Considered one of the most mysterious cities in Mizahar, Alvadas is called The City of Illusions. It is the home of Ionu and the notorious Inverted. This city sits on one of the main crossroads through The Region of Kalea.

37 Summer 516

Upon arriving at the bizarre Clyde was immediately confused. The building it was housed within was tiny. At least, tiny in Clyde's mind compared to many of the other markets he had been to. Considering the trade he knew occurred in Alvadas, it seemed odd.

It had taken him several bells to find the place, partially because it had shifted position right after he set out to find it and so had trouble finding anyone who'd been to its current spot. Eventually though he did manage to get some directions, and ended up at his destination.

He didn't have a specific purchase in mind, simply wanting to look about and see if anything took his fancy.

However when he walked inside the building, he once more grew confused. From outside the building was small, but from within it was much larger. Clyde could only assume this was an illusion, though he wasn't sure if the outside building was the illusion or the inside size.

Having long since grown accustomed to the oddity of Alvadas, the discrepancy didn't overly upset him and he was quickly wandering about within the place in search of a deal or something he wanted.

Cha tapped along on the ground as he walked, keeping his eyes open about him.

He saw one stall selling long swords of varying design, waved, straight, curving, and all other manner. He saw a person selling fried goat meat on a stick, and another selling candied apples. He saw one person selling some scrolls which his Glyphers eye picked out as a work of that craft. However he also picked out that they were rather poorly made even by most peoples standards of the magic, let alone his high standards.

Onward the room seemed to stretch beyond his sigh with more places. However after five chimes of walking he turned back to find the door, only to see it was still rather close by and within sight. Another oddity of the place, he could only assume.

I am actually in RL a super intelligent hamster from Rhode Island, with a 7 year plan to take over the world.

Update 6/2/18- 1:10AM EST: His 7 year plan a success, and several weeks ahead of schedule, Clyde leaves to oversee the world he has taken over.

No new threads after end of Spring 518-Will still be checking for PM's occasionally, but focusing on a new character.

Graders note: :
Please be aware Clyde is a master Magecrafter. He therefore should not be gaining full xp(or possibly shouldn't gain any at all) for simple tasks related to this magic, such as low level MC items, particularly for repetitions of creations he has done before. Feel free to contact me if unsure of a instance of his magic use compared to his skill level.

[The Bizarre]Magic and Muggings[Hwyn]

Magic and muggings

Their is a saying about old habits, one that doesn't give much hope to the people who would say that everyone can change, it is that, old habits die hard. This was certainly the case for Hwyn, their was something that had always appealed to him when it came to taking that which he could, at one point it had been his method of survival, now it was less for survival and more for the same reason that some bite their fingernails. It was a habit that had formed and like a scar the moral dilemma that came with the practice was only a dull throb that was easily ignored. it wasn't like he stole everyday as a basis for survival, more like he had a morbid curiosity as to what the contents of a man's pockets might be.

Hwyn's recently acquired ability hadn't done much to discourage such behavior. Hwyn had found that even a few days later the ribbons he had found in the maze still appeared if he looked for them. The ribbons as he had taken to calling them followed everyone around, people animals dogs and anything else that moved. Oddly enough even some objects had their own ribbons though those ribbons weren't as bright as the others had been. Beyond that the only complication that came with the ribbons were his eyes. It was beyond him but no amount of blinking could clear the colors that now played host to his eyes. where his eyes had once been a solid light green, ruby like veins now pulsed outwards from his eyes. On one level he liked the new addition to his countenance they made his eyes even prettier than they previously had been, but at the same time he had no doubt that they would attract unwanted attention. As such he again had to change his countenance to cover for his eyes.

As such he had added a blindfold to his normal set of apparel. It was a long strip of white cotton he'd tied over his eyes not unlike a headband wore too low.It obscured his vision slightly but in daylight or any well lit environment he could see through the cloth well enough that it didn't obscure his vision in a way that would make him unable to navigate or, in his case rifle through peoples pockets.

