Home of the Konti people, this ivory city is built of native konti stone half in and half out of the sea. Its borders touch the Silverwood, and stretch upwards towards Silver Lake, home of the infamous konti vision water. [Lore]

The city was washed in colors of golds, umbers and toasted colors of Autumn. The coppery swirls amongst the ageless tones of the woods were in display. The smell of pumpkin and spiced apples would bedeck the olfactory systems of all in the city along with herring pie and chowders. The sun was out, the north east cool breeze was blowing through as it lifted the spirits of everyone being a refreshing change since the three-day gale a few days before. The musicians started tuning their instruments to start playing at the central square as other teams of musicians waited to take their turn upon the stage. There were singers and instrumentalist ready with song and spirit. Stalls filled the market if they didn’t have a store front that already was readying for the festival crowd. The stone was still a little wet from being washed clean as people slowly started milling in and seeking early deals.

Even the guard was holding their weapons a little loosely as they walked the festival thorough fares, policing the affair expecting nothing to occur. The day promised to be filled with food and music. The merchants expected a good turn out for profit to make up for the three day gale that really put them out of business for seven days between the preparation and the clean up afterwards. Still the prices remained reasonable. The artistry and elegance of the Konti was in full regalia as the Mother’s circle made sure this Day of Bright Colors would be a needed relief from the stresses earlier in the season.

[Festival] Day of Bright Colors

Tap wasn't much for festivities, or loud noises, or crowds. But work was work and this was one populated marketplace. Mainly Tap supplied local resturants with her catches, but in the days in between her requests and orders, she still liked to fish along the shores of Konti Isle. Her job wasn't just her job, if was a hobby and her way of life. However not even Tap couldn't eat the amount of fish and shellfish and other ocean oddities she caught on a daily basis and so she went to the marketplace instead to sell the surplus before the fish went bad.

The ejoyed the marketplace setup, it was rather intuitive and Tap was always impressed. It wasn't just a series of stall but stall built for specific purposes. For Tap, as a fisher, her stall had a tiny river flowing directly in front of it. The water was under the ground and she placed her mesh bag into the opening. It was salt water running through and since the bag that held her catch was made of holes, the water would keep the fresh fish alive until they were sold into hungry hands.

Tap couldn't cook worth a damn so everything she sold was raw. But her variety was extensive. She sold shellfish; clam, abalone. She sold crustaceans; lobster and crab. She provided normal fish; anchovies and small ocean fish as well as the oddities; squid and sea urchins. The animals collected and being sold today were from the past 7 days of fishing. Tap never let her fish die unless she was selling them immediately. Instead she kept them immersed in water, feeding them a bit perhaps, just enough to keep them alive and healthy until market day.

Of course this market day was unlike the rest and Tap was even more disappointing she had to be here than normal. She could already feel the shadows of movement all around her, crowding her, pushing in on her small bubble. It was not their fault, most Konti did not know of her gift as she tended to not tell it openly. It was her own little secret and it did not function well if people knew how to avoid it. It allowed her to keep an eye on her fish, squirming around in their bag close by her, without having to watch them constantly. It kept her safe from behind if anyone tried to sneak up on her she would know just in time. It was important not to let anyone know.

Grader Note :
Currently I base my presentation of my Scavenging and Fishing skill on the skill write up by Shimoje and Ferrin, respectively, that is in the Founder's Review section of the World Development forum. This means, for example, that hand fishing, the practice of collect marine life out of the water by hand, Tap considers fishing rather than just gathering. Of course the final decision is up to the grader. This is simply what I am basing her actions off of.

Please also note that Tap is a very antisocial Konti and therefore please only reward her socialization point HALF of what you would normally award for a PC.
