Talking With Ty

35th of Spring, 514 A.V.
Suvan Sea

Endless water everywhere. Pitch black darkness. Roaring. Laughing. Fear. The thrum of a beating heart, pounding faster and faster. "I can't breathe!" The movement of the waves sent Shijara's fingertips into a tingling buzz that gave her sensory overload. The winds were strong that day, and while the casinor wasn't in any real danger of tipping over, to Shijara the terror was real. In no way was she ready to be back on the sea and it grew even more obvious the more the Chaktawe paced in the cabin of small ship.

She had done nothing but step on the deck and make a beeline for the enclosed space. While she was travelling with Ty this evening, she needed to hide to gather her nerves. The Svefra duo would no doubt be doing their routine casting off ritual. Throw banter back and forth, check ropes, grab a bottle of rum. Shi had been putting on fake smiles and feigned confidence since she had stepped on a moving boat days ago. She had expected it to get better, but so far she had no such luck. There was always an perpetual nervousness in the back of her mind when it came to Laviku's domain.

So much she didn't know. Just a simple storm and if she fell overboard, she would be lost. Dragged under never to be seen again. Deeper and farther under the waters would she travel, never to gaze at the sky again. She would be trapped. Food for whatever lay under the tumbling waves.

And, although the cold grip of fear crushed her stomach each time she lost sight of land, there were a few moments of peace. Very rarely, could she relax. Only at dawn, when the sun was rising over the waters was Shijara calmed. But it wasn't dawn, and the sunrise wasn't visible. She was trapped. "Just like before. Just like everyday..." The Tawna was muttered and soon the brunette was peaking out of the cabin door, searching for the captain. While Kel was mean, sometimes seeing someone who knew what they were doing helped.

Shijara hoped to find that same comfort in just watching Ty. She had little to distract herself with. There wasn't much scenery to draw, and she had groomed herself spotless. Her poor hair needed to be left alone. She kept close to the center of the boat, her eyes scanning her surroundings.

She cleared her throat and took a deep breath, "Tydus. Are we leaving soon?" Shijara readjusted her headband. Please say no. You're going to say yes, aren't you?

Talking With Ty

The smell of the tides was strong in the Svefra's nostrils as Syna hung over the Svefra's right shoulder. She was beginning to retreat, Leth visible over the horizin, the lovers' eternal chase evident in their sharing the sky, Tydus paying attention to absolutely none of it as he felt the casinor rock beneath him, battered against the waves as he held the steering wheel steady. He swerved the wheel to the right, the boom shifting on the deck as Shijara presumably cowered in the quarters, the Svefra focusing upon the effort at hand as the ship made a sharp turn, heading eastward towards Syna's retreat and the visible shoreline of some uncivilized sandbed. The place was barren save for the tapestry of trees in the distance, a perfect cover for whatever creatures lurked within, and, hopefully, the Tempest scion needed not worry about it at the shoreline.

Rather, he worried instead about the ship itself, guiding it forward, the bow of the ship slicing through the sea as the casinor made its way to land, Tydus checking the lines at the wheel to ensure that they were properly connected and taught, noting a loose line at the sail that would become a headache later if they decided to continue. Chimes passed in the casinor's ascent towards land, wind whipping at the sails from the opposite direction, making travel slower and compelling Tydus to raise the sails, the Svefra pulling on the reel and instead allowing the waves to bring the boat to the shore. Thirteen chimes flowed with the ocean's wake, but Tydus' casinor made it to the approximate shoreline, thirty feet away from the actual shore. Tydus looked down at the sea, approximating the depth to be within twenty feet.

An easy enough clean up in the morning. I'd go in further but it be a bitch to come out from too far in. We'll drop here.

Tydus wasn't paying attention to the other casinor that surely followed, deciding to leave Kel alone for the night as he heaved the anchor to the edge of the gunwale, pushing the hunk of metal off of the ship before allowing himself to relax. Of course, the relaxation lasted only a chime before Tydus dismantled the sail, lowering it from its position on the mast, loosening the varied knots keeping it tied on before he set the sail, lying it down on the deck.