Though perhaps their was a better method to hide his features, with that thought in mind Hwyn set out for the bizarre, it was one of his favorite spots in the city anything could be found within it meaning that he had a good chance of finding something to suit his need. Getting ready to set out from the temple of Ionu where he was staying Hwyn prepared himself by applying his usal preference in makeup, rouge cheeks and a slight touch of rose dye to his bottom lip. beyond that he decided that today was a yellow dress kind of day so in place of the black outfit he wore when utility was key he put on the Yellow dress he had become fond of, it's color was like that of dandelions, which was what he assumed had been used for the dye, and dark green stockings. it wasn't particularly an outfit one would wear to often but if one desired to look like a flower than this outfit certainly fit the bill.

With all that taken care of he set out for the bizarre. As per usual it took three wring turns and two sets of directions to find the place but Hwyn Smiled when he finally had their was just something about markets that made him happy. so any different things that he could snag, and beyond that too many clothes to choose from. Though today he was planning on looking for something special. opening his eyes Hwyn sought out the ribbons, and slowly color began to fill his vision, casting his gaze about Hwyn looked for the brightest ribbon he could find and was quickly led to a pair of particularly bright ones, they left behind a thick swathe of color that even a blind man could follow without trouble, it was at the least the brightest one he'd seen since he'd gotten the ability, though he didn't spend too much time using it, whatever was leaving this trail had to be special.

After a moment of following the colors he saw the origin of the two strings of color, one was a man, and the other a cane or walking stick of sorts? Hwy had never seen an object let out more than a trickle of light and yet that object gleamed like gold. Stalking the man Hwyn wen into the his mode for pick pocketing, slowing his breathing Hwyn crept up on the darkl dressed tall man, he countenance seemed to exude a sort of confidence but that was something to be exploited not intimated by, after all the confident ones never expect a thief to approach by daylight. The plan was simple it'd be a run buy the question was, what was he going to try and steal? Deciding that their was simply no way to take the man's staff from the way he held it Hwyn decided to take the low road and steal his coin instead.

Moving towards the man at a rather rapid pace Hwyn targeted the coin pouch at the man's waist, the trick was simple. Move in fast, and move out faster.

First step was simple come in at the man''s back and cut to his left using your right arm jostle his right shoulder. This usually draws their attention to their right while you move to their left.

Second step snag the coin purse and yank. if it's loose you'll get it easy, if it's secured you either pull as hard as you can and hope, or abandon it.

Either way step three success or not is to run dodge and weave through the crowds.

With that Hwyn put the plan into practice.

Secret :
I wasn't sure where Clyde would keep his coin so I can edit my post if need be depending on where you'd have it. Otherwise Hwyn's plan has been outlined how you react is all yours

[The Bizarre]Magic and Muggings[Hwyn]

Postby Clyde Sullins on August 8th, 2016, 1:31 am

The first sign that something was amiss was a tingle across his neck, and across the skin of Cha where his fingers met the wood. As he looked over a table covered in crockery Clyde felt the familiar feeling of djed in the air.

Magic.

Glancing about subtly, attempting to appear as if he was simply looking at the wares of other tables and booths as his eyes passed over people, he will his djed to roil and rise and flow into Cha. Upon his willing it several strands of Aura sight extended out from Cha's surface, radiating outward, latching on to three or four people at once.

Clyde spent a few moments on each person, using the skill he had to peruse them quickly for the hum of active magic. He could still vaguely feel it in the background, so he knew someone somewhere nearby was using magic.

After a chime or so of switching auras in rapid order he felt a hum upon one, and knew he'd found his mage. Or if nothing else someone who had some kind of active magic upon them or emitting from them, which seemed to most likely mean they were a mage.

Having found the source of the magic Clyde synced the hum of the person to the one he'd heard and felt, recognizing it as the same tone.

He didn't need to look directly, he could see the person within his aura sight as easily if not better than if he'd been looking at them with his mundane eyes. Beyond the hum of magic upon them he also noted their features. Young, small, and lightly humming with djed and magic.

As he picked up and tested the weight of a bowl, feeling it with his mundane fingers, he felt out through Cha the person before him with the magic. He plucked at the chord of sound, listening deeper, searching for the melody trapped within the hum of song and words.

It took him a moment or two of looking at the person within his aura sight to realize he was following Clyde in particular, and that he was attempting to rob him. The way he walked, his focus on Clyde, and other small details he observed seemed to intimate this. Either that or he was an assassin heading off to murder him. He felt the robbery was more likely, though he couldn't preclude the person being a assassin. People had tried to have him killed before.

