In human form, Aiyana is instantly recognisable as Kelvic due to her reflective, feline shaped eyes. Her hair is a very pale blonde, almost with a silvery sheen, much like her Lynx counterpart. However, in summer, her hair becomes a more coppery colour to match the coat of her animal form. She has icy grey eyes and skin so pale that to humans she simply looks ill. Her facial structure is very angular and is generally too feline to be considered attractive by human standards, but for some she holds a kind of exotic appeal.

Image

Her lynx form is fairly stocky, but Aiyana retains little of this in her human form. She is a thin, wisp of creature who looks as though she could easily be knocked over with a gust of wind and she is only around around 5 feet in height. Her frail stature as human is likely to due with the loss of her bondmate.

In comparison, her Lynx form is much like any other of its kind: powerfully built with large paws for moving through deep snow and a thick coat to protect her from the bitter winter winds, with large tufted ears and a ruffled face. Her fur is a silvery grey colour (taking on a browish hue in summer) with some black markings, especially around her face.

Aiyana spends little time in her human form, but when she does she feels no need for clothes unless it is the law of her surroundings. When clothed, she only ever tends to cover herself with her cloak.

Character Concept

Aiyana is a fey, slip of a creature who never smiles. Her eyes are sad and she always wears a serious expression which is almost wistful in nature. Her past has left her broken and full of sorrow. She cares little where she is or who she meets and barely feels alive. She eats and sleeps, but does little in the way of hobbies. There is something is almost ghost like in her movements, with her drifting around with little notice of where she is going.

Her Kelvic nature instills her with a deep desire to serve and form a bond, however she is constantly struggling against her own instincts; she is reluctant to trust anyone, or even be in the company of slavers, for fear of forming the bond she so desires only to have it cruelly snatched from her again.

Aiyana used to be gay and playful, but now she is only full of self-loathing and hatred for both herself and for the creator of the Kelvic species- she does not feel 'human' enough to ever truly fit in with society and she has no one in her animal form either, with the Lynx being a solitary creature. Much like a lynx, in her human form she is shy and secretive- she often sits in the darkest cornet of a tavern so she can be close to people, but she never speaks unless she is spoken to, and has a tendency to run away if too much attention is on her.

As it is, Aiyana flits from city to city, desperate to feel some form of belonging, but unable to, avoiding humans as she does. Currently, she roams the lands around Sylira, preferring to stay in her animal form as she finds it easier to forget her pain when she is chasing after prey in order to survive the wilderness.

When prey is scarce, or her need to serve is so great it can no longer be ignored, she ventures down into the city, pleading jobs from whomever she can. She owns a small home, but rarely stays there, preferring to sleep in any caves she can find, or simply under the stars. Her Lynx form is nocturnal and Aiyana's human form likewise prefers the quiet solitude of the night, where she can roam Sylira without eyes upon her. The city suits her needs well, as she knows she can slip away in the multitude of streets or the busy crowds if she begins to feel agitated.

Character History

Aiyana was born in spring and her name means eternal blossom. She was birthed by Kelvic parents in Zeltiva, as part of a breeding programme between two wealthy merchant families looking to breed more Kelvic to help with their work. Aiyana had little to do with her father, but her mother, Lusa, tended to her with devotion and love.

She was gladly adopted in the family of her mother's bondmate, Carilla Ottano. Carilla and her husband, Yonson Ottano, were kind masters unable to sire their own children, often showering Lusa and Aiyana with gifts and love so long as they did the work asked of them. It was hoped that Aiyana would bond with Yonson, but it was not to be.

As a youngster, Aiyana had a playful and carefree nature, enjoying play-fighting as a Lynx and exploring as a girl. She loved who she was, whether it was the child exploring the docks of Zeltiva or as a Lynx cuddles in Carilla's lap by the fire. Aiyana was as loved and cherised as her mother, and in return she laughed easily and loved deeply.

Family life with the Ottanos could not have been happier for Aiyana. She spent her days learning how to serve the Ottano's business alongside her mother, and then often accompanied the merchants to a tavern in the evening, where she would join in with the singing, dancing and other merriments. Other children loved to see her transform into a Lynx and to play with her and, in spite of the usual solitary nature of Lynxs, she was almost never alone.

Aiyana adored music more than anything as she could see the happiness it brought to others, so she pleaded for an instrument so that she might learn to make others that happy. Indeed, the Ottanos soon bought her a flute of her own. When she wasn't working, Aiyana devoted herself to her music, learning from other musicians at the tavern.

At 2 years of age, her mother began to encourage her to search for a bondmate as it was apparent she would never bond to Yoson Ottano. Although Aiyana had initially only been bred for work, she was now a loved part of the family, and Carilla too encouraged her to go and find happiness.

