"Well, you look ready." Explains Ser Xervos with a slight smirk across his visage. It was later in the afternoon, Synas bright glow of sunlight trickled down hmthe skies and firmly landed over Syliras. It was warm and nearly muggy. But, it was tolerable weather wise of course. Ferrin looked up once at the sky. Grey clouds dispersed here and there, one would travel in front of the sun. But, it'll be reveled once again sooner than later.

"I am ready." Said Ferrin lightly. He wasn't ready. He was getting more nervous about these woods than when he first traversed his way into Syliras. When he was a hunter, the chances of encountering bandits were slim last year. Now, they've risen from the undergrowths of the woods and are spread all around the outskirts of Syliras. It was creepy. Now, they're are more requests of patrols ensuring throughout Syliras, and more of a need for new members to join the Order.

"I know when your afraid. You'll be fine with me. There is another Knight coming as well, I think he'll arive soon. Most likely." Said Ser Xervos with a worried nod.

"You don't know who it is?" Asjed Ferrin in awe. It seems that Ferrin wasn't the only one in the Order who tends to be misinformed.

"No not really. I wasn't given much detail. But, I'm sure we'll all get along well with one another." Replied the Knight with a sly smile. He turned and faced the streets of Syliras. The Knight was resting his back against the wall of the Main Gates. Ferrin wasn't as relaxed as him. Of course. Ferrin was rocking on his heels. They were both waiting. Ferrin rested one hand over the pommel of his blade. A short broadsword. It was custom made at the Mythryn.

He had his shield with him of course, and armor. Now adays, you can't leave Syliras without protection. It's important.

A Road of Disaster (Saga)

Postby Saga on July 28th, 2016, 8:20 pm

There was a glow of light emanating on the Sungold horse, different from the shining rays of sun. Saga Otor routinely used his power of Luminance on those around him, especially on his new horse Red. The horse wasn't quite comfortable with him yet but the light eased whatever negative emotions and became more chipper.

He was to help another Knight on patrol through the Kabari Roads. A road he didn't get to visit often with his studies and all. It was muggy but he still needed to be armored for the journey. Armored robes were kind of heavy but instilled to others that he was Mage-Knight and to be treated as such.

Saga noted the increased activity with bandits and it was good have backup for once. Last time he ran into a bit of a bind. Red trotted along the weathered path passing a must see scenery. Two figures started to become clearer in the distance.

As he neared Saga saluted to the patron Knight and the other man. "Greetings. I'm Syliran Knight Saga Otor, 1st Wing, White Company, 1st Regiment, Gold Quadron. It is an honor to patrol with you both," the Akontak said to the two men.

One of them resting on the pommel of his short broadsword, seemed they were waiting for him. "Apologies if I was late. Red here is getting used to me still and slowed the pace a little. I am ready when you are," Saga said to him.

Ferrin loosened up his nerves. His grip was loosened from his hold on the pommel of his short broadsword. Ferrin let out a breath and he noticed the mage-knight ride on his horse. He was a mage-knight because he wore the robes to prove it. Plus, the badge as well that was pinned to his chest signified him as a Knight. Ser Xervos was the one to speak.

"Aye pleausre to meet you. I am Ser Xervos Al'Mandrikan, 1st wing Yellow Company 2nd Regiment Silver Quadron." Stated Ser Xervos with a pleasing smile. "This is my Squire, Ferrin Al'Mandrikan. This is my nephew." Said the Knight with a friendly nod. "Ah, horsemanship. I always press my squires to learn it as one of the first things to know."Replied the Knight.

Ferrin stood quiet, he didn't bother to interrupt either of them. Or else he might be quite punished for it. Though, the squire has questions for the mage-knight. Ferrin grew quite interested in magics, since he has had met a few people who knew some of them. Some were squires mostly...

"You'll be joining us for the patrol, yes? I have been told of disaster hitting alongside the Kabrin. Miles from here. You are prepared, yes?"

A Road of Disaster (Saga)

Postby Saga on July 29th, 2016, 2:00 pm

Saga nodded his head with approval at hearing that Knight and Squire were related. The Akontak was an only child, and not much family. Then the Ser Xervos begin say, "Ah, horsemanship. I always press my squires to learn it as one of the first things to know."

Saga took a look at Ferrin and said, "He's right you know. Doesn't mean it's easy. Red here as almost thrown me twice since we started riding. Beautiful creatures. Hard to please however," and a smile crept on his face.

Vurik chimed in his mind. The Sylirians would be nothing without their Calvary.