When the person began to speed up and move towards him faster he knew whatever they were about to do, they were going to do. As he saw no weapon, no blade, no visible means of attack or poisoning, his earlier assumption of a robbery seemed more evident.

Just as the person was about to reach him, he felt the hum of their eyes, felt the heat of the djed in them as compared to the cool djed of the rest of their body. That was where the djed was, the active magic. Magic from the eyes. The most obvious was Auristics or Hypnotism, but that didn't seem right. If they were using Auristics on him, he'd feel the touch upon his aura, and would know. Likewise with Hypnotism he'd feel the injection of foreign djed into his own aura and body, feel the djed that way.

He'd seen those magics at work more than enough times to know their touch when used directly upon him.

With all his knowledge of magic, personal and world, he couldn't think of another that fit the bill. This puzzled him more than anything else, and left him wondering what this child was using. Either something he'd not heard of before, or something being used in a way he didn't know of.

The first step of the bandits mugging worked fine, bumping into Clyde. However as Clyde could see him coming and knew it was about to happen, he was able to react in ways an unaware person wouldn't.

Instead of turning in the direction of the impact he turned towards where the mugger was going, turned and half fell as if the impact had almost knocked him down and sent him almost atop the mugger.

When the hand reached out for his coinpurse, attempting to snatch it, Clyde reached out his own free hand in an attempt to grip it. Not grip it as if he was angrily grabbing it or snatching at it, more akin to how someone would take a offered hand when they were falling. He would pretend as if he misunderstood the extended hand, as if he thought the youth was simply helping him and offering a grip to save him from falling, in hopes of not scaring the mugger off too quickly.

His face lighting up with a smile, Clyde stared down at the youth. If he managed to take the "offered" hand that was saving him from falling Clyde would smile and speak to the youth.

“Ah, thank you for your kindness, I seemed to have stumbled. Let me reward your kindness. A meal, on me. I insist! Anyplace you'd like. When someone does something nice they should be rewarded. My treat.”

As he said "treat" Clyde would pat at his coinpurse on his belt, signifying the thing the youth had just been trying to steal from, though in a way that might leave said youth thinking Clyde wasn't aware of said attempted robbery.

Clyde had a feeling playing a fool for the moment would work better for gaining the youth's momentary trust, and more importantly keeping said youth from running away. Particularly since he was offering to freely give what had been intended to be stolen.

Title and Date

Their were times when things went wrong, and even tomes when things with badly, the predicament Hwyn found himself in superseded both of those. He'd been caught but it was worse than the usual sort of being caught even then. he'd been caught before and taken some pretty decent beatings as a result. But the situation he was in was different, he didn't have a precedent for it, the man had managed to read his moves almost perfectly he hadn't had a chance from the start it felt like. The man had turned into Hwyn instead of away from him and caught his outstretched hand cutting him off from his goal of catching the man's coins. As such Hwyn found himself with one of his hands caught in the man's firm grasp, it felt like one he might be able to pull free from but then he'd have to find a way to escape after being identified. No this situation was poor indeed hwyn was at the mercy of his own would be mark.

“Ah, thank you for your kindness, I seemed to have stumbled. Let me reward your kindness. A meal, on me. I insist! Anyplace you'd like. When someone does something nice they should be rewarded. My treat.”

Hwyn was rarely intimidated by brutish thugs, even the knights of syliras hadn't struck too much fear into him, the squires anyways. but this man's congenial smile and offer filled Hwyn with a unpleasant feeling to his very core, nobody was that dumb, and nobody was that nice. Hwyn felt certain that he had been backed into a corner, he'd rather risk whatever this man's desires were than risk a prison cell. The way the man patted his coin purse and emphasized treat further added to Hwyn's paranoia.

Matching the man's smile Hwyn nodded slowly as his face flushed from a mix of hot emotions. He would have to do something soon but for now he squelched his desire to flee and conceded victory to the other.

Weakly pointing to a stall selling grilled meats and sweet wines Hwyn decided that the area was public enough that the man would not try anything crazy at it and that it was the safest place for them to dine.

