Shane needs a Friend... Maybe even more than a Friend.

After a recent thread with a female character it seems to me that what Shane needs as a character and what I need for him to progress, is a relationship. This can be a girlfriend, a boyfriend (because frankly I get a bit of a vague air about which way exactly Shane swings) or even just a friend. He just needs someone who is in Syliras for the forseeable future or at least for a good few seasons. He needs someone around his age and, if at all possible, around the same level of status as him. Squires are welcome but Knights he is acutely afraid of. Wizards are welcome but if you're pretty powerful the relationship will either turn into a mentor relationship or Shane is going to try and manipulate you into somehow sharing some aspect of your success.

Yes, the best type of character for Shane to have any sort of relationship with is someone who there is frankly nothing to take from. Someone who has skills Shane does not want and around the same level of skills in the ones he does want or lower. Don't let Shane's CS fool you into thinking him an evil character. He's just a socially awkward kid with BIG dreams who uses a code of rules to make himself seem entirely normal.

This isn't just a selfish arrangement I mean this could be good for the other character for much of the same reasons. The world of Miz is a harsh one and having a friend or significant other is a great way to defeat the odds. If it doesn't work out between our characters that too could become a great plot device.

So if you are interested what I suggest we do is have a random meet and greet friend to see how are charecters interact with each other. If they don't work well together then we can part amicably as players. I wouldn't mind doing a couple of these with different people to see who fits best with Shane. Maybe even gwet him a few friends and a significant other if things go extremely well... So is anybody interested?

Final Disclaimer: Please make sure you are around to stay if you want to do this with me. There is nothing worse than a character leaving without notice after forming a relationship with my PC. That just leaves a big ole mess to clean up.

Howdy, there Shane! Figured I'd drop a line here and say I'd be interested in threading with you, maybe get some kind of dynamic with you of friendship. Joris is a Knight, a Mage Knight as well so that's really two things you weren't after and probably two detractors but hey such are the way of things. Also I'd call Joris... flexible as far as relationships go really, he did grow up with whores after all.
