see what I can do." Buras says reaching for some coins. Judging by the drink still in her hand and how fast she was downing it, she probably wanted another one.

Hope she is worth the coin and the trouble I'm probably going to have to go through. Buras says laying a pouch that clinked as if there was a lot of money in it. But, as he thought earlier, it only had a few handful of coppers, which wouldn't buy a thing, if you didn't buy it in a back alley that is.

"So, how much do you want." Let her think I have money to throw around.

I’m gonna use him for a greater good, it’ll be worth wasting my time over.” Amora smiled to herself as she thought of the coin she could con him into getting for her. The thief looked at the table where the boy through his change purse down. Though she did want that coin, she also wanted much more.

Nah I don’t want your money. You have to do something for me.” Amora downed the rest of the ale that was in her mug, then spun around in her stool to face the bar. “First, you gotta buy me another mug’a ale.” Smiling at him she continued, “Then I want you to take something from someone. Well, that is unless you don’t have the balls.

The thief laughed and watched for Buras’s reaction. If he really did want to know her name, and maybe more if he got lucky, he would have to do as she told him.

“Nah I don’t want your money. You have to do something for me." Buras heard the girl say. I thought we already went over that she wanted something from me. Oh well. “First, you gotta buy me another mug’a ale. Then I want you to take something from someone. Well, that is unless you don’t have the balls.”

Buying a mug, Buras expected, but stealing? Not at all. But who was she, saying he didn't have the balls to take something from a complete stranger? He was born and raised in Sunberth, at least he is pretty sure he was born here, you need balls to do that.

"All right, I favor will be owed when I get back. Merv, a mug of ale here. With that, Buras got up and started to look around for someone drunk enough to steal from and fight, if it happens, easily. After a short search, Buras finds a likely target. It was a thin man with almost no hair, and was hunched so far over his mug his nose was almost in it.Walking behind the man, Buras looks for any tell tale bulge of a pocket. Seeing one in the man's right pocket, Buras makes his move.

"You all right there? It seems like you had a bit much to drink. Here, I'll help you to the door. Buras was talking fast, riding over any protests the man might have made. Getting on the man's right side, Buras slips his left hand into the man's pocket. Easy does it now. He may still be able to think a little. As he thought that, he felt something. Ah, there you are.

Buras was almost to the door. Better make this quick. Opening the door with his free hand, he pushes the man through with his left, and takes the pouch out. Quickly closing the door, Buras turns around, and sits next to the mysterious girl once more. "Here is your something from someone else, and here is your ale. Buras says as he slides the two items over to her and paid Merv. "Now, you owe me a favor. Your name.

OOCWhen I saw this last post of yours I was like "Wow, I'm impressed." I love to see you're improving. :D Let's keep it up!

The young thief knew he'd do as she told him to, who can resist a tipsy girl asking for a favor? Before she could even tell him who she wanted to steal from, the boy threw down some copper mizas for Merv's service and darted off to take advantage of some wasted fool.

"Wow, gotta love the tenacity." Amora watched as he pretended to be giving the man his honest service and then push the drunken man out the door with a grasp on his change purse.

"Ya got him like a rat in a trap, Miss Jade." Merv watched the action as well after over-hearing their little bargain.

With a soft laugh and her eyes still watching the Kelvic she responded, "Yeah, some of 'em are just too easy to fool."

The boy returned and gave Amora the ale she asked for, along with the change purse he'd just taken. "Not too bad." The girl took the mug in one hand and the purse in the other. Sure, it looked pretty full but the bag itself wasn't very large. She took a gulp of the ale and tossed the purse into the air and caught it to hear the miza clink together.

"You did it fairly quickly and without causing too much trouble, so I'm impressed. But I never told you who I wanted you to take from." Amora laughed before taking another drink. "I do admire your enthusiasm though, so... Jade. My name is Jade."

"Jade." Buras says, rolling the word around in his mouth. He could say it as a crow. He didn't need any lips to say it. Blinking when he realized what his train of thought was, he asked him self, Why am I thinking about that? Am I bonding with this complete stranger? No, not yet. I will not bond with anyone until I have had my fill of adventure.

"Well, in case you don't remember, my name is Buras. And I would prefer if you didn't tell everyone you know what I was." For him, it was wise to not tell everyone that he was Kelvic. They might think he can do magic, which may be a little bit true.

"I have a feeling that that man will come back, the one that I stole from. And he may bring friends. I might not be able to take all of them. I would be glad if you would help me, just in case."

But who knows, I might save her life and I can be taught for free. Buras knew that the lesson probably would cost him.