"U'uhm, r-right there is fine, and t-thanks"

Biting his bottom lip due to nerves Hwyn would wait for the man's reply and follow him given he took the lead. Meanwhile he silently began to look for an escape should he need one. The bizarre had many stalls and perhaps he could dive through the stall selling carpets and make it to the clothing section. If he could make it their he could loose anyone. Tugging on his blindfold Hwyn tightened it to make sure it wouldn't come loose should he need to run.

Clyde smiled back at the youth at the nod of acceptance of his offering.

While he did this he continued to examine the aura, feeling about and getting a good examination in while things progressed.

First things first he got a good look at the eyes. The fact that he had a clothe over them and that they were also the source of the magic he'd sensed was reason enough.

Pushing aside the aura of the blindfold Clyde focused inward, seeing and sensing the youth's eyes for the first time. The first thing that struck him was their appearance. They had odd features to them, an odd colored sunburst about the more mundane features of the eyes. Along with that the eyes seemed to almost... Glow... Or some other similar description. He could hear the hum of djed off of them, could feel them as the source of the magic, and felt the hum was in sync with the glow of the eyes.

Among the hustle and bustle of the bizarre Clyde and the youth's collision was soon forgotten, mainly as both seemed to be getting along amicably. Surely the reaction would have been greater if Hwyn had indeed crashed into him and raced away, and Clyde had cried out "thief" after him.

Heading over to the offered stand with grilled meats, Clyde took a moment to try and figure out what sort of meat was being cooked. When he was still left with a mystery a few moments later he gave up puzzling on it, instead focusing his skills on puzzling out the mystery that sat before him in human form.

Smiling down at the youth Clyde ordered from the stall owner, taking two large pieces of meet skewered on small wooden sticks with blunted ends in exchange for a few passed coins, and handed one of the meat on sticks to the youth.

“Come, why don't we walk as we eat. I'd love to here more of you, of your story, of how you came to be the person I see who so willingly came to my aid.”

Lowering his tone so only Hwyn could hear over the noise of the bizzarre, Clyde smiled and spoke.

“Perhaps if you are still here when our conversation ends, I might feel the need to reward you further with a few gold mizas. Or you can scurry off in fear without learning anything, and be left wondering what you might have gained and what my story is.”

Picking his tone back up to normal, Clyde smiled, gesturing for the two of them to walk among the throng of the bizarre, among many moving people and many shouted and spoken voices.

After giving Hwyn a chance to speak, Clyde would take a few moments and eat several bites of his meat.

If Hwyn did speak Clyde would wait patiently for the youth to speak and say whatever he wanted to. If he didn't speak or once he finished speaking Clyde would look down at the youth, and smile once more.

“I must say, you have very pretty eyes. Wherever did you get them?”

[The Bizarre]Magic and Muggings[Hwyn]

Magic and Muggings

Accepting the grilled treat from the man Hwyn walked with him, the feeling of immediate danger had passed and was replaced more resigned feeling that comes with accepting a punishment begrudgingly. The fact that he was being fed didn't hurt too much either. Biting into the meat Hwyn savored it's flavor it was juicy warm and seasoned and none to tough, the aroma added made the meal a quite convincing. The man suggested the walk as they eat and assuming they avoided any dark alleys Hwyn didn't mind the suggestion. Though what followed the suggestion made Hwyn's neck crawl, It was a low key threat, or perhaps just a heavily enforced suggestion that had a hint of profit too it. Now Hwyn wasn't particularly motivated by greed but he was curious and even a dangerous offer was an interesting one. Hwyn also wanted to know how the man had caught him so easily.

So walking next to the man Hwyn let his vision fade back to normal and opened his mouth. Speaking in between bites in his chirpy voice Hwyn tried to summarize his life as cohesively as he could.