So Aiyana moved out and into the attic room of the local tavern where she had spent much of her childhood. She was able to come and go as she pleased and turn into her Lynx form if she wished as the locals were long used, and even fond of, the queer looking Kelvic girl. Aiyana was overjoyed at her new position. She was unbonded, but for now bringing people happiness and serving them with her music was enough.

One evening, only a few months after she had left the Ottanos, she was playing her lute when a young man entered the tavern. He was tall with dark hair and dark eyes and Aiyana felt a stirring she had never felt before. Their eyes met across the room and for once Aiyana felt a desire compelling her to do more than just play her flute- she wanted to fall to her knees and serve him.

Once she had finished playing, she longed to approach the man, but her Lynx nature overpowered her desire for closeness and she hid outside, feeling uncharacteristically shy.

However, she was only alone for moments when the young man was at her side and complimenting her playing and asking if he might know her name. He told her he had never seen a woman so beautiful and became even more intrigued when Aiyana explained that she was only half human. The gentlemen's name was Vakir and he had traveled from the city of Ravok. Vakir had come to Zeltiva to study magic at the University.

Every day for the next month, Aiyana guided Vakir around the city and before they knew it they were bonded and were bound in marriage.

Aiyana moved from the tavern and got a small house on the docks with Vakir, complete with an enchanting room where he could practice his magic. She served him with every ounce of devotion in her soul and loved him with all her heart. She cooked him his meals, warmed his feet as a Lynx at night, and even allowed him to practice his magic on her. In return, he was a loving husband and he would take a little time out each day to bathe her and brush her hair. She blossomed, much like the spring blooms she was named for, and was a picture of health and happiness.

With the bonding, they changed and grew alongside each other and without the frivolities of tavern life, more of her lynx nature became apparent. She adopted a more serious nature, much like that of her husbands, and rarely visited her childhood home or friends anymore, preferring only Vakir's company. She also developed a more studious nature, swapping her flute for books. Like Vakir, she longed to study at the university and spent her small amount of free time buried in stories. For his own part, Vakir became more expressive with his emotions like Aiyana.

Two years flew by and Aiyana was as happy as a Kelvic could be. She loved Vakir with an intensity and passion she never thought possible and lived to serve him. The bond between them was growing ever stronger and deeper and Aiyana thought she would spend the rest of her life with Vakir, but soon her world was turned upside down.

Vakir returned from the University one evening and announced that he had enough knowledge of magic to finish his studies. He informed Aiyana he was going travelling. Aiyana was delighted, believing they would explore the world together, perhaps with Vakir even helping her with her study of the stars.

But it was not to be. Vakir informed her he had never truly loved her and that their bond had only been a convenience and a means of which he could practice his magic. A shocked Aiyana begged and pleaded with, promising she would be a better wife and that he would need someone to care for him on his travels, but Vakir told her that her use had ran its course. He severed the bond.

Aiyana, who had never known a moment of pain of sorrow in her life, was crippled by the agony of the bond breaking. Her heart was seized with an bitter cold and her mind was filled with darkness- she transformed into her lynx form and ran, and ran, until she could run no more and her paws were bleeding and swollen.

For several days, she remained in her lynx form, not eating and simply curled into a ball. She hardly noticed when her mother came in search of her and, with the help of Carilla, bought her home.

Returning to the city awakened her from her stupour, but she could not stay in the city, not when every small thing was a reminder of her bondmate. In the dead of night, she slipped from the Ottano's home and sought out her old home, which Vakir had already left. The only possession she took with was her flute, leaving everything else behind. She knew that she would never return to Zeltiva or see her family again and, without saying goodbye, she left.

Now, one year on, she roams from city to city, still filled with longing for Vakir with her broken heart, longing for the closeness so fundamental to a Kelvic, but too afraid to ever trust again.

Aiyana much prefers to sleep in the wilderness in her lynx form, but she does have a small home in the city of Sylira, where she keeps her few possessions in a chest by her bedside, such as her loot, money for when times are hard, and cloak. Hello there!

I'm Crosspatch, one of the friendly CS Liaisons on Mizahar! I've been looking over your Character Sheet, and I have noticed some minor issues that need to be resolved and fixed. Sadly these need to be done before you can continue roleplaying, so let's take a look at them shall we?

  • Due to being Novice in Wilderness Survival can you please clearly state somewhere the one environment type your PC is familiar with? (Example types include: Desert, Forest, Hills, Marsh, Mountains, Plains, Sea or Underground).
  • Please choose a cloak or coat. You cannot have both.
  • Please label "Metal flute" as "Play Musical Instrument: Flute".

Once these problems have been dealt with, drop me a PM and I'll remove this intervention and approve your CS for you. Also if you have any questions don't hesitate to ask and I'll do my best to answer!