Saga barked back. It's called strategy Vurik. A powerful one at that. Everyone has their weakness but the Knight's show none.

The other soul he shared his mind with quieted down after that.

"You'll be joining us for the patrol, yes? I have been told of disaster hitting alongside the Kabrin. Miles from here. You are prepared, yes?"

Saga pulled his horse up towards the gates, "I have heard of such news. Let's go check the damage out. I'm ready when you are."

"Good. I guess we'll be leaving then."Replied the Knight simply with a shrug. Ser Xervos turned and headed for the Gates with Ferrin following beside him. Ferrin grew interested in this mage-knight.

"So your a mage then?" Asked Ferrin curiously looking up to the man on the horse before him. "I've seen mage-squires, but your the first mage-knight I've seen so far... What exactly do you practice?" He asked with an intent to want to learn magic.

Ferrin would listen to Saga to reply, but he knew better than fire so many questions to the man.

"Ferrin try not to be such a burden to the man. Let's focus on your training."Said Ser Xervos dryly, "It's better if you don't get side tracked."

"But Ser-"

"We're walking into almost bandit territory now. We need to be aware of what's around us. If we're caught off guard alone, by Sylir who knows what will happen. Do you know what I'm trying to say squire? "

"Yes Ser Xervos. My apologies Ser Saga. I didn't mean to impose on you like that." Said Ferrin shyly. His cheeks flushed, but he attempted to hide his embarrassment.

"Good, it's best we stay quiet anyways. We need to be more careful out here."Spoke Ser Xervos with a rash smile across his lips. Ferrin was growing a bit agitated with his uncle. Though, he figured that these things are what uncle's and aunts might do.

Every time the two walked, dirt kicked up beneath them, when Red walked, his hooves would pick up gravel and dirt mixed. Ferrin rubbed his eyes, some dirt slightly found it's way inside his eyelids, though he managed to rub it out with his free hand. The one not holding the shield of course.

It didn't take long for the group to reach the turned wagon. Ferrin immediately spotted footprints heading towards the canopy. "Sers. More than one trail of boot prints. All heading one direction. Perhaps a camp is up ahead..."

A Road of Disaster (Saga)

Postby Saga on July 29th, 2016, 6:34 pm

Being from a family divided between the uses of magic it was a daunting subject in his household. But Akontak's had an attraction to the arcane arts. He reveled in the fact that the Knight's didn't mind him dabbling in the arts, only if he stayed out of the Dark Arts.

Ferrin had taken interest seeing as there weren't many Mage Knight's around and asked what did he practice. But his question was cut off by the Knight reprimanding him for bothering Saga. "No bother at all Ser Xervos. The interest in Mage Knight's is appreciated. I always practice the way of the blade," Saga said tapping his Katana and Wakazashi on his sash.

He rubbed the back of Red's mane as he continued, "But my magic is whats most important to me. It is volatile and takes a very long time to understand and use. I practice control. From setting things that I don't want on fire, to capturing enemies without incident. A lot harder than it sounds."

But Ser Xervos mentioned they should be quiet in this area and Saga agreed. Time to be on the lookout. They rode down the path, two on horse and one on foot. Till they came upon an overturned wagon.

Saga's eyes frowned. There was no one around the wagon, then he noticed footprints leading from the wagon on towards the canopy. Ferrin commented on it, "Sers. More than one trail of boot prints. All heading one direction. Perhaps a camp is up ahead..."

"Good eyes Squire. I don't like the looks of it. Lets stay alert and quiet. Let's use Ekeldi if we need too convey a message. I'll take lead Ser Xervos. Lets see where it leads." Red picked up his trot again and Saga set him on the path tracking the footprints.

"Very well, we'll follow you in behind. Make sure your mare stays calm. Or else we'll be damned most likely. "Said Ser Xervos dryly. Ferrin didn't understand what Ekeldi was. Though, he knew from other Knights that it was learnt by Knights; as sign language in a way.

Ferrin of course stayed silent the way throughout the canopy. Ferrin was just also somewhat eagered to know about magic and how to use it. But, right now isn't the time, or the place to talk.

After a few chimes of following the trail Saga would find his discovery of a clearing. Ferrin was surprised that the bandits wouldn't leave their tracks without clearing them first. Soon, the three would hear an audible screech of help. It was a woman's call, Ser Xervos matched pace with Red and caught up to the front side of the horse. " Ser Saga, I believe that must be our cue."He said in a low bare audible whisper. "I think you should dismount. It'll be safer for the mare in case of any fatal attempts that might occur." He said.