"How I became what I am today, you know, t-that is t-the first time anyone asked me t-that. So let me think. I was born in Sunberth, to what i think I remember being a fairly average family, though I can't remember much about them anymore. When I was f-five, i was sold. Funnily enough the market for children in sunberth was thriving.. ha.. ha..., that's not too funny I-i guess.. Anyways I was raised from their out t-to be a servant and plaything for a rich family, a-a V-violinist... and it was okay for a while... but then when sunberth began to collapse, worse than it normally is.... things got particularly unpleasant.... So I ran away, too a city called Syliras... That city was ok and stayed their for a little while, but the sort of people that call that place home, well they don't take too kindly to people like me.... Oh and sorry again for.. ya know.. earlier... But then i got on a ship because the captain filled my head with tails of family and friends.... he was a liar. So now I'm here in Alavadas, doing one of the things i'm good at I guess, I've been following ribbons all week, that's how I u-uhm met you"

When Hwyn paused the man said something that made him blush and perplexed him. he complimented his eyes which while flattering at first, was concerning. Hwyn hadn't removed his blindfold... and the man wanted to know where he had gotten his eyes? He must have seen his eyes were different. Sighing Hwyn decided that their wasn't much point in trying to hide much from this man, he seemed to see through everything. Removing the Blindfold Hwyn stared the man in the eyes.

"U-uhm I do't think you will believe me, but my eyes became like this here in Alvadas, I was in the edge maze, and ate some of the berries that grow their, and fell asleep, u-uhm, after that I met a giant golden snake, and it said it could show me the paths to the things i wanted... and then he stared at me until it hurt.... then I was awake in the maze again... Now whenever i look hard I can see ribbons that follow people everywhere they go. That's why I followed you, your ribbon, and your staff... have really bright ribbons... so uh, I thought i might... I'm s-sorry really am."

casting his gaze about Hwyn began to again ponder how he could flee, he'd all but admitted what his intentions had been, he really was terrible at talking too people, maybe he really should find a place to run too.

[The Bizarre]Magic and Muggings[Hwyn]

As Clyde watched the aura, he felt the hum fade, watched the shine from his eyes dim both in terms of the active djed fading and in terms of the mundane sight of his eyes seen through the arcane means of the aura.

He noted this fact, pondering on it, unsure what it meant. He'd never before seen a magic with such a visible sign, and that the magic in question seemed to make the persons eyes glow as they used it actively seemed odd also. Something he'd certainly never seen.

He was fairly certain at this point that it was some form of personal magic, though one he hadn't seen before. World magic's didn't work quite the same way, and the fact that it was directly affecting his person and actively using djed he could sense seemed to rule that out. And gnosis weren't sensed by Auristics. The only logical conclusion therefore was some kind of personal magic.

He was more interested in the magic and less interested in the thief's live, but he still listened and noted the information. While it might not directly interest him, it could be of use in interacting with and perhaps gaining leverage over the thief, even if he didn't directly learn anything of use or interesting by it.

Sunberth, a city that hated mages. Then to Syliras, a place that didn't feel much better about them. Something he knew quite well, having grown up as a mage there.

Likely he'd not learned the magic in either of those places.

He looked for a home, was promised it and family, but his promise was not given. Friends and family bonded in purpose.

“People often promise such things without meaning it. I give you my word though that I won't promise such things. However...”

“While I think offering such things is silly, and more of an empty promise than anything else, that doesn't mean I can't offer anything. I think you could be of use to me, and I to you. Not friends, not family, but a trade of gains, I think that's more realistic, don't you? Isn't that something to seek? Not scraping out an existence, but having an ally, and being of use to someone for something. In turn helping out your ally in trade for what they give you? I think that's a much more fair relationship, and more realistic to find. More honest too.”

“I won't lie and say I'd help you out of the kindness of my heart, of take you in as family, as some might lie and say. But I think you could be of use. And I help those who help me. My allies don't go hungry.”

He wasn't sure what ribbons were that he'd mentioned following, though from the way he said it Clyde thought perhaps it had something to do with the magic. He'd seen many terms used to describe things of magic without a clear term, particularly with personal magics where things worked more by instinct than by formal training. Ribbons that he followed to Clyde, were perhaps how he saw or interpreted something?

Several more pieces of the puzzle were cleared up as the youth spoke. He'd learned it in Alvadas, something he'd somewhat been leaning towards. The golden snake, one that spoke seemed odd. Though he had met Dhani, and they could speak while in their in between form.

Showing paths... Ribbons... Eye to eye contact, magic, looking and seeing the ribbons... From Clyde's own experience with many magic initiations, the process sounded to Clyde like one. Meeting a mage, a transfer or initiation that started or enable a process, and then the ability conveyed to the new mage. Looking hard perhaps meant activating the magic, willing it to work as many personal magics worked on such willing.

