Saved by the... Giant Blue Guy? (Gural)

The slaver toppled to the ground with a muffled thud. Something else seemed to crack, but the man made no complaints about the growing level of pain he was sure to be in. Even though he was face down on the ground, the man seemed to be chuckling, as though this whole situation was little more than a joke. Blythe looked up at Gural worriedly, her eyes seemed to be saying, there is something seriously wrong with that man. She was shaking her head back and forth, but only slightly. When Blythe looked back down at the slaver, he was still laughing to himself. "What's so funny?" Blythe inquired, her voice was neutral. It hid her rising level of discomfort rather well.

A few moments after Blythe's voice had cut through the slaver's laughter, an eerie silence passed over the three of them. There was a sound much like that made when someone tries to clear their throat. "No one will care for her," the slaver replied, an edge of his laughter still lingering in his voice, "considering she is already dead." Blythe looked up at Gural, her eyes appearing slightly wider than before. Is she really dead, or is he simply lying so that the two of us will leave? Blythe wondered. Given the man's voice, and his track record, it was difficult to tell.

Blythe swallowed the clump of saliva that had gathered in the back of her throat, "what do you think we should do now Gural? Should we simply leave him here given his behavior?" Blythe asked. "What he has just claimed?" There was a slight pause. "If Melody has died, than what does he have to live for anymore?" the words were simple, spoken slowly. They weren't truly an accusation, or a reason to let him die. Nor did the Konti truly want the slaver to be killed. If anything, her words seemed more like an excuse- an explanation for the man's actions. He had been pulled into the slaving business out of pain. Of course, it appeared as though he was involved even before Melody's alleged death, but... the circumstances more than likely only aggravated the situation.

"Unless of course, he'd like us to take him to Melody's grave," Blythe whispered, to none of the two men in particular. Her words lingered in the air for a moment, before the slaver started chuckling again, "her body was burned, there is no grave," he said simply. Blythe simply stared down at the man; her eyes filled with something along the lines of pity. "Well, if that's the case, we couldn't help you," she whispered. She turned her head to face Gural again, "should we get out of here... before someone else comes along?" she asked. "We could always prop him up against the wall or something, perhaps someone will come along to tend to him." Even as she said the words, Blythe knew that it was doubtful, this was Sunberth, not Mura.

“Well isn’t that convenient!” Corak laughed.

The rage inside of Gural was beginning to form more than just tiny cracks in his composure, and was now threatening to tear down all that was left of his control. He could hear Blythe talking, but it was only after a while that he caught on to what she was saying. The man had no reason to lie, but then again, he hardly had any reason to live either.

“Why not just cut him out of his misery?” Corak still tried to tease. The cerulean paused before he continued: “In this case it would be more of a beating… so we could beat him out of his misery? No, that just doesn’t sound right!” the voice kept discussing with itself, remaining unchecked.

“Be quiet! I’m trying to think!” Gural yelled uneven, and without realizing that he could have been heard by someone other than his darker peer.

“So emotional, I think I’m going to cry!” cerulean yelled.

Turning back to the slaver, Gural weighed what little reason he still had against the decisions he held in his hands once again. They couldn’t help the man live, so should they help him die instead? Did he even deserve such kindness and mercy? While humans hardly had the same value system as the Akalak, they were still living beings each with their own purpose. Only with this particular man things were different; his purpose had expired.

“We have wasted enough time here! It is for the best if we just… KILL HIM! Yes, we should end him quickly!” the voice mutated in the middle.

Without even the slightest hint of what was coming, Gural was limited to watching his body move against his will. His legs closed the distance between him and the man. If Blythe was doing something, he had not cared enough to notice, and kept going until he knelt next to the slaver. Grabbing the man by his head he started ramming the face into the ground. Again, and again, and again.

“Quick is boring after all!” Corak shrugged to himself as he kept pounding the life out of the human.

Saved by the... Giant Blue Guy? (Gural)

"Wha... What are you doing?" Blythe shouted as her lavender eyes grew wide. "We said we would leave him here for someone to find, not kill him!" At first the slaver made no sound as Gural continued to pummel his face into the ground, over and over again. Blythe was surprised, she had expected him to scream as his face was pounded into a sickly, disfigured pulp, and blood oozed from the edges of his lips. As tiny black pieces of gravel dug into his skin, and dirt clung to the edges of whatever was left. She could just make out a crunching noise, and figured that some of his teeth had broken from the impact.