~~~~~o~~~~~~o~~~~~o~~~~~~
Approximately a bell passed in silence as Tydus drank from a mug of ale, pouring the contents down his throat, though in truth he craved some rum, the flask, filled before he left Kenash, held beneath the sash tied to his waste, but he did not want to waste the precious elixir on a simple, solitary delve into nothingness. No, he waited.
The Tempest heard the woman speak as he looked about, not realizing that she had emerged from the quarters, but a smile materialized upon his lips as he noted her expression.
By Laviku's scraggly beard, she's terrified. You can't tell by her eyes, but her lips say it all. She's hating this. Why bother sailing if yeh don't even like the water?
Tydus chuckled once before he passed the woman the mug he was drinking from, clasping her shoulder before he took three strides over and back to the barrel of ale. The bottle of wine was hidden behind it, Tydus producing the sanguine liquid before he raised the bottle up towards Shi in toast,
"Headin out, lass? Not tonigh', no. Seas ar' too rough tonight to sail in the darkness. We'll tuck here for the eve' then head out in the mornin. Syna's the guide he wan' follow on Laviku's waters, not Leth. We enjoy his face in the night and tell stories with drink in hand."
He offered her yet another smile before he rested against the mast, a long, generous sip of wine poured down his throat, the alcohol vibrating within his throat with a tart, lively flavour. The Tempest set down the bottle on the gunwale as he made his way towards it, placing it within arm's reach of himself as he grasped at the gunwale with his knees, allowing his upper body to fall over the side as he flexed his core, the muscles of his abdomen visibly stiffening with the motion as his upper body dipped over the side,
"Stand on the other si' for a chime, yeah? Don' wanna upset the balance of the boat."
He called out the command simply, imploring for her to listen before he reached into the sea with his hands. The ocean's water caressed his fingertips as they slid into Laviku's domain, Tydus closing his eyes as he allowed his mind to synchronize with the ocean's water. Unable to see, but able to feel, his senses stretched over the sea, the layout of the shallow water making itself known to him.
He reached out for two fish, nothing more or less, bringing them to his hands and catching them in his palms. He implored for them to remain still, raising both himself and the fish out of the water, his abdomen screaming with the strain of effort as he pushed his body to perform what he required of it. A short exhale, filled with the motion's strain escaped him as he tossed the fish onto the deck, the wine bottle falling to the floor with a thud, on the verge of tipping and spilling liquid, though it nestled into a coil of rope, tipping to an insufficient degree to pour any of its contents onto the deck.
"Yeh know how ta make a fire withou' burning the ship, lass? We could try'na cook ar' food or eat it raw, yer choice. Either way, cheers. Ye made it through yer third day at sea."
The mug of ale and the feeling of Ty's hand on her shoulder did little in terms of taking her mind away from the setting. Even he had said himself. The waters were rough. When the sea got angry, did the creatures inside it get mad as well? Ty produced the wine from behind the ale and Shi perked up only slightly. I guess captain gets the better drink. She smiled weakly in return for his, the mirth not quite there in her expression.
When the order rolled from Ty's lips, Shi blinked, processing the request. She didn't waste time, not sure what exactly would happen if they 'upset the balance'. It was one thing she did not want to find out and she moved quickly to where he directed. She had a few ideas, but none that ended positively.
Ty began doing something, leaning over to reach into the water. Shijara forced herself to remain still, tempted to grab Tydus when she thought he might fall in. While she knew he was a fine swimmer, he had saved her after all, the instinct was still there.
"Dinner?" Shijara watched the two fish on he deck, not excited at the thought of eating them raw. It was her third day, and although Shi was no cook, she was a quick study. All she had do was heat them up, right? Shijara's dark eyes lowered, watching the motionless fish, eying them carefully. Like any animal she would have to clean and gut it... The real problem would be finding a way to cook them and not burn down the boat. That would have been terrible.