All of his words though seemed to be focused on eyesight, something Clyde noted. He saw the ribbons. He saw the tacks. He saw Clyde and his staff, and they were really bright as compared to others...

Clyde knew that he was a mage, so that could perhaps make him brighter. The staff was an artifact made with Magecrafting, was more potent in terms of its aura and djed due to the enchantment laid upon it, and apparently that made it brighter.

If nothing else this magic let the youth see mages for what they were, and see magic items for being something more. Assuming his words were accurate and not misunderstood on the youths part, or outright lies.

If they were true however...

Ribbons that followed people as they moved, and traced where they went. Useful perhaps, Clyde thought to himself.

As he thought and listened anger didn't cross his face, instead interest and curiosity, particularly as he spoke about the magic.

“This ability you have, it in particular could be of use to me. How long have you been using it? What all can you do with it? What are its limits? I would be interested in anything I could learn about it. Its something I've not heard of, and would like to learn more of.”

“Perhaps I could even help you understand some things about it, puzzle it out more. Ask the right questions. I know of other things, similar things, to what I think your ability is, which might bring some clarity for comparison purposes.”

Magic and Muggings

The man spoke curtly, and bluntly, and Hwyn wasn't sure if that made him happy or not. Hwyn was well aware at this point that the things he desired were likely beyond his reach, but it didn't make him feel much better to be told so. Yes the world was full of false promises and liars, but it was almost better to believe the lies sometimes than to see the world for what it was. The man did however make a counter offer, he didn't offer friendship but he did offer an alliance of sorts, it was obvious from the way the man spoke that Hwyn was likely the tool to be used than an equal, but the man that had so easily bested him had already shown that he was more powerful than Hwyn was so that development came as no surprise. But the man said that his offer was more honest. Could an offer advertised as being honest be trusted?

Though at the same time, such an offer was difficult to turn down the man had informed him that his allies wouldn't starve, and while family and friends were things Hwyn wanted, food on the other hand was something he needed. Perhaps it would be for the best just to go along with what the man wanted, it would be nice to have work again, in a less sporadic format.

When the man showed curiosity over anger about the idea of ribbons Hwyn almost let out a sigh of relief, it looked like the man wasn't looking for a way to punish him, which improved his mood a fair amount. He said that Hwyn's abilities could prove useful, He liked the idea of being useful to someone, being appreciated was something Hwyn desired, and even if it wasn't companionship to be wanted was a start.

"I'm not sure how to explain it.... so.. Say you turned around and started walking away... well your ribbon would stay here.... and I could then follow your ribbon to wherever you went. Uhm... I have been trying to understand it, i've only had it for a little while now... But I think that if i know a ribbon, like yours is special not like anyone else's ribbon everyone has a special ribbon... but I could find yours as long as it's fresh... Maybe a couple chimes? I don't know how long ribbons last really I've never tried to find the end of one. But uhm yes. The ribbons let you find things after they move, things that don't move, only have very tiny ribbons. So... That's all I know I think..."

Exhausting his knowledge on the subject Hwyn explained the basics of what he had observed about his abilities, maybe the man really would understand more about them than him. Either way he just hoped the man believed him.

[The Bizarre]Magic and Muggings[Hwyn]

While his manipulation was simple, it seemed effective upon the youth. But then Clyde knew over complicating things more often than not made things more difficult, and that complex techniques and trickery didn't mean you'd be any more successful.

Offering a child what they wanted, food, a purpose, being useful, seemed a simple enough thing to assume would be desired from his brief observation of the child and their actions. From his rough appearance, hungry reply to the offered food, and that he was attempting to rob him, it seemed likely.

The alternative was that it was all an act, that they did it for fun and simply played the poor street child, but Clyde didn't think that too likely and went with the more likely assumption.

He listened as the magic in question was explained, at least as well as the youth's struggling vocabulary could explain it. The terms and concepts were foreign likely to all but trained mages, and so it wasn't surprising that he couldn't explain it well.

From his explanation everything seemed to leave a hidden track behind it, people and objects, something that could be followed by those who could sense and see them. This magic seemed to work in a manner which allowed these tracks to be seen... Likely there was more to it than that, more that could be done, but the child was either unaware from not having used the magic enough, or hiding the other facts about it.

