Silver Lake
After years, Mura felt more and more like home to Estrellir. She’d gotten acquainted with her neighbors and various sisters due to her interest for different aspects of the local culture. Although her focus shifted from herbalism to animals to cuisine to faith as time passed, she’d still established some sort of routine throughout the seasons.
That day in late summer was no exception. Like many sisters, Estrellir rose with Syna, ate fruit, herbs and a mug of water for breakfast before putting on a white dress and filling her backpack with a few things that’d keep her company during the day.
Exiting her house, property of the Konrath family through generations, she greeted her neighbor who was working in a beautiful garden. With no particular aim in mind, she walked the paths and streets for a while and slowly drifted east in the process. Many days she’d simply walk where her feet carried her until a daily aim or task manifested out of thin air and her idle thoughts. She could try and work on whatever took her fancy for such was the purpose of her stay on Konti Isle. Thinking about nothing in particular, Estrellir crossed another bridge, turned left before reaching the temple and left the city center.
Before long, she had reached the shore of Silver Lake and enjoyed the view across the vast expanse of water, a solitary figure at the edge of a still mirror. Yawning and stretching a little, Estrellir wondered how water could take on so many different forms. Kenash had the swamp, wild, unpredictable and filled with dangerous species, and Mura had Silver Lake, its peaceful and calm opposite. Both were beautiful in their own way.
For the time being, however, she planned to enjoy the place she was in and get everything she could out of it. As she followed the shore, she happened upon a spot like a natural beach, sandy and flat enough to tread easily. There she left her backpack in sun and waded into the cool water. As always, vision water felt slightly different, although she couldn’t say how. Before losing the ground under webbed toes, she kicked her feet and swam out into the lake.
