[Group Plotnotes] The Numerous Musketeers

I approve of Orin's idea and Iskessah's solution. The journey would probably feel a bit soulless without these major NPCs.

Knighty isn't really running the ship plots, that's me. Think of the ship as a location. I'll write up major NPCs, like the captain, mess hall attendant/chef, and first mate, etc., anyone else can write up crew mates. Does that sound fair?

It's fair. Don't forget the quartermaster...unless the ship is unarmed which would be a bit strange considering it's from the Syliran Knighthood...

It's not a Syliran knighthood vessel. It's a merchant vessel carrying knights. It'll have weapons that the crew is trained in but no hired quartermaster. c:

There are some new dates

Abura Trip Calendar

Edit: There was a little timing issue with the distance from Syliras to Riverfall (and hence two landing dates). Therefore this is the proposed solution:

Ship departure is Spring 89th, 515 AV.

Calendar:

Day 1 - 89th of Spring: Departure from Syliras - Crew is in good spirits after spending some time in port

Day 4 - 2nd of Summer: Rats are discovered in the back of the ship’s hull but thankfully have been discovered early. Only half of one half of a day's food is missing

Day 6 - 4th of Summer: Dolphins can be seen swimming alongside the ship.

Day 9 - 7th of Summer: Round the north-most point of Cyphrus. Neemi Isle can be spotted just off the coast.

Day 14 - 12th of Summer: There are particularly strong and good winds that speed up travel. Subtract half a day from the trip.

Day 17 - 15th of Summer: A storm hits in the afternoon and rages on well into the evening. Sails must be taken down for fear of damage and supplies have to be protected so that they don’t spoil or get lost overboard. By midnight the waters have calmed. Add a day to the trip.

Day 18 - 16th of Summer: The waters are exceptionally calm after the storm. There is not even the smallest breeze. The ship floats on the water hardly moving for two full days. Finally, a wind picks up and the ship can sail once more and continue the journey with ease. Subtract half a day from the trip.

Day 33 - 31st of Summer: Round another point of Cyphrus (at Cape Deception) and encounter a pod of Svefra. They effectively block the ship’s passage and ask who is aboard and what their intentions are in the Suvan Sea. Apparently there have been strange ships sailing in these waters. The Svefra pod is traveling northwards to Syliras due to some disagreement between the Svefra merchants and the knightly order and they are immediately suspicious of the knights and squires onboard. Only tactful and diplomatic negotiations will convince the Svefra to let the ship pass but not without consequence. They assign a crew member to the ship as to assure its intentions. They expect him in Syliras when the journey is concluded. NPC writeup soon.((Idea credit to Orin Fenix, edited by Aventis))

Day 45 - 43rd of Summer: Arrive in Riverfall to restock, stay for two days before setting sail again.

Day 48 - 46th of Summer: A trading ship heading north from Ahnatep warns the group about the Kanvi Whirlpool. The Eypharian traders say that they had come across it in a fog and only just managed to avoid it. Usually it is quite visible but due to their misfortune they lost two of their crew members. The captain takes the warning with a grain of salt and had planned to avoid it anyway.

Day 50 - 48th of Summer: An argument can be heard between the captain and the navigator as the captain orders the navigator to avoid Black Rock at all costs.

Day 52 - 50th of Summer: It rains for two days straight. The weather is not necessarily stormy but it’s not pleasant either. Those who spend the time inside the ship might find themselves feeling cramped and irritable, but winds favor the sails. Add half a day to the trip.

Day 55 - 53rd of Summer: The fruit on the ship has gone bad and has been thrown overboard. The crew must now sustain themselves on fish.

Day 57 - 55th of Summer: Charodae can be spotted with their heads bobbing above the water and then diving back down. They appear to be curious but also hesitant to get too close to the ship. If one has sharp eyes or manages to get close to them, Typor (large sea turtles) can be spotted in and amongst the Charodae. It is possible to make contact with them.

Day 61 - 59th of Summer: The ship passes Yahebah.

Day 66 - 64th of Summer: The ship steers near Rockward Island as it sails between Eyktol and the massive island. However, the crew members find themselves suddenly having to steer around huge rocks that are just beneath the surface of the water.

Day 75 - 73rd of Summer: Fish are plenty as the ship travels over a large school.

Day 83 - 81st of Summer: The ship arrives at Abura. The city is a sight to behold.

Other notes:
- At no point during the journey can you see both land masses on either side of the Suvan Sea. Even though the distance may appear small on the map, it is quite substantial. Even on top of the highest point of the ship’s mast, one cannot see this far.

- I looked for sea monsters but the big baddies (Nuzem) are up near Sahova and Mura. So it wouldn’t make sense for one to appear in the Suvan Sea. However, if you sail close enough to the Kanvi Whirlpool you might see some Kanvi Squid

A big thanks to Sayana c:

So this isn't really a big deal but I asked Nightmare if it was permissible and she said Isolde could bring her dog on the ship. So uh, Galan (who she will be acquiring in a thread soon) I think will be coming, unless anyone has a problem with that.

He's a nice dog so there shouldn't be any issues there.

As long as the dog doesn't chase birds, he should be fine.

Double post, I know...but Summer's here. I'm going to keep chugging on through with Viz.

I owe...
A thread to Aventis.

That's pretty much it unless I'm forgetting something.

I haven't heard back from any of my other plotters. I'm available on the ship, as well as during Riverfall mid-season (I'm going to wait a bit for the dates to get set in stone since Viz is staying there two days, and there's two days of variance,) and Abura from the 84th on.

Also, this might influence our journey along the Cyphrus coastline.

A Fantastical Summer

Strange things are afoot in Cyphrus this season. Among the cities, there are numerous events going on that seem strange and almost supernatural. Ghostly apparitions, both on land and within the sea, arise to visit Cyphrus. And of course there are the doors. Just wait for the doors. They appear and disappear randomly leading to strange places. What in the world is going on? There will even be preternatural events that pcs can both witness and take place within.

The calendar is forthcoming in the next day or two. You can even come up with your own Fantastical Event this summer. Just run it by me please!

One change this season is that we won’t have a list of Seasonal Challenges. Instead, you must participate in twelve fantastical occurrences – either from the calendar or from your own mind – to win the seasonal challenge award. I’d love to see a huge diversity in these events. The sky is the limit. Towards the middle to the end of the season (July), we’ll start figuring out whats going on and why.

When we get to Darva, and we awaken the giant sleeping monster... When there's space enough for just one person to hide in the log and Aventis is already inside. This is what it will look like.