Twirling a strand of hair with her finger as she contemplated the idea, Shijara finally looked up at the Svefra, taking a deep drink of ale, "I think I do." While Shijara commonly introduced her patron as the god of birds, he was also the god of ingenuity, a fact that Shijara never forgot about. Perhaps this would help gain her some favor with her deity.
Shijara quickly spun on her heel, vanishing in the cabin. She inhaled deeply, looking around for things to use. Her eyes scanned the supplies, and her small hands snatched up a bucket, two rags, and some rope. This was a distraction. She wouldn't have to worry about the waters. She could do this. Looping her arm through the rope so that it rested on her shoulder, she continued foraging. Dagger, sketchbook, some old pamphlets from Riverfall... Shijara threw everything in the bucket, finishing off the ale she nearly forgot she had been holding. A shudder of distaste ran through her. Something about the hops just didn't settle with her taste buds, but wasting it would be foolish.
When Shijara emerged, she found a nice clear place on deck across from Ty to settle down, lowering to her knees and beginning to work. The fish still laid nearby, but Shi ignored them for now. First she took the rope and bucket, emptying its contents and making sure that it was usable. When she was satisfied, she took the rope and began trying a knot around the handle. A brief test of durability and she nodded to herself.
Now for the trickiest part. Clutching the bucket closer as she rose, her head turned towards the only separation she had from the water. The Chaktawe took a tentative step forward, and then another. As in a rush to get it over with, she picked up her pace, grabbing one edge of the rope in one hand, and chucking the metal pail with the other. It made a soft swoosh as it flew through the air, landing in the water with a plop. Shijara quickly began to pull it back. "If I wasn't so hungry, I wouldn't be trying this hard."
It was true, but it wasn't the water she was scared of. It was the falling in and what laid in it. It was the helplessness. As long as Tydus didn't get the idea to push her in, she'd be okay. And while she only knew the Svefra for a short period of time, she believed he'd keep her around just awhile longer. At least until dinner.Soon the filled contained was pulled up and she carefully grabbed it, her body tense from being so close to the edge. It was a somewhat irrational fear, but it lingered.
Going to where she had tied the rope, her footsteps were like a dancer's, as to not overly spill the liquid and to counteract the movement of the boat. When she made it to the spot and sat down, that was when the fun began, "Do you often eat your food raw?" The question was asked, not looking up. She lifted a rag and dipped it into the sea water, ringing it out and neatly folding it into a square. She laid it beside her, going to retrieve the two fishes and so the slaughter began. Delicately, Shijara lifted the animals, sitting them in front of her. Lifting her dagger, she glanced up at Tydus, as if to make sure it was okay, and set to work. Taking a deep breath, she pressed the edge of the blade into the fish flesh, measuring the cut before lifting the blade and bringing it swiftly down. Blood coated the blood and soon her fingers and Shijara went to move the fish head to the side, "Do you have any more wine, or am I only allowed ale? I have a taste for sweeter things."
Shijara attempted her first smile of the evening.
Talking With Ty
Tydus was bored. So terribly, terribly bored as Shijara set about the task of doing whatever the bloody petch she was setting up for herself. Tydus, one who had never learned the art of cooking food or starting fires, leaving that tedious work to the others who dedicated their lives to manual labour. The Tempest scion, despite harbouring the callouses upon his hands showing the life of a sailor, his honed skills and life's work were dedicated to a nobler cause.
Social awareness.
He found that this, more than anything else, was the way to driving one's presence into the lives of others. Knowing the ground work of a person's mind, knowing that they harboured armour that encased a person's soul, hiding their true selves from one another. The human heart was weak, it craved an understanding that it refused to give, an undeniable and destructive hypocrisy that drove a person into the inevitable rank of insanity. This was what he had learned from Aedre. A once strong-willed woman lost to everything, surrendered to the pull of Lhex's cruel flow, forsaken by Laviku and seen unworthy of his curse. She was a weakling, crushed by her time and made prime for Tydus to manipulate.