Realizing that Gural wasn't about to stop what he was doing just because she was screaming at him, Blythe walked a little closer to him. She wrapped her hands around the man's right arm, just as the slaver started to laugh again. Or perhaps, he had tried to. The laugh was more of a cough now, and a gurgling noise as well, more than likely from the blood that was bubbling up the man's throat. Are they both enjoying this? Blythe wondered, as her nails dug into Gural's biceps. If anything, his skin seemed to turn a slightly darker shade, edged with purple. His skin took on tiny crescents in the shape of her nails, but, could the Akalak even feel Blythe trying to pull him off the slaver? Or were her attempts at calming down the situation just as futile as she though they were?

After a few more minutes, the slaver had stopped laughing. His face was caked in blood, and nearly unrecognizable. His muscles seemed to loosen up, his body growing limp. He killed him. "Now would you look at what you did?" Blythe cried, as she took a step back and away from the Akalak. "Now what do you expect for us to do? Someone is going to notice a dead guy heaped up against the wall, or over your broad shoulders..." Blythe's voice trailed off as vomit began to rise in her throat, but she swallowed it. The edges of her lavender irises were red, and lined with tears. "How do you expect us to get out of here now Gural? Without being noticed?"

Blythe was so angry at the Akalak, that she could hit him. Of course, she didn't know how he would react, and doubt that it would be a good idea, so she instead did nothing, but stare angrily in silence for a moment. After which time she added, "of course he wasn't exactly a good man, but... this... this is too much. Even for a trip to Sunberth." It was little more than a whisper, and the Konti doubt Gural had heard. Or perhaps it was the darker twin. There was a slight pause, would Gural do something to jeopardize our freedom like this?

OOCUm if you don't want Blythe tugging on your arm, just tell me and I can adjust the post.

OOCI am sorry that took more than expected.
Laughing and cursing and crying; all of those could be heard from the dark blue frame that was the Akalak. As the man gave less and less reaction each time his face made contact with the dusty road, Corak knew he had control and that intoxicated him with happiness that could have been felt as a warm fuzzy feeling that enveloped the body. As the unclear warmth dissipated, so did Corak’s control, and by the time the wicked laugh stopped, the body was once more reclaimed by the rightful host.

His arm felt strangely hurt, were those wounds made by fingernails? He was slowly going through his thoughts and memories trying his best not to tremble at the sight of what he just did. The bones in the head were indeed among the hardest in the body, especially in the upper part of the forehead. Still, even with all that fortitude they seemed to be less than sufficient in protecting the brain from injuries. Gural’s arm was greased in blood, and it oozed with a strange sticky quality, almost promising that the blood will never be washed away. Why did the Konti scratch him? Why didn’t she pick up that small piece of metal and stick it in one of the Akalak’s muscles? Fear was irrational to the Akalak race as a whole most of the time, so he could not have effectively empathized with the Konti; still, he tried his best not to scare her further as he got up slowly.

“I am sorry”

No, you’re not!

“I should have not let that happen. We can still get away; just give me a chime to move the corpse away from plain sight. Lingering around does not seem like a too good of an idea either. Proceed that way, I will catch up to you, or I won’t; either way you are free!” it was not a self sacrificing moment, nor a touchy sentiment. He meant what he had said, every word. When he finished he pointed towards the north, or at least what he thought was north.

Even if he had gotten the side of the world wrong, it was plausible that they could always persuasive enough to get someone to tell them just what it is they are facing. They had not yet met anyone so it was fairly likely that they were in the far outskirts of the city, and that did nothing but lessen the pessimism that was almost alive in the awkward and smelly street.

Picking up the body and throwing it as far as he could in the closest secluded alley was quickly followed by turning towards the way he had pointed out for the Konti to follow and taking it himself.

Blythe nodded. It would be better if it was left out of sight. It is so unpleasant to look at, and will surely be found once it starts to smell, from being out in the open for too long. "You may wish to hurry," Blythe whispered, as she began to walk in the direction that Gural had indicated. "It will reduce your chances of anyone seeing you, and trying to correct the deed you have done."

As soon as the words had left Blythe's lips, she picked up her pace down the street. Her pace was neither a walk, nor a run, but something in-between. It was the movement of someone who seemed a little rushed; afraid. Every few seconds Blythe would glance over her shoulder, wondering if anyone other than Gural would try following her away. After all, in this city, she was worth something. She had learned firsthand that she could be sold for a fair amount as a slave.

Blythe tucked her hair behind her ears as she continued to move. Best for you to be able to see, she told herself as her heart continued to pound in her tiny rib cage. And best not to worry, he wouldn't leave you. Gural will be walking at your side once again; soon enough.

OOCThat's quite alright. And feel free to wrap up, unless you have another idea for the thread.
