A city floating in the center of a lake, Ravok is a place of dark beauty, romance and culture. Behind it all though is the presence of Rhysol, God of Evil and Betrayal. The city is controlled by The Black Sun, a religious organization devoted to Rhysol. [Lore]

"Thank you for the blanket," Aello said, as she wrapped her fingers around the inside, and pulled it over herself tightly. The blanket was relatively warm, she thought, and surely would aid the purpose of the fire that was roaring at her feet. Aello inched closer to the fire, as she smiled sweetly over at Lorcan as he took a seat on the floor by her.

The light of the fire was casting long shadows over Lorcan's face, making it difficult to make out some of his features- his eyes, his nose, his neck seemed almost non-existent now. It was amazing what light could do, or a lack of it, Aello thought. Such a simple thing could give the illusion of being larger than life, powerful... or simply, make it seem as though one were about to disappear. And that wasn't even considering what it could make one seem like, as far as character goes- too much light could make one seem like the greatest of people, honest and just, and happy, while too little could make one seem dark and mysterious; someone you should be wary of. She wondered how the fire made her look, what the others must be thinking when it cast shadows over her delicate features. "It is warmer over here, isn't it?" Aello asked Lorcan, as she pulled the blanket even more tightly around her chin.

Aello didn't have long to wait for an answer, because, for whatever reason, Dervish seemed to think that she needed to explain herself. "I am simply traveling, I suppose. Don't really have a home to go back to, if you know what I mean," Aello said, as she cast a way glance over at Dervish. She still wasn't sure what to make of him; having met under such strange circumstances; a bar fight, only to wind up in his home a few days later, having been invited by his roommate. "And if you are referring to a sort of profession or job, I have none. Don't suppose there is anything I am particularly good at," she said, casting her gaze back down at her feet, where a wrinkled blanket lay artfully draped over the heel of her boot. "So what are you doing here Dervish?" Aello inquired, wondering not only what he did when not throwing chairs in a bar, but why he was living with Lorcan. The two didn't seem to be related, after all.

Lorcan stared at Dervish as he started to sharpen one of his knives, it was something Lorcan taught him a while back. Oh how he missed the forge, as tired as he was he couldn’t get enough of it. But he knew he shouldn’t overwork himself, because that might kill him, as he’d learned a few times he stayed way too long.

”It’s warmer over here isn’t it?” She was right, it was warmer here, sitting next to her, though Lorcan didn’t care much for it, he usually didn’t mind the cold outside because the heat of the forge had kept him warm all day long, it was a nice way of cooling down. He was very tired though, he actually just felt like laying in bed and doing nothing rather than sitting here with a girl that Dervish did… something with, he didn’t know and didn’t ask.. A bar fight? Lorcan wasn’t sure, on one hand Dervish got into a lot of fights, on the other hand this little girl here seemed like she couldn’t even lift the lightest hammer they had in the forge. But perhaps Dervish caused that? Could he have… But how? She didn’t seem to have any physical injuries? Or were all the bruises under her clothes? What did Dervish do to her!?

As usual his mind was making him go completely nuts, he tried to calm himself down by looking into the fire and using it to remember the forge, how it heated up the metal and allowed him to change it’s shape, strengthen it and allow him to create things.
"So... What are you doing in Ravok, Aello? And what do you do?" As Aello answered… something to Dervish, Lorcan didn’t really listen to it, it was their conversation and none of his concern, he just wanted to get to bed. Bed… Was Aello going to be sleeping here? How would that work, would she sleep on the floor? No… Should he give her his bed? That was the proper way to do things right? Why couldn’t Dervish give her his bed? Oh right, he didn’t bring her in, but maybe he hurt her so much he owes her? Or did she hurt him? All of these questions rampaged through his head, swirling around without answers. But one question suddenly popped up and didn’t really go away.
Who was this woman!? He wished he’d listened to what she said… ugh… Something about “travelling, home, job, Dervish” That didn’t help much… so he rattled through some more strange and insane possibilities.

And while all this was going on in his head he still stared into the fire, it was dancing… free to devour the wood upon which it fed. Shining it’s devoured energy upon him, his best friend in the world and this strange new girl. It illuminated her face enough for Lorcan to discern quite a few details, her nose, her hair, her cheeks. Her face was pale, though some parts of her cheeks had gotten their color back and she seemed to have stopped shivering. Eventually she turned her head to face Dervish while she was talking to him and all he could see then was her hair, which seemed to dance just as much as the flames. Behind her was Dervish, which he looked at then, his hair was all messy as usual and he just looked as normal. He looked like he was plotting some brilliant scheme, or brooding about something, Lorcan was never good at telling which of the two that particular face meant. Though apparently Aello had stopped talking completely and asked Dervish a question, Lorcan felt like saying… Something, but didn’t want to interrupt them and turned his head back at the dancing flames.

Aello let the blanket Lorcan had given her drop. It pooled around her body, a sea of wrinkled cloth. Aello raised her hands up over her head and stretched, making a point of yawning heavily, and rather audibly, so that each of her companions may hear her. She allowed her eyes to flutter open and shut several times, trying to give the impression of them feeling heavy, and her being tired, but failing miserably.

Aello grabbed her things, and slowly got to her feet. "Thank you so much for your hospitality," she said, as she looked over at the fire, the flames finally seemed to be dying down. Aello turned to Dervish first and said, "it was good seeing you again." After which time she turned to Lorcan, "and it was nice to meet you Lorcan."

Aello started to walk towards the door. "Until our paths do cross," she called over her shoulder, as she extended her left hand and turned the doorknob counterclockwise. She pulled back on the knob, and the door slowly opened. She stepped outside into the cold winter air, and closed the door silently behind her. Then, she walked a few paces to her left, and disappeared into the night.

OOCSorry to end so abruptly... but, I think this thread was just starting to wind down anyway.

This thread was REALLY cute. All of you did a good job. I really enjoyed the brotherly interaction between Lorcan and Dervish (I am really going to enjoy our thread once it gets rolling), and Aello was sweetly clueless through it all. Great job. <33