Manipulation was never easy, but always was it worth the effort. Even when it failed, such as with the old man in the gambling hut, almost an age ago, it taught something. The ebb and flow of the mind was controllable to Tydus to an extent, just as the creatures of the ocean. Neither were absolute or by any means complete, but the advantages that Tydus Tempest felt that he held, and was able to nurture were by far too great for him to be seen as a simple Svefra. Tydus began to see himself as an artist of the mind, a slow, sure development, and it was one that he encouraged.
But, not now.
Before the Tempest became too enshrouded in his own thoughts and consumed to all ends of oblivion with his own self-gratifying philosophy, he decided to change the pace. He noted that Shijara's efforts were beginning to produce some sort of strange result, and in truth, he had no idea what she was aiming to do, but decided to entertain himself while she set about her duties. The Svefra moved towards the rucksack set within his quarters, finding the one that contained his newly acquired crossbow and the bolts that Aedre had given him, a chuckle marking his features as he removed his shirt, which was bunched up at the shoulder and rolled into a neat shape, stowing the cutlass, now Aedre's as well rather than Tatianna's, before making his way outside.
Tydus took a total of four crossbow bolts, setting two in each hand before making his way onto the deck proper. The bolts were thick, approximately an eighth of an inch thick, and more than his fist's length across. It was perfect for what he planned to do to amuse himself. The Tempest carefully walked around the Chaktawe and made his way to the mast, which was fitted with rope. One hand gripped the rope that was no longer suspending the sail, the other gripping a bolt and shoving it into the mast with force. It stuck in, and the Tempest ensured that it stayed in before gripping upon the rope with both hands and raising one foot up. His foot clung to the surface of the mast, his body pulling upwards with his arm, the other foot pressing to the surface as Tydus began to climb.
The Tempest reached out to the bolt he had placed, pushing down on it with his arm to allow him to climb with greater ease, his legs keeping with pace as he scaled the length of the mast. He was approximately ten feet up, both legs pressed to the wall, his left arm tied to and gripping the rope that ensured he didn't fall. His right made to another bolt, puncturing it into the wall as he continued the process all over again.
Fifteen feet and approximately three quarters of the way up the mast, Tydus decided that enough was enough. Both bolts remained beneath him in a diagonal line, approximately five feet apart.
For future reference... I'll try to make it so that one day I don't need the rope...
Two bolts were used this time, Tydus puncturing the mast with both of them, placing the bolts approximately shoulder-width apart. He gripped at one with his right hand before slowly bringing his left arm out of the rope bind. His body ached with the exertion he was pulling from his body, his biceps, abdomen and legs screaming for release before he gripped at the other bolt, releasing the bolt entirely.
Tydus was not in a condition to answer when Shijara asked her question. He merely grunted out a 'no' before continuing in his effort.
Severe strain immediately came to his legs, the Tempest nearly losing his grip entirely, but he allowed for one last exertion, pressing his legs to his knees and pushing off from the mast, the length of the Tempest's body extended from the mast as he fell into the sea. As he entered, his arms converging over his head, fingers laced together to form a streamline, he expelled air from his nostrils, water flooding his mouth as he submerged.
The culmination of his efforts had left him to both climb and dive, turning the mast into a springboard from which to leap into the water and with it, he was satisfied. The Svefra felt the ocean's sense envelop him in the shallow water, only twenty feet. There were few to no fish in water of this depth, the occasional and very sparse luminous bulb of light marking his path, but he ignored it, a laugh bubbling from his lips as he re-surfaced, treading water for several moments as he called out to Shi,
"Are ye done with teh fish yet?"
Talking With Ty
The salty scent of fish and the heavy musk of fresh blood started to waft into the air. Shijara had chopped the heads from both creatures and was about to cut open the bellies of the animals when the feeling of scales rubbed against her fingertips. Can we eat those? How do you remove them? Shijara was about to ask Ty, but when she looked up, she noticed him doing something else, distracted by perfecting his body (or something like that). Shijara sighed, attempting to pluck the scales. When that didn't work, she grabbed her dagger impatiently and dipped it into the water to rid itself of excess blood and started to scrap the fish with the side of the blade. She had mixed results. If she dug too deeply the skin would get punctured, and so she reached for her eating knife instead, hoping the dull side would offer a better outcome.