"It's a campsite of course..." Stated Ferrin in a whisper as well. Shame, I forgot my bow..." He said slowly. Without his bow, things will get a little challenging for the three of them. "Though, you do of course know magic. Would your magic help us in any way?"Ferrin asked Saga.

" I think we should attempt to conceal ourselves behind that large underbrush over there. They won't see us." Said Ser Xervos with a shrug. He started heading over and gestured for the two to follow. Ferrin did. Though, it was up for Ser Saga if he wanted to or not.

A Road of Disaster (Saga)

Postby Saga on July 31st, 2016, 5:46 am

It's a trap you fool.

Captain Obvious, I was beginning to think you wouldn't show.

Your antics annoy me Saga. Be careful with OUR body.

I like this body too. Suits ME quite well.Saga jabbed at his other soul.

Ser Xervos let him take the lead and the party went on. Red was starting to look around a lot more for some reason. Then Red led them to a clearing after a few chimes went by. They stopped to inspect the area, that was when they heard it. A screech nearby, it sounded like it belonged to a woman.

Xervos pulled his horse next Red and Saga. "Ser Saga, I believe that must be our cue," he whispered. "I think you should dismount. It'll be safer for the mare in case of any fatal attempts that might occur."

Saga nodded, and followed the advice by dismounting Red. He gave a message to Red to be silent, the horse was very smart and understood that something was amiss. Then Ferrin asked to Saga "Though, you do of course know magic. Would your magic help us in any way?"

The Akontak turned to Ferrin. "If its an enemy. Then it will protect us. And the light of Priskil is in my hands."

" I think we should attempt to conceal ourselves behind that large underbrush over there. They won't see us."

He went to the bush and beckoned for the Squire and the Mage Knight to follow. So both of them did, and the peered past to get a better look. Saga could see in the dark and the day, so he had amazing vision. He wanted to see if the Squire Ferrin had seen.

"If you see anything Ferrin. Point it out," whispered Saga.

It was obvious, the campfire. Of course, it always has to be a campsite. When are these petching bandits going to learn. The Bronze Woods is the territory of the Order's. It's not free land for these jerks to rob whoever they see crossing the Kabrin.

Though, whatever it is, more and more of them continue to show up from no where. Ferrin wonders how much bandits there could possibly be in a small world like this. What's their aim towards destruction. What are their plans.

When Ser Saga expressed that Ferrin could point things out, he already spotted several mishaps. "Traps..." Ferrin pointed out with his skilled eyes. "Heavily guarded by plants and fallen leaves. Of course you already see the couple tents lined up right." Ferrin asked wearily his tone was still in a constant whisper. Ser Xervos stayed silent watching the tents with curiosity.

"I believe they have set wiring under those leaves. We have to be careful-" crying. That's what it was. The noise of cries for pleas and help. It was the same woman that the group might've heard earlier. Though, Ferrin didn't see any bandits lurking out. "I think they're baiting us..." Said Ser Xervos. "The bandits must be hiding on the other end of the clearing. They've must've known we were coming..." The Knights tone was more of an angered hoarsed whisper.

"So, what do we do now?" Asked Ferrin not sure what to do.

A Road of Disaster (Saga)

Postby Saga on August 1st, 2016, 6:34 pm

Saga was pressed in the situation at hand. For the life of him he didn't figure to bring his own Squires along with him on this patrol. Opting to let them train at the castle with each other. The Squire Ferrin had asked the obvious question, "So, what do we do now?"

Saga could see the traps badly laid out around the campsite. They were spaced far and between, he was gambling he could maneuver Red through the traps without setting them off. Which would leave him towards the tents and the end of the clearing where they assumed was the ambush.

The Akontak took the lead. "This is what we'll do. This seems like an ambush to the tee. But I can't ignore a cry for help on the chance that it isn't. It could be a real hostage. I will ride Red towards the path and announce my presence while avoiding the traps. You two can go around the clearing and ambush their ambush if you can. I will try to draw their attention. I can defend myself. Ser Xervos, I leave it to you," said Saga saluting the Knight and Squire.

Saga walked back to Red and hoisted himself over the beautiful stallion. He directed the loose reigns towards the path again. Red followed suit and started walking back towards the clearing away from the underbrush.

Being careful to avoid the spots pointed out, the Mage Knight had put himself in the cross-hairs. "Who cries for help?" Saga asked loudly towards the campsite. He was having a bad feelings about this. He began to focus on his Djed ready to use his magic at a moments noticed.