From his own understanding of magic he assumed that range and time in reading trails would expand as one became more skilled in the magic. It reminded Clyde of Auristics in many ways, though instead of tapping into an aura of an object or person it sensed these trails.

If by things that don't move he meant inanimate dead objects had smaller trails, that was another similarity with Auristics. Dead and non-magical objects had much smaller aura's than living things, and sentient beings had even larger auras.

Perhaps in that manner the magics were somewhat alike.

“It works with the eyes yes? That is the reason you've covered them? And you were using the magic, but stopped a bit ago, right?”

Though the hum of the magic had faded, Clyde examining the aura could still feel and sense the faint residue of the fresh djed transmuted to create the magic effect, leaving its traces upon the childs aura in a way Clyde had figured out how to sense.

It was weaker and harder to sense now that the active use of magic was gone, but easier to sense than magic of long past which had the time to fade more completely.

The residue was hidden as a mark upon the edges of the aura, though at the same time at a much deeper level than most cursory examinations. As he touched the spot within the aura he suddenly felt a flash of sight, a vision of a pair of eyes blazing just in front of him, but not in front of Clyde himself. The eyes stared and glowed akin to the child's had earlier. For a moment it almost appeared as if something arced between the eyes he was seeing with and the eyes he was seeing, only for the vision to cut off.

As quickly as it had come it was gone, the brief flash of sight from another gone.

Clyde shook his head, a bit unnerved by the experience. He could only assume it was something to do with his use of Auristics, though one he didn't think he'd experienced before.

Seeing the memory reminded him more of Spiritism than anything else, of seeing within a spirits mind and experiencing a memory.

As best he could tell he had just experienced a brief flash of sight of the initiation into whatever this magic was, though he had no idea how he'd done so.

But then, it wasn't the first thing he'd done something with Auristics without fully meaning to, like when he'd stumbled upon the ability to alter his own Aura while learning Morphing. Clearly there were still techniques and abilities he had left to learn with the magic.

Clyde paused for a moment, his gaze growing far off as he pondered things, before pulling himself back into the moment and gazing at the youth.

“I will be leaving the city in about ten or fifteen days or so. If you'd like, you could come along. Perhaps if you come along, we could examine things a bit more privately and try to help you become a bit more skilled with the magic along the way, while learning a bit more about your... Ability... Some things though I think are better done in private.”

Clyde paused for another moment while looking at the youth, giving his words time to sink in.

“My name is Clyde by the way. Clyde Sullins. What is yours?”
Clydes Stuff

Magic and Muggings

The man was strange his actions were measured, it felt like for every word hat he said he had two or three thoughts, or at least that was the vibe he gave off to Hwyn, when he asked as to if the magic worked with his eyes he nodded. He couldn't grab or interact with the ribbons any more than he could smell them, they were merely things to be seen and followed.

The man stood before Hwyn for an uncomfortably long time staring at Hwyn, or through him it felt like, fidgeting under the gaze Hwyn looked around waiting on the man to find whatever words he wanted to say. After a few more moments the man seemed to refocus on Hwyn bringing whatever thoughts he'd been having with him. what the man said next was interesting, he informed hwyn that he'd be leaving the city in the next few days, and with that knowledge extended an offer to help him understand his magic? Hwyn was fairly certain that he wasn't magical but now was perhaps not the time to force that issue. either way the man was extending to him an invitation to come with him, Hwyn wasn't sure where they'd be going but he was fairly certain that it would probably beat whatever things he was going to do in a city where he slept in a temple. The man then shared his name with Hwyn. Hwyn hadn't even thought to ask the man's name but the offer of a name was assuring in it's own way.

Looking at the man Hwyn chewed his bottom lip for a moment.

"Alright Clyde... I think i'd like to come along. It might be nice to be... wanted...? for a change. Oh, and my name is Hwyn.. It'd uhm... Nice to meet you Clyde. I hope that you're right about being able to help me understand whatever it is that's happened to me."

With that Hwyn frowned... what now? He would wait on the man to finish with him the man made Hwyn a tad uncomfortable held a since of cynical authority that mad Hwyn uncertain of what the man's goals and desires were. Such things made him conscious of how little he knew about the world.