Scales scattered on the ship, and Shi continued working, finding it easiest to work from the tail upwards. Working quickly, soon both fish were descaled and Shijara was slicing open the tender flesh of their bellies. Pulling out and slicing away the fishes innards, she examined the meat carefully, hoping to decide which part would be most edible.
The meat on the bone, correct? Or do Svefra eat the organs? Shijara made the decision, pushing the innards to the side, not sure what to do with them. She dipped the meat into bucket of water to wash it clean before cutting off the fins and tail. There would be bone in the meat, as she wasn't sure how to remove all the tiny fish bones without more time. She imagined Ty wanted to eat sometime tonight, and she needed to see if she could even start the fire.
Shijara grabbed the muddle pink water and walked back over the edge, dumping it out before running back to the food. The wind continued to blow and the Leth was taking over the sky. It was fire time. Drying out the bucket with the rag, Shi gathered the Riverfall pamphlets and gave them one last skim. She couldn't read, but they were memories. She threw those into the bucket, along with a few pages of her sketchbook that she wasn't fond of. Bad drawings that would be better disposed off. Some of the papers by her side, and some in the metal container, Shijara went to retrieve her flint and steel, working to create a spark.
She struggled to keep her hands low over the buckets opening and also create the force she needed to maintain a spark. One strike. Two strikes. Three.... A few sparks flickered, but died quickly, refusing to catch flame. Shijara continued her efforts, until finally some of the paper in the bucket began to smoke. Shijara leaned forward, blowing steadily, just like her uncle would on cool desert nights. Breathe life into it.
Smoke began to plume into the air, the tiny orange light growing brighter. Shijara continued to blow, until finally a flame was born. Out of the sheer excitement of success, Shijara found herself yelling to the Svefra, "Tydus! Come here!"
She quickly turned, grabbing the two pieces of fish and spearing them on her dagger, holding them over the newborn flame in hopes to cook them. She faintly heard Tydus' inquiry about if the food was ready.
"No." She was beaming, carefully checking to make sure the floor stayed cool and didn't catch fire. Some of the water had spilled earlier, leaving the floor damp. Shijara hoped that would prevent it from over heating. At any moment, she was prepared to throw her innovation overboard. "Hopefully soon. I have to keep the flame alive," She nodded towards the extra papers from the Akalak city inches away, "Well? What do you think? I didn't know if we cook the heart and things. Or if you wanted to use them...."
What Tydus would use the innards for besides a potential food source stumped Shi, but she found herself feeling positive, if a little nervous about her make shift campfire. This was good right? The pages inside the bucket crinkled and were slowly being devoured by the heat. The Chaktawe tried to prevent from rambling, keeping her attention focused as the reflection of fire danced in her eyes. It was then that she noticed Ty was no longer on the boat, and she heard the movement of water, "Wait, are you swimming?"
Orange flickered and danced within his sight as he looked onto the deck of his casinor, noting the presence of embers beginning their existence right upon the deck of his ship. Tydus, for a moment, panicked, before realizing the deck, as it was rather damp, was unlikely to be set ablaze by what didn't even look to be a proper flame yet. The Svefra of the Tempest pod had managed to cook meals on voyages without having to resort to any sort of crazy magic or otherworldly methods. Though, from what the Tempest scion recalled, it wasn't done on the ships' deck. There was a kitchen, or at the very least, a table, that was set with the embers and on top of it was a pot or some sort of apparatus that contained water.
The Svefra had no idea exactly how it happened, but the process boiled the fish and in effect cooked it, and this was a completely distinct process. Maybe it'd taste better? Or different? The Tempest had no idea but decided to make his way onto the deck, exiting the water with several pulls of the ocean's fluid body as his feet kicked rapidly at the water. He felt the pull of the ocean's grasp fatiguing him, his body tiring, but he found sufficient strength to rise above the water and grasp at the gunwale. He pulled himself out of the water, making his way over the gunwale and crashing onto the deck with a thud.
