The ground was softer than Addy thought it would have been, though she was knocked breathless much as she had expected. Winded and suffering from an intense bout of vertigo due to her aerobatics, the small woman didn't move for many moments. She just lay there on her back, gasping for breath, staring at the sky as it swirled sickeningly above her.
It was due to this unrealistic spinning of the world that caused Addy's belated realization that she didn't know where Sira had gone. Had it been the Kevlic that had fallen numerous feet to splat on the harsh ground below, Addy would have been at her side in a second. Mustering up as much dignity as she could and preparing herself to be somewhat offended, the woman took a deep (painful) breath and hoisted herself up onto her elbow.
As she looked around for her missing date, Addy wondered idly why the ground was moving now, as well as the sky. It was then, only then, that she thought to look down. "OH MY GOD!" Feeling the fool, and any worry she had for herself falling away, Addy quickly rolled off of Sira, going to her knees next to the prone Kelvic, who then weakly joked at her somewhat successful rescue. "Sira! Are you alright? Holy petch, you tried to catch me. You foolish.." Watching the way Sira's chest struggled to rise and fall, and the way her face was contorted in a mask of pain. Something was wrong, and Aidara quickly went into healer mode without the other woman even having to ask.
Addy was aware that she had landed squarely on Sira's chest and all her vital organs. This was the first place she was going to check. All of the womans limbs were laying in the right direction, no disturbing twists hinting at a break visible. Her fingers were gentle, but firm as they pushed along her sides, feeling for any kind of inconsistency, listening for a reaction from Sira. At almost the same moment, Addy felt a hard protrusion and the swelling of the muscles around her fifth and sixth ribs as Sira gasped in pain. "Ahhh.. There is defiantly a broken rib there, maybe more than one."
This meant business. Rather upset with herself for effectively ruining the date, it took Addy a couple tries to be able to lock away all her emotions properly. Tendrils of embarrassment, worry and anger kept leaking out of the boxes she tried to shove them in. Aidara needed a clear mind to be able to sink into herself, and concentrate on her healing. That was the only downfall of the way Addy's power worked: If she wasn't able to clear her mind, she was effectively useless.
Finally, finally the Healer felt the warm blanket of calm was hover her. As the blanket settled, Addy's body instinctively went into a sitting position next to Sira's prostrate form, her eyes sliding close while her fingers stayed in contact with the injured part of Sira's ribcage. Not really needing to draw on her power yet, Addy simply sunk beneath the Kelvic's flesh, going deeper and deeper until she was past all the layers of skin and fat, faced with the womans ribs.
It was odd. In her panic to fix Sira, Addy hadn't even considered the womans Kelvic heritage or the fact that she was, really, a bird. It took a moment of panic and worry for Addy to realize that what she was seeing was not some extreme injury, but just normality for Sira's bones. Bird bones looked far different from human. They were lighter, and less calcified. What was even weirder was Sira's bones retained some of their bird-like qualities even when she was in human form, with human shaped bones. It wasn't like Addy was looking at a picture of bones, but instead more of what one would see on an x-ray. Whatever description one wanted to use, the fact remained that Addy didn't see things clearly inside the body, and it took a lot of practice for her to be able to recognize the different bodily organs, parts, and bones.
So needless to say, while Aidara knew that she was in the right place for Sira's ribs, she was shocked at first, to see bones she didn't recognize. Time was of the essence, and the healer was quick to overcome this setback, quickly adapting what she knew of birds and their bones to the sight before her. It looked like the muscles around the fifth rib were badly bruised as well as slightly torn, while the sixth rib was broken. It was a clean brake, but Addy's spirits were dampened further. She couldn't mend a broken bone.
Since there was now only one option left for the healer, she turned her attention to the bruises. With her quick reaction, Addy was going to be able to stem the spread of the hematoma that was developing. The blood was pooling in the muscle tissue, the fibers of the muscle and connective tissue crushed and ruptured by the weight of Addy's falling body. From deep within her center, Addy picked at the spool of golden power that lingered there. It was quick to respond, which surprised the woman. Usually she had to caress her power into responding. Maybe she was getting better at this after all.
Deftly wielding her power, something the woman had been unable to say before this, Addy feed the golden strand through the muscle. Using it like stitches, Addy tried to re-inflate the damaged tissues, repairing the breaks in said tissue that was leaking the blood. But there was still the issue of the blood gathering under the womans skin. Unwilling to waste or burn this blood away, Addy instead turned her power thread into a sharp edge, quickly slicing a minor vein, and pushing the blood back into it. This vein was just as quickly closed back up with no harm done. Thinking back on this, Addy decided that was probably not the best way to go about it, but she had managed it without any further damage.
Since she had done everything that she could, and with one last look over her handiwork, Addy pulled herself from her healing reverie. Her eyes opened, and her emotions flooded forth from their boxes, overwhelming her mind for a moment until they settled back into their former places in her brain. A slow, deep sigh as the woman ran her hand over her face, and she looked down at Sira "I did what I could. You had bruised muscle and a broken rib. The broken rib I can do nothing about. I'm sorry...but I did manage to repair the bruise without any problems. I think I'm getting better at this." The last bit she repeated out loud to herself, having thought the same thing earlier. "No more climbing for you today, my dear. We're going to have to get you back and possibly in bed. You're going to be a bit sore for a week or two while the bone mends, and there isn't much you can do about it but move carefully."
Moving from a sitting to a kneeling position, Addy hovered over Sira, waiting for some kind of indication that she wanted to sit or stand, and then the healer was going to be there to assist her and ensure comfort.
