This shining population center is considered the jewel of The Sylira Region. Home of the vast majority of Mizahar's population, Syliras is nestled in a quiet, sprawling valley on the shores of the Suvan Sea. [Lore]

Athaera's quiver was slung across her back, her bow and arrows resting in there. She'd always imagined them as sleeping, awaiting their next duty. As she was lost in her thoughts, she wasn't paying attention to the path before her, and tripped on a tree root lazily slung across the path, intent on making her leave with a few scratches and bruises. Luckily, she managed to catch herself before she got hurt, but her palm rammed into a stick, and a sharp crack resounded through the trees. She swore under her breath as the full force of the fall shocked her hands.
Moments afterwards, she heard a rustling in the trees, probably some game that had heard her, and had run away. She could choose to follow it, which would pretty likely be a waste of her time, or she could keep going. She opted on the latter, but this time was sure to keep away from troublesome roots, which would spoil her chances of returning to the city with some sort of token of success.

Continuing on, Athaera took a look around, seeing scenery she'd seen many times before, but it never ceased to awe her. Huge tree trunks reached from the ground to the canopy of green above, and a carpet of leaves blanketed the ground. Beams of sunlight reached through the roof of the woods, and a black shape fell into her vision. She quickly brushed her hair out of her eyes. I need to cut it or something, she thought. It was always getting in her eyes, or tickling her cheek.
As she continued on, she thought she saw flashes of the light brown, the color of a deer. This was something that occurred quite a bit when she was anticipating the presence of possible game. But when she looked, she realized she was imagining it.
About half an hour later, she heard rustling in the bushes. Going to investigate, she creeped toward where the sound came from. She hid behind a tree, seeing a deer in a clearing. She reached for her bow, setting an arrow into it. She pulled it back, stepping forward. This time, she was watching where she was going. She didn't want to make any noise, scarcely daring to breathe. Athaera closed one eye, lining the bow up with her face so she could aim better, and let go.
Whoosh. The sound of the arrow whizzing through the air was familiar to Athaera by now. She smiled as it impaled itself directly in the deer's side. She cheered quietly, even though nobody was around to hear her, so she could cheer as loudly as she wanted. Lucky shot, she thought. She made her way to the dying mammal, yanking the arrow out and using a leaf to get the remaining blood off.
Looking up, Athaera saw a rabbit across the clearing, ignoring her. She wasn't close enough to scare it, and as she saw it hop, she noticed a bit of a sluggish clumsiness. She grinned. This is going to be easy. She stopped putting her bow and arrow back in her quiver, setting the arrow in again and pulling it back until the string was taut. She aimed and let go again, and she saw the arrow fly past her, impaling itself in a tree behind the bunny. It stumbled away, startled.

Athaera was a bit dismayed that her dinner had gotten away, but had gone through this before. She couldn't keep the deer, that was for work, and the reason she was hunting in the first place.
She slung the deer over her shoulders, something she'd done many times before, but it always made her shoulders hurt after a few minutes. After walking for about half an hour, she sat on a log to rest, dropping the corpse on the ground. While it did feel like a huge weight was being lifted off her shoulders, they were still sore. She rolled them backwards and forwards, hoping to loosen them up a bit. A
crack sound emanated, and relief was flowing through her shoulders. She did a bit more stretching, and hoisted the deer back up on her shoulders. She began to make her way back to Syliras.
OOCSorry the thread is so short, I couldn't really think of much to write. My next job thread will be better, I promise.