The Svefra quickly rose from the wooden panels of the ship's deck, hoping that the water that clung to his linen pants did not put out the flames out. He dragged himself to the other side of the ship as he looked towards Shijara, noting with an amused expression as she cut up the fish wrong. She had decapitated it, sure, but she had neglected to remove the organs and with the presence of the air sac just waiting for her to puncture it, an amusing reaction was to be had. Tydus decided, instead, merely to remain silent as he hummed over the possible effects of Poppers on an unsuspecting victim, a laugh escaping him as he reached over the gunwale and into the water.
This is going to be hilarious... I'll join her in the festivities, just so she doesn't have to enjoy her first trip as a loner.
The ocean's sense pulled at his thoughts, the presence of another fish, similar to the two he had picked up invading his mind as he clutched at it with Oceanus, encouraging it, pulling at it with his mind and coaxing it into his grasp as his other hand reached for a dagger. He hoped that Shijara was not paying attention to him as he went about the business of doing this, for it would spoil the surprise for her. Instead, Tydus pulled the fish out of the water and subsequently gutted it with a slow, careful sweep of his dagger. He had nearly cut himself in the course of the action, a small nick present upon his hand, but all was well. Organs splattered onto the floor as Tydus shook the fish with both hands. Organs made their presence known to him on the floor.
They were tiny little things, intact if completely drenched in blood, but Tydus didn't mind. He took care in identifying the fish's heart. He tossed it into the sea. Then, he found the fish's digestive system, a complex workings about of things he had no idea about, but he noted the bulging presence of something, and upon tearing at it, realized it was sustenance. This also was returned to the sea. There was little else of interest, so Tydus reached for the fish again to find that there were two large, almost tubular in shape organs left within on either side of the fish's body. He guessed that these were what he was looking for, and pulled them out. A quick dip into the water allowed the two air sacs to be cleaned of blood before Tydus brought one onto his lap, the other held in his left hand as his right reached for the dagger again.
Yet another incision was made, this time directly into the organ sac as Tydus took a deep, drawing breath from it.
Poppers were always a fun diversion, and diversion was what Tydus ultimately sought out.
The vapours filled his nostrils as he closed his eyes, eager for what would happen next.
Talking With Ty
Somewhere along the lines, Shijara had screwed up. With all her efforts, her job was still far from perfect, and while she had tried to handle some of the organs, others looked like they could be consumed. That was her downfall. No... her downfall was getting involved with the Tempests. Her current problem was her little invention.
Continuing in her rush to fuel the fire and blow the flame to bring in life, her face was close to both the bucket, and the plumes of smoke. The fish was beginning to be heated, whatever skin on the outside growing hotter and releasing its smell. Shijara inhaled deeply, exhaling a steady breeze to keep her little dream going. She would need wood in the future, something for the flame to cling onto for extended periods of time. Something... Something to...
Shijara rotated her blade slowly over the flame with the meat speared, blinking a few times. I shoulda... I shoulda been careful with the smoke. The fire's fumes, or maybe it was the evil fish... Her stomach growled and her mind slowly took on a stuffy feeling... but light and airy. I feel like a cloud. Where's Ty? Shijara started looking around, spotting the wet male doing something by the edge of the boat. Shi looked back at the food, rotating it more. She lifted her dagger, tentatively poking the meat before returning it to the fire.
Her thoughts became more clouded. I'm feeling... funny. A warm, comforting feeling was washing over her skin, the movement of the boat making her laugh instead of adding to her anxiety. For a moment, Shi felt... relaxed. She felt good. She didn't want to question it. Maybe it was the fire. The fire was warm. And her body was warm.
Where is Ty? Wait.. Did I just ask that? Or... What is he doing? The Chaktawe's dark eyes moved back to the Svefra who had finished up whatever he had been handling. Shijara cocked her head, body relaxed and she gave a lazy smile over to the Svefra. "I think," Shi paused, trying to grasp the thoughts that were like vapors in her mind, vanishing and rematerialized. The light, the good feeling continued, "You should eat this."
