Greyheart's office.

Stepping into Ser Greyhearts office was something that should have brought a small sense of worry upon Alex. At least for the reason he needed to be there. Stepping into the room Alex’s resolve to do this never wavered. Never faltered. Still though he had to walk with a measured distance. Using all his con concentration to remain calm and even toned, to seem like the normal him. Crossing the hard wooden floor Alex gave a small salute and as best as he could retained a calm manner.

“Ser. I’ve come to make a request.” Alex spoke with an edge to his words that wasn’t entirely normal despite his best effort. Sebastian must have picked up on this as he placed his quill back into the inkwell.
“Well, this is a rare occasion. What do you need from me?” Greyheart leant back into the high backed chair glancing up at the still standing squire of his. Alex simply tried not to explode from the turmoil within.
“Ser. I request some time to head to Kenash. I’ve personal business there.” Alex spoke with that edge of anger and panic creeping into the back of his voice.

“Well Alex I’ve never had you ask me for anything really. Take a seat and we’ll discuss how to go about this.” As Greyheart gestured a hand towards a chair ales remained unchanged no softening despite Greyhearts best efforts but instead looked like he was steadily growing more tense.
“Y’know it’s not a good idea to bottle everything up. Explain to me the situation and I’ll see what I can do.” Alex nodded and placed his hands on the table in front of him. Taking a moment to use a meditation trick he’d learnt to calm himself down he began to recount the things that were hounding him and the reason why he needed to take some time.

Alex began to speak recounting Ser Greyheart with some facts about his past, trying to leave out his origins and starting off from the point in Nyka which was common knowledge to a few.
“Ser, this is about my father. If I’m right in my information I believe he is in kenash. And as much as it’s not right for me to shirk my duties to the knighthood, I need to do this.” Alex spoke with a shake to his voice, one that wasn’t quite a full standard of anger nor of worry.

“Alex. If you believe it necessary to deal with this spectre form your past in order to progress forwards then do it. Just remember Alex. A person often meets his destiny on the road he took to avoid it.” Greyheart leant back in the chair a little further pressing his shoulders into the wood. “Alex, y’know before I joined the knights I was a carpenter? Never really lost the skills nor the steadiness of hand. But it wasn’t until I joined the knights and finally got knighted that I went back to see my family. Was only then that I found out my father had been robbed and killed. I was on my knighting quest at the time. And I couldn’t do anything to stop it. I know it’s not the same, but I brought it up because I want you to know. No matter what happens, one way or another you’re going to have to live with it.”

Alex loosened his rigidness a little realizing that Greyheart spoke the truth. He could almost feel a reminiscent piece of his own words coming back at him. What was he going to do when he found his father? Was he going to just tear him to pieces? Just rip him to shreds? Or was he going to be the bigger man? Either way, he was going to have to approach this as the man he is. Not who he was, nor who he could be, but who he is in that exact moment. “Thank you sir.” Alex lowered his head a little and gave a small nod.

With a heavy sigh Greyheart rose from his chair. “Also Alex I got you a little something, I was going to give it to you on your birthday but… Seeing as you may not be back in time for that I figure I’ll give it to you now.” Greyheart reached behind the high-backed chair and pulled out a sword, Similar in size and shape to Alex’s own, however the guard was a slightly jagged. “Seeing as you’ve excelled with this type of weapon the most, I thought I’d get you one.” With a simple throw across the desk. Alex caught the weapon drawing the blade slightly the fire light caught the blade and made it dance. Alex paused to look at the blade and a smile crawled across his face. A couple tears welled in his eye.

“Thank you ser…” His words heavily weighted. The bottled anger and pain now replaced briefly with gratitude and a feeling of loss. “I haven’t gotten anything, Before.” Alex paused a moment looking down at the blade resting in his hands.
“Right. Go where you need to, get what you need to done. Then come back and become a damned fine knight. If you don’t I will be severely disappointed. Not just in you but in myself for seeing something in you.” Greyheart then gave a small smirk and ushered him out the dire with a small hand gesture. Alex rose from his seat still clutching the blade in his hands, and bowing his head lightly as he left.

Returning to his room he didn’t even stop to speak to the other members of his small section he just stepped into his own quarters. Closing the door slowly Alex slid his back down the wall next to him. The sword clutched in his hands and his head buried in his knees. Tears streaming down his face. Inside his head a whirlwind had picked up. Anger, Happiness, Sadness, Hope, Despair. Every emotion swirled around his head drowning him.

Graders Please Note :
As Ball is getting closer and closer to maxing out Pyken as a skill, I would like to request that in places where Ball is not doing enough to constitute Pyken XP if Pyken technique lores could be issued instead.

Examples of proper XP level for Pyken would be: Ball developing or refining his technique by adding new thing against an actual moving target, not a dummy.

The use of basic skills alone are not enough to accomplish XP at Ball's current level of Pyken.

Thank you.

I will be handling all Ball related posts on Mondays @ 1800 my time *
