Stretching northward along the coastline of the Suvan Sea, the Cobalt Mountains are the home of the Bronze Wood, numerous ruins, and creatures both strange and fantastical.

OocI used the wrong placeholded thread which is why this is placed in the Colbalt mountains dispite not actually taking place in the cobalt mountains. Sorry about that.

73rd day of Summer, 514

It was almost midday on a pleasant summer day and Nivel was going to have to spend it all in a stuffy room full of books. It made her depressed just thinking about all the things she was going to miss while in this tomb that her patron had dragged her into. She Sat on her Patrons shoulder as they ventured to the desk within the tiny entrance room. The man at the desk and Grey exchanged friendly greetings with one another and it was clear that Grey was no stranger to this place. The man asked Nivel's name and rank and wrote them down in his book for future reference. Then Grey escorted Nivel to the much larger room where the books were all kept.

Nivel hadn't really seen many books in her life, only a few notes her father had given her on magical techniques. She sat patiently on Grey's shoulder as the patron got a number of books she felt her squire needed to become familiar with. When the patron had accumulated a fair stack of books from various sections she sat them on a table and place Nivel in front of them.

"Read as much of these as you can" The patron said cheerfully "We have all day to spend in here" It was clear to Nivel that this was Grey's natural habitat and judging by the many people in the place many other Mage squires were found this place home. It still wasn't what Nivel though was a good time.

Grey had fluttered off to peruse the books once more, leaving Nivel to her task. The pycon groaned before looking at the book at the top of the pile, it was the history of Syiras. She opened the book and began reading. She skimmed through the book and found the information to be not very surprising, basically the city was founded by Lawrence and Leon Dyres who also founded the knights. These Tall Folk wanted to create a city of peace as a refuge after the Valterrian. Nivel wasn't sure what the Valterrian was but it sounded like a great war that happened long ago. Once she felt she had learned enough from that book she moved on to the next.

The book right under the first was simply titled "Valterrian", it was like Grey knew exactly what they pycon needed to know. Nivel read through the pages of the slim book learning all about the cataclysm that shaped the world she lived in today. She knew very little about how this world came to be and reading about its horrible past made the pycon uneasy. The conflict didn't make much sense to her, she wondered why this cruel man would kill a women over such a silly reason. The graphic imagery was mostly lost on the pycon, since she didn't really understand human anatomy very well. She still understood death and knew how unspeakably dreadful it was to end another person’s life. While she sympathized with the god Ivak in the story she also found his actions repugnant. Many gods and people died from his actions, including a god named Sylir who was the god of Peace and civilzation. Nivel tried to read more but It became to much. She closed the book and just stood still for a while contemplating whether she really wanted to read any more.

She looked at the next book in the pile of books, It was about monsters. Nivel knew it wouldn't improve her mood to read but her curiosity about the monsters of the world got the better of her and before she knew it she was dragging the book off the pile and rummaging through its pages. The first section of the book was on Relics, these were apparently monsters that have been in existence since time began. The Qamur was the first to be described, and its description puzzled and intrigued the pycon. According to the book it wasn't so much a creature but an area of land that had gained a life of its own. Qamur only function is to remain the same, and can create any kind of natural disaster possible to keep its eco system from change. It can’t ever be killed only put to rest for a time by forcing change upon the area it dwells. Nivel was glad to see the exert on how irregularities can be spotted in the aura of Qamur, which allows it to be easily avoided if one has the magical skill to see such things. Nivel hoped she would never have to encounter something so dangerous but knew if she found one she would have to do whatever she could to keep it from killing the innocent.

The only other Relic monster was the Rozacapotl, an alien creature made of pure color. It uses camoflage and trickery to lure its victums in close enough to shead them into peices with its razorsharp body fragments.

There were a few pages torn out of the book leaving only the info on the Yukmen, journey men and the wailers. The Yukmen were pretty common and Nivel was sure she had heard all about the dimwitted creatures despite never actually seeing one herself. Journeymen, sounded like nightmare versions of pycons. While Pycons were known for their never ending curioustiy the journeymen took it to levels a pycons never would. The creatures selected victems they found interesting and tortured and killed them in an effort to understand them. Finally the last of the monsters in the book was of the wailers, they are creatures of pure sound that live amongst communities in desquise. They feed of the respiratory tract, starting from the mouth and nose, then ripping out the throat and windpipe and finally cutting open the chest to consume the lungs. As Nivel read this she didn't understand what any of this meant but knew it wasn't good. Knowing now that their may in fact be monsters could look like any other Tall Folk brought back her uneasyness.

She put the book aside and went to find Grey not feeling in the mood to read anymore, or at least for the moment. Her curioustily was bound to draw her in for more punishment, especially if she could find those missing pages.