Taking the fish off the flame, she blew at the meat, leaning back to lay on the deck as she held the dagger above her, held out. She was nothing but grins, a small laugh bubbling from her lips. This wasn't so bad. This was nice.
Wow. The stars were really bright.
Obviously, the Chaktawe had never been on Poppers. The woman had neglected to remove the air sack before cooking the meat, and thus, was overcome with the sensation that Tydus had to instigate in response to. He was, after all, being the gentleman in this situation. Not only was he allowing her to become intoxicated and forget her fears, he was making it so that she didn't do so alone. It was obviously the most human and wonderful thing he could do for her. A chuckle escaped his lips as she called out to him, the sound of the woman's voice reverberating in his mind, echoing and forming a song that he slowly hummed to as the edges of his gaze brightened, flaring with Leth's light as laughter bubbled from the Svefra's lips.
The laughter echoed faintly upon his lips as he approached the woman as she held out the dagger and his meal, taking the dagger and stabbing it into the floor as words formed their trail in his mind. Tydus shifted his posture so that he was lying down next to the Chaktawe, staring up at the stars as the heat from the fire licked at his body. The sensation brought chills to the unaffected side while surging his exposed half with pleasure, giddy, bright laughter escaping his lips as he looked to Shi. Tydus refused to take the offered fish, shaking his head twice before he said,
"Yeh should feet it t'me. A'll return teh favour, if ye like."
The Svefra winked at the woman, snickering at the wake of his words before he moved closer to the Chaktawe. Heated skin would press to hers, his arm pressed along the length of hers. Contact brought a surge of familiar pleasure to the Svefra's body, Tydus taking a moment to calm himself down in the wake of it before he shifted his attention to the stars. Each one told a different story, each a different light that cast its unfamiliar and pressing glow over Laviku's domain. But, all was overshadowed by Leth. The Moon reigned supreme in the night sky, its luminous face, approximately half-full in its presentation to Mizahar. Tydus took in oxygen, feeling the swell of his chest as it expanded. The scents of the ocean's air filled his lungs, the combination of it all sharing a beauty that Tydus so enjoyed about the sea.
The Tempest looked over at his for-the-moment shipmate, pointing up at the sky before gesturing to the sea around them as he asked,
"S'not all bad, is it? T'is such a pretty..."
Tydus lost track of his thoughts, instead allowing himself to sink again into the depths of his pleasure as he felt the waves of heat make its way anew along his exposed arm. He reveled in it, his body trembling ever so slightly in the sensation as his eyes closed. He was, in part, waiting for the woman to feed him. He was incredibly hungry, but he'd only accept the food if the woman was willing to play along. It was all in good fun, after all.
Talking With Ty
The Svefra's suggestion of being hand fed sent the dark haired woman into a fit of giggles, her white teeth flashing in the dim lighting as she looked curiously at the man. More laughter. Deep breath. Wave the fish around. "Mmmm" Shi hummed, between giggles. The Chaktawe wasn't laughing at Ty. In fact, it wasn't him at all. Something just felt... funny. She felt funny.
"Laaazy bones." His arm was pressing against hers, the small heat from his relaxing. Shijara closed her eyes, focusing on the comforting sensation, and then to the warmth from the fire, "Okaaay. But..." Attempting to sit up and failing, the high woman blinked a few times trying to gather her thoughts, "You didn't share ya... your wine." That sentence was supposed to be a thought, but became verbalized instead. She laughed, shaking her head to dismiss the words with a grin, "C'mere."
Forcing herself to move, her abdomen muscles tightened as she began to sit up without using her arms as assistance. Turning her torso to face him, Shi looked down at the blonde Svefra, suddenly distracted. His attention had returned to the stars and Shi found herself craning her neck to admire the constellations as well.
"S'not all bad, is it? T'is such a pretty..."
The lights glittered brightly in the black sky, so bright and overwhelming. Millions of tiny balls of light twinkled down at them, leaving her awestruck. The desert... This was like the desert. No outside light other than a campfire. Just the stars and the waves of sand. A twinge of nostalgia brought on by the view clutched her heart, and Shijara gave a slow exhale. Her next words bubbled from her lips, a tinge of homesickness beginning to creep into foggy state of happiness, "Beautiful." The Tawna rolled softly off her lips, followed by a sigh.
Looking absently down at the speared fish in her hands, realization dawned on her. She was in the middle of something. "C'mere." She repeated, chuckling at her own forgetfulness. Shijara leaned over the Svefra, reaching over to hopefully move his chin to face her. Shi lifted the blade with the cooked meat, tentatively touching it with her fingertips to test the heat. It was still hot and Shijara blew gently to cool it down before grabbing the edge and pulling free a piece.
She glanced over at Ty, a smirk rising to her face as she dangled the meal before him, "Don't bite me or I'll bite back harder." Shi cautiously moved the food towards his mouth, giggling the closer she got. She was convinced he would nip her fingers, although the thought was foolish. Not much was making sense, after all.
Talking With Ty
Bright laughter erupted from Tydus' lips as he felt the effects of the poppers course through him, pleasure sweeping at him through each movement of cool Spring wind, each touch of words entering his ears, sound vibrating through his senses. The warmth of Shi's arm pulsed through his body, a wrenching feeling materializing in his mind, pulling at the sensations of lust as promises of warm flesh and pleasure were made by her proximity, but he denied himself. He was enjoying himself far too much to make the effort to seduce her, was far too amused by the events that transpired to set forth new ones.
And Shijara would be too busy feeding him to be seduced by him, at least, immediately. Her words created an immediate, but rectifiable problem, posed innocently enough yet it unsettled the Tempest deeply. He decided to stretch his body and reach for the bottle of wine again, undoing the cork as a cheeky grin materialized upon his features.
"Feed me, first. Then ye can have some... wine."
The words were slightly lulled in the depths of his intoxication, laughter bubbling again from his lips as he took a long drink of his wine. When the Chaktawe looked to the sky instead of feeding him, the Tempest was both affronted and curious, the latter quickly and totally encompassing the first as he mumbled his agreement to words he didn't understand, staring up at Leth's brilliant white light as the Tempest's heart paced in his chest. He reveled in the cool of the night and in Shijara's presence, a smile placing itself upon his lips as she dangled the food in front of him. He quickly took the fish in between his teeth, swallowing it, though not before he teasingly licked at the woman's fingers, a wink cast from his right eye as he licked at her fingers again.
Tydus was, in truth, too far gone to know whether or not the meal was any good, tastes and sensations all jumbled up and mixed, good becoming better, decent becoming excellent. The Tempest ignored all semblance of attempting to discern such a thing and instead leaned forward, his lips mere inches from hers as he said,
"Didn' bite ye, but ye could bite me anyway, if ya wanted to."
He sniggered for a moment before allowing himself to lean even further forward. And by accident, the Tempest found that his lips had pressed to Shijara's. He didn't mind the contact in the least, instead pressing into it, a hand rising to caress the woman's cheek as his intoxicated mind reveled in the heat of the woman's body, proximity pulling them closer to one another as the waves crashed against the casinor's hull. Tydus slowly pulled away from the woman, a grin plastered upon his expression for lack of whatfor to do. Thoughts were dulled in the midst of sensation, desires welling their head at the opportune moment, a deep, seeding desire to claim the prize that had run away because of Kel welling in his thoughts. Nothing could convince him of it otherwise just yet, though the wine was close enough to provide an equally appealing pull.
The Tempest breaked himself for just long enough to take another sip before he put the bottle in front of the Chaktawe,
"Promised ye a few sips, right? Ended up givin ye me lips, instead. The words... they rhyme..."
Tydus couldn't help but chuckle at the irony, though his fingers still continued to caress the Chaktawe's cheek, a reminder of their first encounter welling in his thoughts.
